Best gym in town, and really the only gym. A gym should be a place where one goes to move heavy things, and train; not exercise. The staff is great, and the equipment is top notch.

Really hard to get ahold of have been wanting to get new knee sleeves i here great things about them but tried to contact you guys to ask questions and never get anything in return I have called 15 times left emails and never had any respond so I went with another brand would love to try the ABC sleeves out if anyone could contact me.
Great gym. Small, but pure and absent of pompous crosfitters with a large population of strong lifters. Staff are great as well.

I could write a love song here, but I'll stick to what makes this place the best gym I've ever had the experience of belonging to.
First of all, the equipment selection is second to none. They have everything you can imagine. Ropes, kettle bells, reverse hyper machine, mono lift, deadlift platform with deficit blocks, every specialty barbell you can dream of, a full line of Olympic weights and free chalk and resistance bands and weight belts!
Secondly, is the atmosphere. This gym doesn't have brightly painted walls with today's top 40 music blaring in the background. Everything is precisely utilitarian. This gym makes you want to train harder. When you come here you know you are here to put in hard work and reach your goals. No mirrors causes you to have to "feel" your movements as opposed to staring at yourself and everyone around you. Better focus.
Thirdly is the clientele. Everyone here is friendly, motivated and ready to help if you need advice, or just a spot. The staff is supremely knowledgeable, and they make sure everyone feels welcome.
The price is the best value I've seen for a gym with this much equipment. You have the ability to go month to month, or sign an agreement and get a hefty discount.
Hands down the most motivating place in Gainesville to reach your fitness goals whatever they may be. If you want to be strong, if you want to be fit, this is the first and last stop on my list.

The only place in the area where serious training is embraced, not shunned. The staff are extremely personable, knowledgeable, and qualified strength athletes. Contracts are extremely friendly, boasting no sign-up or cancellation fees of any kind. A training facility without limits creates athletes without limits.

I've tried almost every other gym in Gainesville, and there really is no comparison to American Barbell Club. ABC has competition grade equipment for every fitness goal, while still having the lowest price in town. More importantly, the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They will go above and beyond to accommodate any need you may have. I can't imagine going to any other gym.

Over this time, I have progressed from the normal weekend warrior to the avid powerlifter who takes gym time very seriously. Also during this time, I have attended multiple gyms, with many different environments.
With that being said, American Barbell is the best gym I have ever gone to. The owner, John, is an outstanding guy, who knows how to give the people the gym they deserve. He does not add in all the corporate crap that many big gyms do, such as making two year contracts or creating lots of rules (no chalk, no loud noises, no lifting heavy weights, no outside equipment, etc.) that restrain lifters from being able to have the freedom they need. ABC has a monthly membership (at an amazing price), with the option to sign up for group fitness classes. John provides some of the best equipment found in the fitness world and lets you have the freedom to go about your business. ABC also has an excellent staff, consisting of some great people.

American Barbell Club is an awesome gym ran by a great group of guys and a very knowledgeable staff. It provides a unique lifting environment that one would not be able to find anywhere else in Gainesville. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. Great prices and service. Hoping to make another trip to Gainesville in the near future to train there again!
