Desperately needs to to be renovated with new equipment because a lot of what this gym has is either broken and/or super old. Compared to the other 24 hour gyms in Orlando this is definitely by far the worst one. I live less than 10mins from this gym but I drive the extra minutes to go to another location like winter park or by UCF.
Good gym but not so happy for each employee makes different information about the gym fees and trials days, makes me miss money and time.
So I just want to do a follow up to the review I wrote 3 weeks ago. After all, you read my side of the story but let me tell you how it all resolved.
I go to the gym 4 to 5 times per week. I don't ask for much only that the equipment works and be clean. And it always is. I see the staff regularly walk around and tidy up by putting equipment away that other members leave laying around. I appreciate that.
I was met the next day, when I came in to work out, by the general manager. I was impressed by the fact that the issue I had the night before had been addressed immediately and was handed the receipt for my purchase. What a fuss I made over a piece of paper.
The point is they took it seriously and I think that's awesome.
Really poor customers service. Purchased a product and asked for a receipt. The desk person could not figure out how to print me a receipt. Another person was called in I said I wanted to return the product I just purchased and was told they could not take the return because I needed a receipt. After more than 15 minutes they finally figured it out. It seemed to Me that it was a big inconvenience to
Them the fix this issue quickly.
Repeatedly asked for my phone number. Then had me sign Back in to get my membership number. At least three people were involved to figure the issue out. I'm the meantime I'm still standing here waiting for a receipt for a purchase I made nearly 20 minutes ago.
After over a year of being a member at this location, I got an email stating that they would be increasing my monthly membership price a few dollars, which would be understandable if the club itself was being properly maintained or updated. They frequently have weight and cardio machines out of order, and whenever it rains, the roof leaks like crazy. For the past week, there have been 5+ trashcans and wet floor signs scattered throughout the weightlifting room upstairs. There is what looks like mold/water stains on the floor and some of the trash cans are nearly full because the staff is clearly not emptying them (which only adds to the musty aroma of this location). This location could use a serious remodel, and hopefully with the few extra dollars they are now charging their members every month, they can afford to do so in the near future.
I work about 10 minutes away and my crossfit gym is about a mile away so I decided to check the gym after a friend convinced me. I thought it would be a good idea to join the gym since it was so close to work. I went with my friend who gave me a day pass. I wanted to try it out before joining. The staff was rude and did not want honor the pass because my driver license shows an address from Kissimmee. They made me pay $25 to work out for the day. Incredible!!!. I wanted to try and I had a pass. I asked to speak with a supervisor but he was to busy joking around with other employees. Very disappointing at the customer service. I was going to join but never mind after that experience.
As a member of 24 hour fitness for the past 6 years, management has gone down tremendously. Today I bring in a guest from out of town. Which the person will be moving to the city in a couple of months. They would not allow a 3 day pass. Had to spend $10 for a guest. I have been to plenty of 24 hours and had guest out of town and they received a guest pass. For all the money the members spend at the gym. The guest pass policy need to change. I recommend people going to a different gym. Go to planet fitness! $20 month and you can bring a guest. Some locations are even 24 hours..

My favorite gym in all the gyms I have been to my entire life all over the us. Number one reason >> Staff members

By far the worst gym I've ever been to very bad experience. BAD MANAGEMENT. I came here to try out 24 Hour Fitness with a free 3-day pass the person behind the front desk said that she cannot activate it for me because the people who activate it are gone they're not here so I had to pay a $25 fee just to work out.
The bathrooms stink like they NEVER clean them up (I LITERALLY COULDN'T STAND THE SMELL). And the sink in the unisex bathroom doesn't work they don't even have a sign up saying out of order or anything. everything is dirty machines don't work the lights are really dim inside very bad experience never coming back here again.
This is the worst management I have ever seen. As a customer for over 10 years I was tired of the broker machines and lack of towels so I cancelled my membership. I have proof my account was cancelled. they have billed me each month for the last 6 months. I have been trying to get someone to help me. Corporate tells me to go to the gym and they can refund me. When I go to the gym I get the run around and no manager is ever available. Today I was told that Kimberly had just clocked out and was still in the building but refused to help me. The rep told me to wait for 1 hour until her lunch was over. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
I've been to a few of the 24 hour fitness gyms in Orlando and this is probably the worst one. The equipment is always dirty and a lot of the machines are broken. They don't even put up signs for the non functional gym equipment. The equipment is very old compared to other 24 hour locations.
Love the staff here! Especially Viet and will and Rico. Love their classes as well!
Back to being good again. Used to work out here, then left, came back and was pretty unimpressed and went back into it sorta half-hearted. That said, I think it's REALLY coming along to what it was months ago. Will (I think is his name), the manager, REALLY cares and I think the Staff is following his energetic lead. Probably the only time I've seen a gym manager ACTUALLY care about the place. Yeah, the equipment is a little old, but for what you pay, you get a LOT. 4/4+ stars here.
Absoultly the worst gym in orlando. Even planet fitness has better service than operations manager Kim and General manager William. If that's really their names. Rude and extremely unprofessional. Save your time and money! Equipment: old! Broken. Bathtooms: unsanitary!. A bunch of kids running the place playing manager. A friend of mines who has a membership too was told to hurry off a machine because she was taking so long. She had cancer. When she explained why she was taking so long, she was told maybe she shouldn't work out. Unbelievable! Thanks Kim!
Great place to work out of you don't mind members not wearing shirts and sweating all over machines & spitting on the floor must be a gym thing?? The fact the weights are all on the machines so you can remove them prior to working out. The guy that eats his lunch each day in the locker room in his underwear is a daily event. Called today to ask if it is normal for people not to wear a shirt & workout on the machines is ok? The manager replied if it was a problem to me I should report it. I explained her staff member walked right into his sweaty ass and said nothing to him. She than repeated, next time say something to a staff member?? She kept repeating the same thing. SAVE YOUR MONEY and go to a different gym. I am ending this membership.
Be careful with join membership! Or with any membership offered by this company, because if you have any problems with your membership you will never resolve it to your benefit. I had a join membership with my friend at this gym where I was a secondary and she was a primary account holder. Somehow 24 hour fitness ended up canceled my membership for non-payment, but continue to charge my card for her part of membership. I did not realize it for a while as I hardly went to the gym, and I just assumed that I was charged for my membership. After hours spend on the phone, 24 hour fitness did not offer any resolution at all, only promised to remove my card. Now I just looked at my bank statement, and saw I was charged again for January. I am extremely disappointed!!!!!!
C'mon the equipment sucks at this gym. For the amount of money spent on a membership why not upgrade the equipment to be consistent with that of the newer locations; i.e Aloma and Apoka facilities. Everything is old and barely functioning.
Really not impressive for the amount of money you pay monthly. Lots of machines not working. People who work there in administration are rude and inconsiderate. I've been in gyms in Tampa, miami and orlando. This ranks one of the lowest of them all. If you have a better option go with it.
Edit: credit to you 24 hour fitness for putting wifi at the gym. Every other gym has it and now you do too. Definitely an upgrade. 2 start to 4 stars
The instructors for the classes are all really great. For body pump I personally LOVE how Patrick runs the class. The entire class you are constantly doing something. A lot of the other ones I feel I spend most of the class changing my weights. He definitely pushes you and alternates weights but how he organizes the class, there is no time wasted. After his class I am pleasantly sore.
But overall, all instructors are great and have their own unique spin on each class.

This place is a joke they are robbing their clients. I once started a couple years back with a promotion they hd at the time no start up fee is what they call it no contract. Well if they wave the start up fee I just found out that you enter a commitment for 12 months. 24 hr fitness should take into consideration that people go through things in life. The first time i lost about 500.00 altogether because i had purchased my friend a membership plus a couple training sessions but that could not be refunded either. I gave them another chance to see if i liked it and i did go for a couple months maybe 3. I had a situation again and again they did the same thing i could not cancel because I was in a commitment period and i would have to pay the remaining months for the commitment and a early cancellation fee. So i waited after 12 months passed and it was obvious it was time for the annual fee which is about the same as their monthly membership. Ofcourse that could not be refunded either even tho i have not visited the gym for over 8 months or so. Their answer was i should of read the fine print on the agreement. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK IN MY LIFETIME NOR I WOULD RECOMMEND THESE THIEFS TO ANYONE. I CAN NOT BELIEVE COMPANIES LIKE THESE STILL EXIST BUT THEN AGAIN THEY KEEP OPENING MORE GYMS WITH THE MONEY THEY ROB PEOPLE.
While this gym is in a great location and has huge potential, 24 Hour Fitness seems to put their worst staff in this location time after time. I've been a member for 4 years due to convenience and thankfully that will be coming to an end. The gym issues range from toilets being out of commission for weeks on end, equipment being out of order for unreasonable amounts of time, pins and clips missing on pully equipment, the jacuzzi being over-chlorinated to the point that chemical burns ensued on member's skin, to the staff not knowing the details of their job.
I once had a staff member ask me to put on a pair of shorts and a shirt while I was in the sauna because I was offending another member. I had compression shorts on. I find it unbelievable that a staff member would ask a member to put on a shirt in the sauna/pool area when it's posted that "A swimsuit is required".
If you're interested in playing basketball, don't bother. Management has a contract with a semi-pro basketball team that practices pretty much daily at the exact time you would want to play (roughly 4pm-7pm).
The jacuzzi over-chlorination issue resulted in two lawsuits because 24 Hour didn't want to make things right with the members. A month of a free membership doesn't make up for chemical skin burns, respiratory burns or the doctor bills, so lawsuits were the only option. 24 Hour admitted to neglect which resulted in the over-chlorination.
With so much to write, I almost forgot the random trash bins all over the gym attempting to catch the water leaking from the roof! This is not a new problem, the water leaks have been there since I became a member in the beginning of 2013. It's obvious they don't have any intentions to fix them either.
Most of the issues could have been resolved by better staff, which I believe the company knows considering they have appointed a new GM four times in the four years I've been a member.
I'm done overpaying for a sub-par gym with awful staff. I'll take my money to golds for $28/month or LA Fitness for $29/month instead of wasting $40/month at this place.
Do not bring your child to this gym's Kids Club area. My wife and I have been a loyal member to 24 hour fitness but now we don't want to step a foot back into this gym ever again. My child pointed to the woman whom I later find out was the manger, Kim. She is extremely unprofessional. Kim has been cursing inside of the Kids Club in front of my children. My children started repeating the profanity Kim was saying as we're leaving the gym. No manager returns my call. I have filed a complaint but no response. This is is unacceptable behavior. My children enjoyed going before but we're looking for a new gym and childcare.
I read the reviews and thought, "let me see for myself". I live in Orlando part-time and thought I would join a gym. I printed out the three day pass and when I arrived they said, "you need to have an orlando address". I explained that I live in two places and I wanted to try it before I bought it because of the mixed reviews on google. The employee giggled and said sorry that's our policy. I said okay and went a block away to YouFit which gave me no hassle and I will be joining YouFit today.
NOT A MILTARY FRIENDLY GYM
Military active duty are supposed to carry a license that reflects their state of residency. This is a federal law that allows them the privilege to be stationed and travel and not have to switch licenses each time. My friend and I stopped in for a trial and they would not allow me to use facility, even if I was willing to pay because I have an out of state license. They tried to haggle me into a membership before letting me see/use the facility.
I am in love with this gym! Sauna, steam room, pool, Jacuzzi?! I don't even work out! I treat this place as my own personal spa 5 times a week!
LA Fitness is way better than this gym.
In 24 hour fitness, you either sign a 1 year contract for at least 47 dollars a month plus 54 dollars annual fee, or if you wanna go month to month, you need to pay 155 dollars before you start, that includes the first and last months plus initiation fee, or if you wanna choose a one month term then it's 70 dollars, and you dont know whats gonna be added later! It is NOT worth it.
With LA Fitness all you have to pay is 30 dollars a month and you can quit whenever you want to!
Absolutely do not recommend 24 hour fitness!
