I am a licensed massage therapist and there comes a time when I need a massage myself. Jothi Vita is a block from my apartment so I decided to try them out. The place is immaculate, bright and sunny. The staff is welcoming. My massage therapist was friendly but he answered a text message in the middle of my massage. Big no-no.
I'd asked for a deep tissue. The massage I received had firm pressure but also included lots and lots of oil in my hair - like an ayurvedic massage. When I checked out, I took a brochure and discovered that I'd been charged $15 more than their advertised deep tissue massage. When I called to get it cleared up, I was told that a "traditional deep tissue massage" had been added to their services, but it wasn't printed or added to their website yet. I said I didn't receive a "traditional deep tissue" because all the oils that were used were obviously ayurvedic and I felt a little ripped off.
They later sent me an email showing the higher priced traditional deep tissue on the webpage for online booking. I insisted that I couldn't have seen that since I booked over the phone. Haven't heard anything more from them. So as far as customer problem resolution is concerned, they are lacking. All I wanted was a $15 credit for a future visit, but management is nonresponsive. I'm not sure that I would go back, even though I'd like for a local business to thrive in my neighborhood. But there are just too many other choices in Broward and Dade for massage for me to go to the trouble.
