My trainer is the best ! I am so glad that I was assigned to her. Olivia M you make training fun and she makes sure I get a great workout.

I give the friendly staff 5 stars, but because of the dirty facility, outdated equipment, and many nasty patrons, I have no other choice but to give this LA Fitness location a poor rating.For starters, the gym needs to be refurbished and all outdated equipment should be replaced. Since many patrons are grumpy and lack gym etiquette. Rules must be enforced to make it a more pleasant environment for others. And to avoid the spread of contagious deceases, they need to hire more cleaning people because the gym is filthy. Perhaps, posting posters around the facility to remind people to clean after themselves may help or to not hog up machines by texting. Weekends are more pleasant than weekdays.I hope management gets some funding from LA fitness headquarters so they can upgrade some old equipment and that they find a way (email, posters, announcements) to educate rude clients with basic gym ettiquette.

An employee, Dave, (I guess a trainer) should have restraining order issued against him and ordered to be at least a mile away from humans.
If you intend to use any piece of equipment, even as trivial and inexpensive as a medicine ball is, Dave will ensure you don't have access to it ... Even though you are a regular, paying customer of 4 years. How pathetic!
If you intend to keep customers, don't embarrass yourselves and purchase enough equipment.

I go to LA fitness center because it is close to my home. Last week I experienced the worst customer service ever. I was playing racquetball , and one of my fellow players got hurt, and was bleeding, he went to get a bandage, the bandage was too small so he continued to bleed. I went to the front desk to try to help him, I then, met Shannon, she claimed to be the Manager of the facility, I asked her for a bandage because my colleague was still bleeding, Shannon stated they were out of bandages and they don't come in until the 15th, I asked if she could get one? Shannon said no I can't leave my desk. I said ok; could you get a staff member to get the bandage? Shannon again said no. I never once raised my voice to this women. I then said I can't believe your facility is out of bandages and you won't provide one. Then Shannon stated I was ATTACKING HER, I was in total shock. I am in the customer service business, one of the top sales in the industry I certainly would not have made it to the top treating a customer like Shannon treated me. After talking to Shannon she made me feel like I was the problem, not her.

Clean gym, and employees have been okay.. don't expect a greeting or goodbye unless you initiate it. Additionally, this place is in DESPERATE NEED of an update and new equipment. Everything is rusted, rough and borderline falling apart.. Being new to the area I was happy I was so close to an LA Fitness, but I'm disappointed. I will be looking for another location unfortunately... Coming from South Tampa this location doesn't even come close. Update the gym and I guarantee more loyalty and new members. All in all this location leaves much to be desired.

Not good customer service!
Sometimes they would say hi turning their heads the other way!
The location of the equipment is odd! But the sauna is great!

Carpet Floors needs serious cleaning or better replaced with GYM floor friendly. Roof leaking everytime it rains outside. Machines rarely been cleaned.

The gym is clean and for the most part up to date but the staff is just there! Not upbeat not enthusiastic.. I drive south another 7 miles just to go to the drew street location because of the front desk staff!! Chris knows everyone by their name and makes you feel welcomed!!

Great gym. Recently updated design with new floors and new equipment. Repainted and redid the swimming pool. They updated the basketball court as well. They also have a lot of classes and 4 raquetball courts. Great smoothie bar inside as well with food options.

Cleam and organized witb plenty of workout machines and weights . Various classes to take ang helpful staff. I've met a lot of friendly people here and most are serious about trying to get into shape and stay there.

I was a Ballys member on Hillsborough Ave. and when they closed and I moved and Ballys was taken over by LA Fitness. I had no issue about anything. My rate transferred . Never a problem. I do my workout. No one bothers me and it doesn't bother me that the front staff is just neutral when I walk in. I'm there to workout. I agree it would be nice if they stayed open later on Sundays.It would be nice if they brought an actual steam room back. Ballys had them. . It's very good for your lymphatic system. most gyms had them for years without problems. I enjoy this gym so far.

Summary: Equipment is never repaired. Staff is rude. Locker room is gross. They harass you to pay for training.

I suggest reading this before you decide to sign up.
I would give ZERO stars if possible.

This place is garbage to say the very least. At first glance, it's a beautiful, extremely spacious facility with plenty of equipment. Once you have been going for a little while, you'll notice that the staff is not friendly. The trainers harass people for not cleaning up things that the person wasn't even involved in. The trainers aren't very knowledgeable. The equipment is constantly broken or being fixed. For example, the cable machines were broken for 7 months STRAIGHT. They don't care about the customer experience, only the sale. An example? They charge you 15$ for a one day guest pass if you ask in person, but online you can get a free 3 day pass with no problems. At most other gyms they offer free guest passes UP TO A MONTH. This location specifically is just horrible. The locker room smells like piss all day everyday because they use reclaimed water in the sinks. They've constantly made the personal training area bigger which makes the part of the gym others can use smaller. If you didn't catch that hint, you aren't allowed to use the 'personal training equipment'. Also, they have no been harassing my friend who I'm training FREE OF CHARGE WITH NO CERTIFICATION and telling him that if he's being trained by anyone but one of their personal trainers, he could be banned. Essentially, they don't want you to be educated unless you pay for it. This gym is the most unprofessional establishment I have EVER been to. I have many more experiences I could share about friends and family being banned for little to no reason but I'll cut this rant short.

Consistent. Plenty of weights, classes and equipment. Friendly staff that handles heavy traffic during peak times very well. Enjoy working out at the club.

I'm surprised by all the bad reviews here. Joined about a month ago and no issues with equipment, desk staff are friendly, and the person who first showed us around was knowledgeable and friendly. (I think his name is Alan Wilson?) 4 stars because I have yet to use the pool and locker room. Management should pay attention to these comments and start addressing them because if I read these before I joined I may have stayed away!

DO NOT TRUST CHRISTOPHER SOLAR (previously worked at LA fitness hyde park Tampa, now works at LA fitness palm harbor). My friend and I signed up for a personal trainer with him but cancelled within the three day grace period with said personal trainer director, which is penalty free according to the contract. When I asked if there was any further paperwork I needed to complete for cancellation he said no the money would be refunded within a month. Low and behold a month passes and not only has the money not been refunded but they are continuing to charge me for training sessions. When I contacted corporate, they said that he "remembered me but did not recall me cancelling" and that it was basically his word against mine. Check the video tapes from May 17 around 7:30-8 pm when my boyfriend and I came in to cancel with him (although according to my records at LA fitness there are no notes from him of me even visiting that day even though they are required to make a note of every visit). Check my texts with the trainer stating that I already cancelled so there would be no need to schedule with her. Check the fact that I go to the gym multiple times a week but have never used these training sessions. Anyone think it's sketchy that the week I signed and cancelled with Christopher Solar is also the last week he worked there before transferring to his new location and completely avoiding any confrontation about this issue? Who knows how many other people he has done this to! THIS WHOLE PLACE IS A SCAM. When given the chance to look into the issue, they said there was nothing else they could do. I'll be sure to tell everyone to never do business with this company!
