Colleen is a very nurturing person and cares deeply for all her clients. She is very flexible and is a joy to be around. She has extensive knowledge on yoga and the body, and her Thai massage is one of the best experiences you can do for yourself.
I have gone here for the Beamer and massage, and meditation. Love the place, love Colleen, a beautiful peaceful healing place.
After speaking with Colleen (the owner of Seeking Solace) and sharing a negative experience my friend and I had at another studio, we decided to attend Glenn's Hatha Yoga class last Thursday. Both my friend and I have very little experience with yoga and have never consistently practiced it, but Colleen seemed very understanding and took my needs seriously.
All of the concerns I shared with Colleen she relayed to Glenn. Our class with Glenn was the first time that both my friend and I could actually say we enjoyed and were excited about our experience with yoga. Glenn was simply fantastic.
In class, Glenn created an amazing gentle, safe, and comfortable space. As an abuse-survivor I especially appreciated that he was so respectful of physical boundaries and even took the time to ask our permission whether we were comfortable with him helping us with some of the poses. I also loved how he explained the purpose and meaning behind the poses, rather than just telling us what to do.
The studio itself is very comfortable. It was quiet and there was a little window facing a courtyard with flowers and plants. It was a simple thing, but nice being able to look at rather than a mirror as in most other studios.
I left our class feeling very empowered and encouraged. My friend and I will absolutely be back. Thank you Glenn and thank you Colleen.
I have been taking yoga classes for almost 30 years. This week, I attended the best yoga class I've ever experienced - the Restorative /Deep Stress Relief class led by Colleen Boveri. It was like a whole spa day condensed into 75 minutes! Colleen exudes wonderful, calming energy and has such a soothing voice. Colleen provides clear guidance and assistance on the poses and uses spot on imagery to guide the class members into a meditative state of mind and body. I arrived feeling harried and distracted, and left the session feeling calm and centered! I highly recommend this studio! I will be back. :-)

Colleen is the most welcoming, nurturing, caring yoga teacher i've ever come across. An all around great person and great teacher! Tons of experience and can work with all your needs whether its your flexibility or a torn muscle she will make sure your comfortable no matter what. Yoga at seeking solace is more than just yoga, its a relaxing sanctuary where you can unwind... her thai massages are a must! And my favorite is the restorative class, you leave feeling like a new person!
When I decided to give Yoga a try I knew I wanted small classes, individual attention and a caring and compassionate instructor. I found all of that and more in Colleen's class. One of the first things she said that really resonated with me is that everyone is different and poses can be modified to work with any body type. She encourages you to give all poses a try but never makes you feel inadequate if you can't get it. She really focuses on breathing techniques which helps in all areas of my life. The class is wonderful starting with the warm up stretches to the restful and meditative end. The atmosphere is lovely and serene. This is everything I was looking for and my only regret is that I didn't start sooner.
Seeking Solace Yoga Studio is a hidden gem. The new studio is very open and spacious. I've had Yoga classes with quite a few different teachers in the past but none as passionate and knowledgeable as Colleen. She always brings new ways of doing things in class. Her teaching style is very hands-on and easy to follow. It really doesn't matter what level of Yoga experience you have, you will always learn something new. The classes are especially good for stretching muscle & tight tissues. One of my favorite classes is Restorative Yoga; it's so relaxing and calming, like getting pampered at a Spa! The Thai Yoga massage was great too. I feel fortunate to have found Seeking Solace!
I love the classes at this Studio! Colleen and her instructors are fabulous!!
Best yoga studio. Colleen is an excellent yoga instructor. She has years of experience and you'll receive personal instruction in the group classes. Her classes are both energizing and relaxing. Her studio is beautiful and peaceful. She offers many extras like bolsters, blankets, eye bean bags, sand bags, elastic bands and much more. It is an enriching experience, one that is unique and quite different than any other yoga class I have taken in Kansas City. It is simply the best and the cost is low and affordable. You won't be disappointed and I look forward to many years of yoga with Colleen. Thank you Colleen for sharing your talents!
