I have lived in cities with great fitness scenes (San Francisco and Nashville). I also like to check out local fitness studios when I travel . I would say I am fitness fanatic. When I first moved to the indianpolis area, finding a great fitness studio was a priority for me because I saw it as a way to adapt to the community here. I looked at different gyms and was initially quite disappointed by various factors - cleanliness of the space, qualify of the space, intensity of of the work out. And I looked quite intensively in the area including indianapolis, carmel, and Fishers.
Finally, I found The Barre Code after some persistent yelping and googling; it is amazing! It is my first experience with this franchise. The studio is spacious, clean, and there are individual lockers for your personal belongings. I have been impressed by the different styles of classes that are offered (traditional barre, Baryasa (hot vinyasa yoga), HIIT, etc). Each class is different and utilizes different props ranging from bar weights and hand weights to discs and bands. All the instructors have been great - they keep a high energy and motivating and are friendly. I also love the well spaced classes, there are really early morning classes for early risers and evening classes for those who like to get their workout in after work.
There are a couple things that I think can be better. There's no shower which makes it a little tricky if you plan to go straight to work after class. There are ways to work around that but there are no console tables in the bathrooms which makes just changes into a different set of clothes also challenging.
