Great value and never too busy

Equipment is breaking down and after having seen the extra surcharges and cancelation policy I've decided one star is appropriate.

Terrible management. I was supposed to receive annual fee waiver as part of promotion, but never did. They never sent any receipts via email as they are supposed to and found out they don't even have my email on file. People working here completely useless.

Worked out there over the course of 2 years - equipment was manageable but for the most part older, sometimes broken... Always a wait for most weight equipment.... Was charged an annual fee for membership even after cancelling a month before renew date.... Cheaper compared to most local gym's but not worth the cost savings

As an authentic Brooklynite, agree this Sports Club is better than the Sports clubs in Brooklyn (not Manhattan)

If I could give this location 0 stars I would! For the past 2 months their equipment has not been working. I was told that they would soon replace their bench press machine and it took them literally 2 months to even do that. On top of that their automated system charges you late fees after 24hours. I was told by the attendant at the front that they charge a late fee after the 5th of the month. I cancelled my membership at the beginning of the month and to this day I am still getting charged for my dues and annual fee. When I called to ask about a refund I was told they do not give refunds and I would be wasting my time if i even tried. I have contacted corporate and I'm hoping to get this issue resolved.

Your better off joining Gold's Gym and paying the same price for all locations.

Highly disappointed with my experience at this Location!

Horrible staff.

Someone need to tell the staff that, they are in the customer service business.
Specifically when they answer the phone oooh and you will never get a chance to talk to a "manager " he or she is always in a meeting LOL...

I have to weigh in against the complaints about cancelling memberships. I needed to cancel mine, slightly outside of the guidelines of the official policy. The manager worked with me and was accommodating. The gym is alright and for the price and location you can get a really good deal if you catch them on a special.

Signed up on a weekend and unfortunately the system was running slow, so the rep wrote down my credit card information and asked that I fill out an information card (my information was to be later entered in the system (that should have been the first red flag)). The next Monday, after scanning in and working out, I was approached by a police officer for the use of a "stolen credit card." Long story short, the airhead manager erroneous entered my information in the system, the police officer apologized to me and told me to contact the corporate office because the manager was clearly at fault. Needless to say, I was humiliated and terrified. I immediately contacted corporate to file a complaint (and a lawyer), sent emails back and forth to the general manager, Giganti (who was of no help), and found out my credit card information was stolen!!!!!! I complained to the GM, and he said my credit card info. was safe. This was a few years ago and I am still trying to remove items from my credit report. Just got a letter from the Colorado Police Department (Colorado Springs) stating that my credit card information was found in a seize. Yes! I'm serious. Funny how I've never had credit theft issues in my life prior. Hmmm.... If anyone from the Sports Club wants to follow-up with me about my account of the situation, I have a reference number for you. I really don't understand how this location is still open. The manager should be investigated for fraud.

Out of towels often and staff isn't very friendly. WiFi is hit or miss and being in a basement you can't get reception.

They attract people with prices that seem to be lower than their competitors in the area, but you should not fall for it. They have many hidden fees that they do not disclose in the beginning. And it is a big disappointment because I only went there for the price. Most of the machines are old and broken. And the staff is incredibly rude. Avoid avoid avoid.

Dedicated and informative teacher who is very knowledgeable about sports injuries. Love that guy and this class. Gym is ok. The staff is making a big effort to get it together. Very clean and modern equipment. Never crowded.

Was a member for a little over a year. They offered a deal to Meridian of Gallery Place residents and I came to inquire about it. The front desk woman was the rudest, most unprofessional person I've ever come in my entire life and to my surprise the general manager gave her a run for her money and was almost as rude as her. I canceled my membership on the spot. To any perspective members, do not join. I don't care if it's $2 a month. I'd rather do pushups on the street by the metro than deal with the unprofessional, rude, petty, incompetent management that runs the place.

Tough luck if you don't know what you are doing. I bought my membership online, so when I went to my home club I thought I would get a tour, nope. They offered no help at all. Fortunately there are apps. They make it almost impossible to move your home club or cancel by requiring you to go into the club. That's fine, but it's really designed for you to forget and keep giving them money. The club is clean. The shower I uses was cold. There are hairdryers and lotion in the room. You also get a towel.

Cancelled my membership in person, with over a 30 day notice, twice. Had my credit card, which was tied to the auto paid, lost. Yet, they have managed to obtain my new credit card number, without my permission, and charged me. I shall be disputing these charges as fraud charges and perhaps identity theft. Not sure what they did to obtain my credit card number without my knowing.

Both representatives instantly turned rude upon acknowledging that I was attempting to cancel my membership. Neither had any accurate information. One said I needed 45 notice to cancel. The other then said 30 days notice. Cancellation information on my account advises neither timeframe mentioned.

This place will not disappoint if one wishes to live through the nightmare scenario of dealing with a gym membership.

I shall be advising anyone who asks about a gym in the area to stay away from WSC Gallery Place. Will also be filing a dispute with the Better Business Bureau. This place does not deserve the one star Yelp forces me to enter to write a review. Shameful and shady business practices.

I visit this gym in the mornings during the week, and I look forward to my workouts each and every time in part because of the guy who works the front desk.The gentleman who works at the front desk is beyond friendly and motivating! Sometimes as I ride the stationary bike near the front, I watch as he literally welcomes, jokes, and has short convos with every person who enters and leaves the gym! Working out is tough especially when you are by yourself, and to know that we all have a cheerleader makes a world of difference!
