After coming to Authentics for nearly a year, I cannot speak highly enough of Nariman and this studio! I kept coming back because there's really nothing else like this in DC. You'll get an unparalleled level of individual attention: that means learning how to perform exercises properly, reducing chances of injury, and dramatically increasing strength and flexibility. I have watched myself get progressively stronger and more capable in the gym, and look forward to continuing to do so!
I loved my first session here "Upper Body & Core". Studio is unconventional: Art gallery setting with maximum class size of 3, so you get a lot of attention ie. no cheating! Frequent, effective modifications are demanded by Nariman, and class flow is also excellent. It built up and closed out smoothly, so I left feeling euphoric and pain free, despite straining to my physical and mental limits.
I started going to Authentics about four months ago with a lower back injury. I went from not being able to sit for more than an hour to being almost totally pain free. Nariman makes sure every position is correct, and the workouts are totally tailored to our injuries and abilities. I've improved in every muscle group and even started working on pull ups, which I didn't think I'd ever be able to do even without the back injury.

I would highly recommend working Authenics, you wont find a better solution!

I've been attending classes at Authenics for two months, once per week. I'd been having hip pain while running for months. After just 4 classes here, the pain went away! It was so unexpected, and a huge relief. Since then, the pain has not come back and my range of motion has continued to improve. I had not truly realized how tight my hips were until I started coming here.
I feel so lucky to have found this studio. The membership costs about the same as my PT copay, and these classes are actually fun (great music, nice people)! Plus, I personally feel Nariman's attention to form is unparalleled. His classes are really unique because he works with your current abilities, even in a group setting. For example, if you can't do a proper squat, he'll give you the exercises to help you get there. And on the other hand, he also has advanced students who give me something to aspire toward :) He manages to give everyone very individualized instruction, even when they're at different skill levels.

I enjoy the personalized classes and fitness plan provided. I definitely feel the difference in my shoulders and knees.
Nariman planned a tailored program based on my body type and my goals. He's incredibly knowledgeable about injuries and stretching that helps the body recuperate after his workouts. I've lost overall body fat/weight (around 9lbs so far), and gained muscle mass because of his simple, but challenging workouts. When I started I wasn't able to even begin to do a pull up, but w/ light assistance bands I'm doing 3 sets of 5 on upper arm workout days.
I've quit all my other boutique fitness programs/classes because Nariman's classes have given me better results, and it's so much more reasonably priced. You never have more than 4 people to a class, its a circuit workout, and it kicks your ass by usually just using your body weight and free weights/medicine balls.
This place is great. Not only is it a workout space, but it has beautiful artwork all over the place! It's a really cool contrast to the gym equipment. That being said, the workouts are great too. Nariman is very knowledgeable, patient, and he pushes you with encouragement instead of shouting at you. You don't worry about pushing yourself because he is so adept at ensuring your form is correct. He will have you slow down and do it over until you have the movements just right - very unusual as I think most places just let you work out and never correct.
I have never had such good workouts! Nariman always finds fun ways to help me build strength and flexibility. He is also incredibly patient and supportive as I learn new exercises, and he does a great job tweaking my form so I don't injure myself. He even cured my back pain by helping me build and stretch different muscles. He really is the best trainer ever.
Nariman is fantastic. In just 5 weeks, I feel like I have a much better plan for my fitness goals, not simply from an exercise perspective but from a nutrition perspective as well. Builds a great rapport with his clients and is a calm teacher. Great for anyone looking to get back in shape or looking to get in shape for the first time. Thus far, really enjoying growing with Authenics.
Nari is amazing! I decided to try out Authenics after hopping around various studios in D.C. and not seeing results. The classes really do give you a personalized program in a group atmosphere. I had various weaknesses around my body and overall poor strength and my body fat percentage was a bit higher than I would have liked. Not only have I dropped a couple of sizes in clothes but for the first time in my life I am doing proper push ups! The range of motion with my body has increase and I find myself walking around with much better body awareness. As others have said 10/10!
I love authenics! The workouts are amazing and I've lost 10 pounds, but most importantly my body feels super strong. I also got my LCL rehabbed after I tore it playing soccer and was back on the field in no time! Highly recommend if you're looking for an amazing trainer and cool personal training studio.
The workouts are comprehensive; they're energizing and challenging, and Nariman tailors them to your current abilities. I really appreciate the small class sizes and opportunity to get personalized training. I never thought I would look forward to working out each morning. I'd recommend Authenics to anyone who's interested in a whole body workout, no matter your fitness level!
If you want to be able to properly do all kinds of exercises, see progressive results, lose weight and fix any tightness or pain then this is the place for you. Authenics is "everything" fitness building strong bodies from the ground up!
