I checked out SoulCycle with a friend recently. We attended a 5:30 class that had some open seats. Since it was our first spin, it was free (including shoes). This spin class requires clip in shoes, but if you don't have your own, you can rent them for a fee. Water is also available for a fee. Anyway, you pick your bike before you enter the room, which is nice. The room is dimly lit with a stage and a large mirror behind the instructor; however, once the class gets going, don't expect to see yourself because it gets SO hot that the glass fogs. I took my class with Megan and she was WONDERFUL. She had such great energy. Staff is very helpful if it's your first time. They are quick to set up your bike and a towel is waiting for you as soon as you sit down. Also, if you don't know how to clip in/out, staff is ready and available to help. I LOVED my class at SoulCycle, but for $30 a class, I can only give it 4 stars.
