I can't say enough about this gym! When we moved to Chicago, I decided I wanted to learn some self defense techniques. I have never loved going to the gym and have always had an on again/off again relationship with working out. Add that to being in a new city and knowing no one, being over 35 and out of shape and I was terrified to join a new gym....but I signed up for one of the free intro classes and I was hooked. Although I was completely lost for most of the class, the instructor and other students were so patient and helpful, and the class was so empowering that I bought the annual membership that day. The instructors are amazing - they will certainly push you (but in a good way) and there's room for fun too. They are great at listening to any limitations you might have and working with you. The other students are wonderful too, there is a real sense of community. I could go on and on about how great they are - just go, you won't regret it.

I've been with Titan Gym for a couple of months now and I already know I won't be going back to my old gyms. I've had Planet Fitness, Lifetime fitness, and LA fitness memberships in the past and I never looked forward to going to them because I'd get bored running on treadmills and lifting weights.

I decided to buy a 10 class pack at this gym to try something new. I signed up for a yearly membership and canceled my other gyms after taking my third class at Titan. I've since been going 5-6 days a week, and I only do it because now I actually enjoy my workouts. Not only are the classes fun, they're also challenging and you get to learn something useful. The hour of class really goes by quickly

The Titan gym community is just as appealing as their classes. The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful, and everyone is supportive of each other. Even if you're a slow learner or not in the best shape, you won't feel out of place.

They also offer a free trial class if you're willing to give it a try

Terrific variety of classes and memberships. Very knowledgeable and fun instructors. Can take any classes from any membership for one week a month every month. My biggest problem is not having enough time to take all the classes I want to here. Great group of members who you quickly become friendly with. Gym also has many social events for members so you can get to know people you take classes with and meet members who take take different classes or classes at different times (I'll never understand you morning class ppl).

It's a great place to learn self-defense, martial arts, and a good workout in too! The people and staff are all very friendly and skilled. These are definitely some of the top people in Chicago. They also throw these social events for their members, which is nice - not a lot of gyms I know do that.

Such welcoming and great group of people to train with! Wonderful and highly skilled instructors! This place have added a big positive in my life, both physically and mentally. So nice to be able to also try different styles of martial arts and other classes to. The best gym ever!

Both my son (9) and daughter (7) took a self defense class at Titan Gym. They had a great time, and learned a lot from the staff. Both classes were geared to their respective ages, and the lessons (physical, mental and social) were awesome. I highly recommend the experience of working and learning at Titan Gym!! (Perfect for Boy & Girl Scout groups!)

My wife and I have been attending Titan Gym for about four months, and it's been amazing. The teachers are excellent, the environment is positive, and the monthly free classes for women and LGBTQ identifying people lets you know that their hearts are in the right place.

This is the first time I've ever attempted martial arts, and it's also the first time I've actually stuck with going to the gym regularly. If you've ever thought about giving Krav Maga or Muay Thai a try, you should definitely check out Titan Gym.

Titan gym has become my second family! They taught me how to defend myself with Krav when I felt threatened and now I am taking their HIIT class. No matter what class I take, they always get me into shape!! I HIGHLY recommend Titan Gym!

I signed my 5-year old son up for Krav Maga martial arts class, not realizing that the I binding one year contract was completely unreasonable. Yes, I did sign the contract, but man they were completely unreasonable. It appeared to be all about the money. When I had to cancel, they wouldn't even try to work with me by transferring the account over to my 10-year old who was really interested in joining. Nope, they quickly charged me $400 total ($300 to cancel and $100 for the next month that we didn't attend bc they require a 30 day notice).

Each account is tied to an individual, but it's insane when that individual is a minor, especially when under the age of 7. Over that age there are some discipline lessons that could be learned, but to impose a contract under the age of 7 doesn't seem right. Forcing kids to continue attending an extra activity when they no longer have the desire impacts them negatively. Again, I understand applying this level consequence for a kid over the age of 7, but not for a 5-year old.

This was not a good experience and just wanted people to be aware. Both of my boys have attended other types of activity centers. Such a shame!

P.S. I hear the adult programs are very good, but this review was strictly based on the 5-year old program.

I used to lived in the SW side neighborhood when I signed up to train for Krav Maga at this facility. Yes, the neighborhood is notoriously bad based on my standards after living there so many years. But we just have to deal with it. I just had to learn Krav Maga or add one more practical skill in my list besides dabbling on two different sports such as fencing and masters swimming at the same time - not minding the time of getting there and going home late at night by myself. I did survive the training, earned my certificate of completion a year later at the facility and has changed me to a different person after one unfortunate encounter in Belmont (outside the station). It happened so fast! I was sort of tested by an actual stranger one late at night and I couldn't move. I was by myself, too. The attacker was on my face. I was too exhausted to confront the attacker but I managed to disengaged immediately. #Rule 1 in Krav Maga. Luckily, the cops made it just in time to settle us. After I left, I realized it now that my training in Krav Maga was totally worth it in all honesty and it has saved me in that situation! I feel confident, empowered, and lucky to have learned it beforehand. I couldn't have made it and is forever grateful to Daniela, Ivo, John, Ana, Chase, Jaime, and the rest of my awesome instructors. Thank you! I really am grateful to you Titan Gym for everything!

I started at Titan Gym in 2016 and have been very satisfied. I did my research and tried a few Krav Maga gyms before settling on Titan. My trial lesson was instructed by Ivo Boykov, the gym's founder, and had a great mix of physical conditioning, technique instruction, practicality, and an emphasis on aggression. I never got the sense that anyone was selling the techniques as foolproof or template paths to street fighting success, everything came with the caveat that in real street fights these moves would not be performed as gracefully or accurately as in the gym. Individual attention is paid to our drills, with occasional corrective input.

All of the instructors at the gym are great and each has their own approach to the classes. When you've been going for a while you can get a sense of which classes to attend if you want more emphasis on conditioning, technique, etc. Many of the instructors are women which can make for a more welcoming and empowering environment for female participants. The environment at the gym is very inclusive and they even offer free women's and LGBT self-defense sessions every couple of weeks.

The gym also offers a wide variety of classes beyond Krav, so if you find yourself hitting a wall you can always change up and try Muay Thai, BJJ, JKD, Kali, or even a wide variety of yoga and fitness classes.

I highly recommend at least coming in for a free trial lesson, it made a huge difference in my life. I was spending all of my energy on lifting and HIIT, and when I added Krav to the mix I felt like I had found the element that was missing from my development. Titan is a great gym, the people are great, the space is clean, and the lessons are legit.

This has always been my favorite gym. Membership rates are very reasonable -- particularly compared to other gyms in the area. The trainers are very professional and friendly.

Can't say enough good things about the owners of this gym. They really live and breathe martial arts!! Very knowledgeable.

Hard to find a one size fits all gym but this is it! Class is a kickass work out with laughs in between. I never thought that was even possible! All ages, sizes, backgrounds with a singular goal. Defend yourself in every possible situation. Relevant workouts with an awesome group of people. Join me!

My boyfriend and I recently moved to the area and we were looking for a gym. I had never been to a martial arts gym or taken a martial arts class. I typically would spin, run and do the occasional weight lifting class. My boyfriend, on the other hand, has done Muay Thai and jujitsu. I was really intimidated to try a self-defense class. I emailed Daniela to try out a class and she talked me into doing Krav and Fight to Fitness. The classes were engaging for both mine and my boyfriend's levels. I have almost been there a month now and I am obsessed. I have never looked forward to getting to the gym more. The classes are challenging but they fly by. Not only are they a good work out but the thing they stress there is get home safe. For a female living in Chicago I think learning to defend yourself is a great skill to have. The staff is really what makes this place one of a kind. I have only been there a short time but they have been so welcoming. I would advise anyone looking for a gym to check out Titan, just try a class you won't regret it!

I have been going to Titan for almost 2 months now and I can honestly say it has been an amazing experience. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, you are learning an important skill and getting a hell of a workout in the process. Everyone who attends classes are very friendly, and inviting, as cheesy as it sounds there is definitely a sense of community and camaraderie. I would highly recommend anyone to attend just one class, once you do, you will be hooked.
