This gym is a nightmare to deal with. I was month to month and after quitting they stated that I was not allowed to quit without first notifying them 30 days in advance. Their customer service is horrendous. After the 30 days passed they stole $58 from my account as a parting gift despite being month to month. This was after my key was turned off.

I usually like this gym, but they now have both water fountains broken and the only water available is for purchase. That is outrageous! I am checking with consumer council as I think it is a law that business have to have FREE drinking water for patrons.

This review is not for the actual gym it's for Baileys B.S cancellation process. I requested my account be canceled told person on phone that I had to relocate back to N.Y and did not have an address or any type of billing info as we were staying with Family. Baileys doesn't care that a family had to relocate and did not have a new address to give them to prove they relocated. This morning I get an email from them stating that my account will go to collections if not paid. I never said I wasn't paying only relocating because of family issues. I told person over the phone I would pay any fee I needed to get out of the contract but she did not care. BUYER BE WARNED BAILEY'S WILL MAKE YOU JUMP HURDLES TO GET OUT OF A CONTRACT. Like really it's a freaking gym membership get real.

I was diagnosed with leukemia end of May and stop going to gym because I end up in hospital for months, my contract expires in August but I could not visit gym till September to cancel because I saw on my credit card that they kept charging me,once I got there I tried to reson whit them not to charge me,they didn't wanna listen what happened to me even though I never step foot inside Bailey's since May,
End up paying one more month after cancellation and some kind fee around $50-$60
Terrible gym that even ripping cancer patients off

Great gym. Clean equipment and bathrooms. Nice sauna. Busy, but not too crowded, keeps you motivated. Friendly staff, always available for a tip or two.

Make sure you read your contract. Any promotions you get just have the payments you saved added onto the back of your contract.

an academy that totally discouraged me, I called to see if the plan would renew automatically and the attendant said no, at the end of the plan the contract ends and it does not charge any more! now I saw that my plan was over and charged the annual fee and the mendality of my card! I went to solve the clerk tells me that can not do anything, that who answered the phone gave me wrong information and that he could not do anything about it! if I wanted some claim or my refund I would have to go there at another time or call the central office! and now told me that it will charge another month automatically because of the cancellation! I do not even tell my worst enemy! even more that on the hor that I was talking with the clerk who was trying to help me, another clerk was intruding on the conversation, even the boy speaking that was solving she kept saying many things!

Awesome gym with great amenities and friendly staff. All of my friends and family belong to Bailey's and my kids even go to the play area, and everyone loves it. I don't get these people writing negative reviews - I guess you can't please everybody! I have been to gyms all over the US and Bailey's simply cannot be beat.

Beware - been a memeber on and off for many years with most recently a continuous family membership since 2012. We just put in a home gym and tried to cancel and was infomred that we renued and upgraded our membership suposedly last august and the term was externed for 5 years from a sign date of August 2017. We did not need a upgraded membership and we certainly did not sign for this term nor were we presented paperwork ever stating such. Balieys stated that we are financally responsible for the entire amount for the remander of the term.

If your ever trying to seriously get into lifting, find another place. The equipment and overall gym could use some serious updating. This gym is also very unsanitary compared to many other gyms I've experienced.

Corporate has no interest in solving any billing matters even when they are in error. I updated my cc at a location and it never was completed successfully and few months later I get my first trace of any real invoices saying i owe money plus a bunch of late fees. I went to local gym and they referred me to corporate, corporate referred me to local gym and so on. Then I get a collections letter and call corporate over 20x to have it answered only a few times by the same lower level employee who won't let me speak with any manager. I left a message and the manager supposedly told the girl to call me (Not themselves) and offer me a few free months extended onto my contract. Told them I need to speak with that person making that offer and resolve this the way it should be resolved and no call back nothing yet collection letter came again. Horrible business, decent gym. LA Fitness is far superior in customer service and actual gym!

Fantastic staff and classes. I wish there were a couple more classes later in the evening or earlier in the morning because of my work hours but they already have a lot of variety even if it doesn't usually work for my schedule personally. Clean equipment. Any time something is broken, it's addressed immediately. I've had many gym memberships and can't say enough about the people and the facilities.

Very crowded....haven't found a time when it isn't this way. People tend to camp out on the racks and benches making it difficult to get a consistent routine going there. Also, be prepared for a major "bro-fest" with dudes more interested in talking, gawking, or posing....they seem to hog all the space there.

The gym itself is pretty good. Ample equipment, good size, never terribly crowded. The reason for my poor review is the men's locker room/bathroom. Heaven help you if you have to go #2 here......for a gym that is the size of this they have a ridiculously low number of toilets (2 to be exact). At any given time, morning/noon/night, typically one or both are being used and if you are lucky enough to find one not in use, it is often a real mess and can be plugged up and inoperable. There has to be a law somewhere in Jax that allows for a certain # of toilets per 100 square feet....if so, Bailey's is in serious violation of that.

Rather than get new toilets they decide to use valuable space in the locker room for 3 urinals (who needs 3??) and a sauna. Who in their right mind needs a sauna in Florida??? Is this 1973 again?

I have seen feces in garbage cans inside the locker room and, yes, inside showers. Guys are often waiting in line to "go" and management seems unable or unwilling to change this.

Just be sure and "go" before you arrive because you ain't going while in there!

Also, there are about 30 TVs in this gym and about 25 of them are tuned into Fox (Faux) News and they even have a dedicated cardio room for Fox News (ESPN is the other one). Newsflash: Not everyone wants to see that made up hateful garbage while working out. Put some business channels like CNBC or Bloomberg or just keep it on sports channels.

If you know anything about real lifting. This place is complete garbage. Their equipment is the worst I've ever seen. The equipment from the 80s is better than this. You will likely injure yourself here if you try to actually lift. This is coming from a 550+ bencher. This place sucks. Go to the beach and parental location

Be really careful before signing up. I signed up for 2 years contract, but I had to move out of state after 1 year. I paid $50 penalty, 2 months gym fees, and $50 maintenance fee. You also need to send them proof of new address which I sent twice, but they think it is not sufficient. Now, they sent me another bill($169).

I wouldn't recommend This gym. This gym will cost you more.

Great gym. Classes are fun and instructor are helpful. All the staff is really nice and very encouraging. Best part of all is the kid area. They workers are wonderful and my kids beg to go all the time. And they actually dont let sick kids stick around. I absolutely hate when parents drop off sick kids at school or daycare. But not here. I love that they don't let it happen.

BE AWARE!!!! Be aware of the San Jose and Sunbeam location the staff is incompetent and the manager is just as useless. I went with a friend as a guest to attend a Zumba class I followed the protocol to leave my drivers license with all of my personal identifiable information on it thinking its in safe. I was WRONG the staff person working the desk gave my drivers license to a complete stranger who looked nothing like me. We had to wait 1.5 hours for the person to come back to get the correct ID. Who knows what she could've done with my information. I requested a year worth of identity protection they counter offered with a resolution. DON'T ATTEND THIS GYM OR IF YOU'RE A GUEST DON'T LEAVE YOUR ID!!!

I just drive a half hour to get to this location for the basketball court. I called before going in and asked if I could use a guest pass to check out the facility. They told me to come in and they'd let me check it out. I show up and they tell me I need proof of recidency in order to use the guest pass. I just moved here last week, so I don't have any mail with my name on it. So they tell me I'm out of luck and I just can't get in. Horrible service. They didn't tell me this before when I called and asked. Wish I could give 0 stars
