I never write reviews online. However, I had such a good work out session with one of the personal coaches, Andrea. She's incredibly encouraging, and a lot of fun to work with!
I am prone to hurting myself while lifting and she was incredibly attentive about preventing any injuries. I highly recommend her!
I really enjoy this gym for multiple reasons. It's within walking distance to my house and since I am there at 5 am, I usually have no problem getting in and getting out quickly. The staff are all friendly and the gym is always clean. I do wish this location was 24 hours a day, but I understand that the low volume during certain hours prevents this. One thing that I think personal coaching could improve on would be the assessment they give. I think that they push a little too hard for people just trying to get back into the gym. For me, I was so sore and beaten down after the assessment that I didn't go back to the gym for two weeks. After the assessment, it was recommended that I have a training for one day a week. Personally, I'm not paying $20+ a month to visit a gym once a week. Add on top of that an $80 training session and in one month your bill would be $340 for 4 days in the gym over the whole month. I realize that these trainers are trying to get clients to make money, but my recommended training plan was a little ridiculous. I now go to the gym 3-5 times a week and have my own workout plan/diet in place. Perhaps the "free" assessment should just focus on gathering measurements with a simple strength test instead of focusing on pushing trainer sessions. Just my two cents.
Not impressed. Went in to look around and ask about membership....staff wasn't very helpful or friendly. When comparing to other competitors, YouFit didn't meet all the criteria I needed. Pricing is comparable to other gyms but does not have 24/7 access everyday. Good location with easy parking, but there are better gyms in town.
Needs more space and adjustable benches in the free weight area because there are so many members trying to workout! Plenty of everything else though. For the price, it's well worth it. At 2am in the morning it's heaven. 11/29/18.
Love this gym. The quality and people are fantastic. My only complaint is no child care like some Youfits have, can't win them all though.

If you are trying to cancel.... good luck. They need you there in person to do so.

Super clean, extremely professional trainers, unbelievably affordable and friendly staff...what's not to like?

They have a cancellation fee scam going on. Be very wary of signing anything here. They also make you use your bank account so you have very little protection. They know it will cost you more to stop payment than to pay them off. Yes, I read in other reviews they say this is to be more secure, but that is absolute hogwash. The truth is, you're way more secure and insured against this type of shady business with a credit card.
I was told I could send an email in leiu of going to purchase an envelope, stamp, and handwrite a letter to you fit (sound scammy?) because I am out of town but that he would not cancel my membership without giving him $10 to cancel and would keep billing me monthly for a membership I have expressed in writing and verbally I wish to cancel and was more than willing for him to bill be like any other normal business would.
His is the same scammy type behavior gyms were doing in the 80's and why they all went out of business and none are around anymore. If you fit was smart, they would actually listen to these 1 star reviews which all seem to be about this very uncustomary, unsavory cancellation fee for processing BEFORE they will cancel instead of platitudes and responding to them all with "we're sorry, always trying to improve" and not actually improving.
Nobody does this. All the good companies that stand out in your mind are very generous with cancellations and even refunds for non-use, which I'm not even arguing here although I could, and that is why they stay positive and we'll regarded in the minds of customers. This is just a black eye in the gym and fitness industry, or especially to You fit. Spend your time and effort elsewhere.

I love this place. The first time visiting they were amazing. Everyone is so nice.

Excellent gym and very friendly staff. Free one day workout too when you fill out the online form. Smith machine and plenty of free weights, squat racks, and cardio machines!
I've been a member at YouFit for a month or two now. For the price, I can't complain.
Pros: It's got all the basic equipment that anyone should need to get a good workout, friendly staff, and is clean.
Neutral aspects: Because of how affordable YouFit is they have to push to upsell you for services like their premium membership and personal training services. All of the upgrades are definitely worth it if you want them, however I found it to be a bit frustrating to have to repeatedly tell them I only wanted the basic package.
Cons: None specifically. Most gyms do this in Gainesville, but it is worth noting that YouFit charges a small membership fee yearly in addition to your monthly dues. The yearly fee takes effect 90 days after you begin your membership and will not be charged if you cancel your membership before then.
All considered, it's a pretty good place to workout and run. Definitely reccomend.
I love this gym because I never feel unwelcome there and the front counter staff are always very friendly and take the time to answer any questions I have. I had a concern about lack of open air space to conduct HIIT/free weight training and I emailed the Operations Manager Harrison. Within the day he took the time to write me back and he explained liability issues as to why they can't open up the studio room out of group hours. I am not an "exclusive" member nor do I take the personal training sessions so he could have brushed me off but he didn't.
The rush hours can make the space crowded but if you focus on cardio I've never had an issue finding a machine even during the busiest times. Their restrooms and changing rooms are always impeccably clean. The location is great because it's next to Earth Fare so it's easy to stay on track health-wise.
Love this gym!
Great selection of equipment, friendly staff, attractive setting. Modest membership fees of $15 or $25 per month. Crowded in the evening.
The gym was fine, but after I moved to Massachusetts they refused to allow me to cancel my membership without being physically at the gym and continued charging me. I had to tell my bank to refuse payment.
Friendly staff. Good environment. Ok amount of equipment. Need more variety of workout machines.
It's been almost a month now and the only decent water fountain at this gainesville location has been out of service. I find this a ridiculous and inexcusable flaw for this Youfit. Water is an imperative part of everyone's work out. Forcing your guests to bring water bottles due to lack of funding is unacceptable. I come to this gym everyday and am counting them until this issue is resolved and improved.
This is the most unprofessional gym I have been a part of. I have worked out at dozens of gyms across the country and trust me when I say their management is screwing You! Good luck trying to cancel your membership! They will gladly charge you years down the road for it!
Youfit, one of the many gyms that currently populate Gainesville. What does this gym differ from the other? It's their membership fee. Depending on the season and their running specials, their average price is $10 a month plus tax. Perfect for the local college students, scarce on funds.
Equipment: all of the equipment is well maintained. The gym is equally divided in thirds, for cardio, machine weights and free weights. They might not have any rogue fitness equipments, but what they do have satisfies majority of anyone's needs. There's a staff member that comes in around midnight, and he wipes down what he can and re-racks weights, that lazy members can't put back. That guy is a real MVP! Give him a raise!
Service: the staff is courteous. There's always someone there to greet you when you come in and when you leave. They offer several cardio classes during the week. But it's only for lime card holders, which is about $20 a month. But they also have additional perks with lime. Monday through Thursday they operate 24 hours. Friday til 10pm and Saturday and Sunday it's til 8pm.
Ambience: it's has that Planet Fitness vibe, with its theme colors green and purple. Majority of the time it's packed, besides early morning. At night the crowd starts to die down around 10pm.
It's 10 bucks a month. Of course there are stupid fees when you sign up and I've heard also when you cancel. But for 10 bucks a month it's about as good as it can get. It's fairly clean (yes people don't always wipe stuff down and once they were out of paper towels, but that's why I bring a gym towel). The people are nice. It's not super crowded in the morning. If you want a cheap, fairly decent place to get a basic workout or personal training sessions in, it's great!
Good price point and lots of machine options. But the gymgoers barely clean the machines because they only have 3 sanitizing spray bottles in the gym. Many times the machines will be dripping with sweat. Recently they were even out of paper towels so you couldn't clean the machines if you wanted to. If a sanitary gym is what you're looking for, and you're able to pay more for a membership, try somewhere else.
Employees are super nice and friendly. I love it here. People cycle in and out during the busy hours so you usually don't have to wait long for weights. It's worth it for the price!
Great gym without the high cost. We changed to this gym because we were paying so much for another gym and just didn't feel it was worth it. For about $10 a month this gym is excellent. All the free weights, machines, and classes as a bigger gym without the hit to your pocket.
Probably one of the best gyms in Gainesville. You definitely get what you pay for and more here. The gym is divided in several sections by the types of machines/equipment you will be using. There are a high number of treadmills and arc trainers that are offered there with a couple of stair masters, able row machines, and octane fitness machines as well. There is the free weight section which includes 2 bench presses, 2 incline benches, a Smith machine, a couple of squat racks, a leg press, sit down calf machine, a fixed military press, cable towers/W pull up bars and a lot more. Then there is the cable section which spans across the whole gym that includes cable machines for the majority of your muscle groups. Then there is the you stretch area In the back of the gym where you have a good amount of room to do body weight exercises, it has mats, weights, equipment for abdominal workouts and a stretching cage. Last but not least is the GX room which is where the have classes for members and where the personal trainers they offer there take you to workout one on one. They have 7 paper towel dispensers and 6 spray bottles around the gym so people can clean up after themselves. I noticed that a youfit cleaner is pretty much always around cleaning the place up so the gym is clean almost all the time. Then there are the locker rooms/bathrooms where they also have 2 showers for you. As you can see the gym has a vast variety of options for you to enjoy for at least 10$ a month. They have promotions all the time here for people wanting to sign up so give them a call and ask about any promotions or specials going on.
Clean, youthful and well kept. Not to mention the great price... You fit is a great place to work out and has all of the standard gym fare. Just remember to bring a towel as they charge for them but showers and daily lockers are provided for no cost. Of course you do have to bring your own lock for the lockers. The trainers are also great and gym is like a little south west on campus made up of mostly college students.
