Silver sneakers godsend
I am weaker than I thought so it is a great way to crawl back and cost 0 dollars. The senior yoga and tai chi sessions are rejuvenating

I get sick every time I start working out here. After one year of constant upper respiratory issues, I called to cancel, website says you have to do in writing with thier from but since I had type A flu I couldn't get in to do till after the next month billed. They refused to credit me for the month that just billed. Dispute record of my call. Poor service!!!!!

Adults go here? Adults DO NOT talk about people constantly. As if you are not there. Many of the staff are so vain. If you glance or even look at them you must be inappropriately looking at them. At the life guard requirements must have changed drastically since i was one. Cause no way most of the lifeguards here can swim 250yrds. I wouldn't trust them to save me or my child.

This review is regarding the picture company they use for sports... I had no idea I was to order and pay today for pictures on picture day... It wasn't in my budget today and my son is in a few other sporting leagues and I get a card to go online and look and choose and order at a later time. It was extremely inconvenient today to have to choose a package in the chaos that is this facility at all times with no pens available to even fill out the form. We have separate homes between the parents and I had to order and pay for my son's dad cuz we had no choice... That is not normal and incredibly inconvenient. I will think twice about signing him up here again. It's incredibly loud and jam packed all the time with very uncomfortable bleachers and the picture issue today put a really bad taste in my mouth.

Everyone is so friendly. State of the art equipment and everything is so clean. We love it here while In town.

The majority of the staff that takes care of the kids are not skilled AT ALL to deal with kids. It seems like they lose their temper quickly with some of the kids. (With the exception of one guy that works there. He seems to be good with the kids)

I personally have heard the staff treat the kids poorly and even yell at them while giving them orders.
I understand some kids are tough to deal with, but yelling and being bitter and rude to the kids is unacceptable.

As a recent member of this gym and as a parent of little ones that come with me, I do not feel comfortable leaving my kids in a place where they are treated with bitterness or where they see other kids being treated poorly. Because of this, I am in some ways regretting joining this gym since a big reason why i joined was so that my kids would be taken care of by a nice staff that actually enjoys their job.

Overall, this gym is great, but I feel that this gym lacks friendly customer service skilled staff and staff that are skilled to work with children.

I called a day prior to inquire about playing pickleball and I explained that I was visiting from another city. The person I spoke with informed me that pickleball was played at 7:30 a.m. on Wed & Fri and for me to only to bring in an id and they allowed 14 guest visits. Well, I showed up at 7:20 and explained to the white male at the desk that I was there to play pickleball & I had spoken to someone the day prior and told me I would have 14 guest visits. He asked if I was a member of YMCA and I told him I was not. He said it was policy to be a member and I was not allowed to play. The person on the phone didn't ask about membership, she just said to come in. Had I known anything about membership, I would not have wasted my time and gas driving over there.

I asked about a military discount as I am retired military with 23 years service. He mentioned something about waiving the fee, but didn't add anything further. When he was talking to me, he had a rude demeanor as he was typing on his computer, didn't apologize for me wasting my time, hardly any eye contact, like I was infringing on his day. Later found out he was the manager....what a poor example of customer service to set. For the reviewer who said the workers don't smile there.... It begins at the top...if leadership isn't smiling, no one else is. Like it was said in 'Remember the Titans'...."attitude reflects leadership"

From the feedback from reviews, they claim to address the customer service issues and unfriendly attitudes. Apparently, nothing has changed.

Great place to work out, always clean, and well staffed, never had a problem with any of the staff, they are always helpful, and polite to me. Just The pool, and the sauna are worth the money , the parking lot is huge with plenty of parking,

I come here with my client every weekend. The staff is horrible! They're so rude. No one smiles.. No one talks to you.. They sit there and talk to each other. I was thinking about getting a membership here but now im not because of that. I worked in customer service all my life and I was very disappointed at the fact no one has ANY great customer service skills.. Plus i asked them to refill the coffee TWICE. Only reason why i come, because i have to..

I've always enjoyed my time at the Y, hsve been a member off and on for many years... no place is perfect but St.Pete YMCA comes close. I am disappointed when the pool is shut doen, and it happens often in the summer, and at times I'm annoyed by people that just sit on equipment and talk or play with their phone; other than that I have been very happy there.

Great place... Great staff!

Came here with my friend who is working out. While waiting, I decided to look around. I barely walked past the desk and I was told I was not allowed to and had to wait seated in the lobby.
All I wanted to do was look through the windows to see what kind of weight equipment they had to see if it was worth joining. It would take me a total of 30 seconds. No. I don't want a tour. I just wanted to look through the window at the equipment.

Been coming here for months. I am a US veteran. Going through back surgeries. Full time student SPC. I spend many hours here, listening to the staff gossip about members. The young ladies behind the desk I must ask. Where does this behavior for into the motto and beliefs of the YMCA? Sad i hear what you have said about me personally and i am offended. Why not ask, talk to a person, find out about them.

All new equipment. There's never a wait for any machines. Competitively priced. Definitely worth it!

I'm a silver sneakers member, I love all the activities and classes geared to senior citizens. The pool is wonderful, completely covered, no sorry about getting sunburned, in Florida that's a big plus. The pool is temperature control so you can swim all year. The fitness room was recently upgraded with all new machines. My only complaint is the parking, there needs to be more concrete or at least gravel spaces. It's a great way to meet new friends and do something for yourself.

I went in to this YMCA having heard good things-but I was very disappointed with the way that I was treated. The front staff did not great me, or look up from what they were doing to acknowledge me. When I told them I had just moved to St. Pete, and asked if they did a trial class or a few days free, they were very rude and told me no, I had to pay $15. I went at 8:30am on a Tuesday and the place was packed. I am upset that a facility so close to me treats people so poorly. So much for a welcome to the community.

We moved to Tampa at the end of April & now go to Carrollwood Y. We miss the St Pete Y, it is so much bigger than Carrollwood & the pool is inside rather than outside. Karen & Heather who lead Silver Sneakers classes in St Pete are both wonderful ladies & did a fantastic job.

Great environment, friendly staff. Plenty of equipment.

Pretty standard for YMCA. The biggest issue is not enough weightlifting equipment, rather limited hours, and the pool closes for several hours neary every day in the summer due to lightning. It's an indoor pool but has an outdoor pump. (For some inexplicable reason)

It's hard to get in the rythm of a good aquatic workout here and I wouldn't come to soley use their weightroom. I'd look elsewhere if you are a swimmer.
