I work out here 4-5 times a week. Plenty of cardio machines, some even against a back wall so I can hide my fat butt from the masses. Good cross section of clientele--I'm not the most or least out of shape. But no fans for air movement? Lots of free weights, exercise bands, assisted weight machines and even a scaffolding-like thing with diagrams for serious stretching. But no fans! Cardio machines all look out a huge window at an apartment complex so you can watch people drive their garbage bags down to the dumpster. Front desk offers smoothies, Quest Bars (yes!), T shirts, water bottles for purchase, body fat assessments, mind & body wellness programs & massages (or you can earn that stuff with points for attendance & referrals). Yoga and Pilates classes for extra. Tanning bed for $25 extra. BUT NO FANS. I transferred to Cedar Rapids from a Planet Fitness market, and their monster ceiling fans, as well as individual machine fans kept the air circulation and white noise levels high. They need that here. Otherwise, clearly, they have almost everything you'd ever need. Just seems like if PF can put in fans and massage chairs, a place charging 6 times as much should be able to. That said, trainers & front desk staff are friendly & helpful in choosing a fitting package. I started with the lowest price one--I think it was like $30/month. But i only got access to the Xpress locations for that package. In order to come to South & apparently some bigger location up NE (?), I had to upgrade. But now I can't go to Xpress--I can only go to the two staffed locations. Weird. Anyway...good place but not perfect.
