City Gym is a fantastic local gym with a wide range of class offerings. The space and the equipment are well maintained and the people that work and work out there are all very friendly. There is a strong sense of community. For me, the class offerings are the best part. They provide a great workout in a short period of time. The trainers really care about the attendees' improvement and offer advice on technique and modifications. Overall just a great place to belong.
Well it's no secret that I love this gym....because I work here....but I work here because I love it!! :-D I've been at this gym as a class instructor and trainer full time for several years now. I choose to work here because of the quality of the instructors and trainers I work among. I think they are the best in KC and push me to be my best as well.
The facility is always clean and the equipment is modern and always functioning. I've been at facilities where that isn't always the case, but at City Gym they make sure that equipment is fixed in a timely manner and regularly serviced.
Of course, all the members are the best part. It's a wonderful community of people!
The equipment is clean and well maintained. The classes are challenging and varied, and the teachers inspire you to try your best. The staff are kind and professional.
The atmosphere is an interesting combination of being laid back and focused. Something about the vibe of City Gym makes me want to give my all every time I go.

The potential physical, emotional benefits of regular exercise in a positive atmosphere, as a way of life, are immense. City Gym delivers on all cylinders-fun atmosphere, fantastic instructors and great class variety! I recommend this gym in particular to all my patients! Exercise is the best drug around!
Some friends invited me to a cycling class, and although I'd never done one before it was a great experience! The instructor, Chase, was incredible and very welcoming to new gym go-ers. The gym itself is in a great location and has ample parking in the back. Best of all, it had this inviting, includive atmosphere that I've found lacking at other gyms. The staff is particular supportive of the LGBTQ community, which is refreshing and much needed.

Nice quiet place to work out without judgement. People are there to workout and not to find a date. It is awesomely clean and simply organized.

Great gym and friendly staff when I visited KC.
I don't live in KC, but I was home visiting my parents and needed a place to work out, which can be a tough needle to thread. This place was perfect. It's $10 for a single workout, facilities are awesome. There are plenty of free weights (for example - 4 or 5 squat racks most of which are convertible for benching) and tons of foam rollers, mats, stretch bands, etc, plus lots of room to use them. I can't speak to peak hours (I went at 10am on a Friday), but there were only a handful of people in the whole establishment, meaning there was no waiting for equipment. Most of all, though, the woman at the front desk (wish I could remember her name) was very nice and helpful. They had towel service at no extra cost, she offered to watch my bag since I forgot to bring a lock, and she recommended a coffee shop two doors down where I got a protein shake after I was done.
If you're from out of town a need to catch a quick workout, this is the spot. Wish there was one in every city.

City Gym does a great job. It's a little pricey, but they have just about everything you would expect at a gym. Facilities are nice and new, but not over the top. They stay involved in the community and are all inclusive.
