I've been a member of the Y for many years and they've really improved since I first joined. They recently received a donation of state of the art equipment in the fitness area that rivals any other gym in town. Plus I really love the environment. There's no pretense and everyone is treated like family. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

If I could give this place less than a star I would.
The Executive Director Steve M Szanca is a pawn in the game their board of directors is playing.
The board of this organization does not advise the organization for improvement. Szanca does not make any decision this is why there is no A/C in the facility. They have children in classrooms that are over 90 degrees. The plumbing in the facility would not pass inspection.
Their water mains have plants growing out of them which means they have failed Fire Department codes. I am certain they are dumping pool water into the ditch next to the road. EPA VIOLATIONS!!!
The pool has black algae happily growing. I'm sure the rest of the facility had black mold. Why has this place not shut down??????

SCAM ALERT. DO NOT... I REPEAT..DO NOT REGISTER YOUR KIDS FOR SWIMMING CLASSES HERE. THEY COMPLETELY MISINFORMED CUSTOMERS AND THEY HAVE A COMPLETE MESS ON THEIR OPERATIONS. WE WERE SENT HOME AT THE FRONT DESK WERE THEY STATED TGAT THE POOL WAS CLOSED DUE TO BAD WEATHER WHICH WE UNDERSTOOD. A MAKE UP SESSION WAS OFFERED WHEN PAYING FEE BUT THEY ARE CLAIMING THAT IT DOES NOT EXIST. NOW, THE ACUATIC TEAM IS CLAIMING THAT THEY NEVER CLOSED. RIDICULOUS A COMPLETE SCAM.

The staf are always helpful and friendly and the membership prices are very reasonable. Not a crowded gym with a bunch of juiced up muscle monkeys performing endless self adimirng poses at every mirror passed. Lots of new equipment as well .

We just had my son's 4th birthday party there. We booked just a couple days in advance and they did a good job of getting staffing last minute so he and his friends could run around and jump in the gymnastics gym and a bounce house. The "party room" across the hall had a chalk wall the kids enjoyed drawing on. The facility could benefit from some TLC but the low price, last minute accommodation of our event, and friendly and helpful staff more than makes up for it. We'll remember this place for next year.

While looking for after school options for my son, who is 10 and has Autism, only the YMCA said yes. This organization said yes from the first moment we met them. They took great care of my son. He enjoyed every minute there, so much so that he looked to going to the Y every day. The staff is super nice. The NCFYMCA is absolutely the best.

We love the YMCA! Karlton's Circuit Training class is the BEST class I've ever taken. It's challenging and he changes it up every day. I've heard his other classes are fantastic! The staff is friendly! My girls love the childcare plus you get an hour and a half so you have time to work out and shower. We also love the pool and swimming lessons. Very affordable for the whole family!

The weight room is large, well stocked and rarely busy. They have nearly every weight room equipment one would ever want. They have a set of weight machines for kids 8 and up. Boxing, when they offered it, was excellent (not currently offered, hope they bring it back). My kids liked parkour. They look to add capoera. Pool is comfortably heated but in need of resurfacing.

The YMCA has had some significant issues in the past, but they have really turned things around and made this a good place to be. The "performing arts center" is especially good, gymnastics and other movement classes for all ages of athletes, they put together great competition teams that often do very well. Their instructors are sometimes too young to really handle the demands of teaching children, which can be problematic, but you can tell they are genuine and mean well.

I can't speak for much of the rest of the YMCA facilities as I've not really been to most of them, but the gym is great (despite the building itself needing a bit of love and repair)

Child Care:
Do not let the price of summer camp fool you, this is indeed no such thing as "summer camp". There are no lesson plans, no coordinated activities, just a schedule of changing locations. The counselors make minimum wage, receive no proper training (CPR, first aid, etc.), have groups of 25 kids each, and have no supplies. Pay the extra money and go else where. "Summer camp" at the Y is more like glorified babysitting. Management really needs to step up and take control.

Pool:
The pool has seen its better days, it really needs some TLC. But in the Florida summer heat it is nice to get a dip in a pool. There are a lot of rules at the Y pool, but it is needed to ensure safety.

Gym:
Clean, nice, quiet.
