This is a decent location. The gym never seems clean enough though. The morale in the gym is average for this brand but at this specific location there are always weights and dumbbells EVERYWHERE. It is so out of hand. They absolutely need to upgrade their bathrooms and take more pride in the overall cleanliness of the gym as a whole.

We are in 2020 and you still didn't have WIFI. I can get free WIFI in a public bathroom in the middle of nowhere. Come on guys!

My husband and I usually go to the Newington location; however, Arlington is on our way from work. We prefer to workout and then fight the traffic through Old Town. Jamie and DM Rick were very welcoming to us. We have had great workouts here before 4:30pm.

There was one recumbent bike last week that made an awful ruckus, but this week no awful noise!

The parking garage is a challenge to enter and exit due to the slope and poles. Parking pass is only good for two hours from the time stamped on the ticket. It is helpful to know what floor you parked on versus the gym location on the ground floor.

Stopped by on my lunch break to tour the building, it's an amazing facility, especially for the price. Ric, the GM there was super helpful in walking me around the building and making sure I got the right memership.

I can't wait to start reaching my fitness goals here!

I've been to many LA Fitness' during my travels and this is the dirtiest and least kept up gym I've seen in 3 years. Members are great and eager to help but the staff is not interested in anything you say if it's a complaint. Manager is by far the least approachable and sits behind her desk doing NOTHING....management should replace her ASAP. A new manager would do frequent rounds of the gym, have their pulse on what need to be done and get it done. I'm not the only one who feels this way about the manager ( I think her name is Celena?). Other members complain about her.....
Don't think I'll be returning anytime soon!

The physical facility is spacious, but not always clean. Usually the front desk staffers are consumed with their own private conversations. There are a few who go out of their way to be helpful..

I've been going to this location for almost 4 years now. Overall, it gets the job done and has all the equipment I need. The location is ideal for me. It's still a commercial gym with cheap membership, so as expected, it gets packed. I was told 3 years ago wi-fi is coming to this gym, still no wi-fi and phone reception is a bit spotty downstairs. The front desk staff are nice and always greet you. There's plenty of cardio equipment (good luck seeing all 4 stairmasters fully in service for more than 2 weeks), cable machines, weight machines, 2 squat racks , 1 power cage, and a decent amount of benches.

A lot of the clientele do not know how to rerack their weights or put back equipment they've taken. Some people like to use benches as phone and water bottle holders and they are "using it" when you ask. A majority of the people are respectful and pleasant to share the gym with, but there are a few randoms that have gawking problems.

Parking sucks here. You have to park in a garage and only have 2 hours to get to/from your car and finish your workout or you'll have to pay. This is not the gym's fault, but the building's parking management is just awful. Even when their parking sensor is broken, someone will literally sit there with a cone and make you stop and wait, so they can check the time on your ticket. They also have signs that say they're not responsible for mechanical failure if that doesn't tell you how great they are.

I only signed up to use the pool, and 3+ times I've gone there to swim in the morning, the lifeguard has shown up at least 30 minutes late - one time, he was over an hour late. So they don't open the pool, even though when the lifeguard is there, he is texting and hardly watching the water. For those members who want to swim before work, this throws off your entire day. I wrote the manager to complain about the issue, and of course, no response.
For the past week now, the pool has been closed due to some leak or issue. The key lockers are always busted or someone has locked them all.

I've since cancelled my membership, but even that was a nightmare, since they made me come in person between 9-5. When I went, it was a one-minute process. I guess they can't teach anyone else to press a cancel button. Such a hassle coming here - totally unpredictable club. Don't advise signing up.

Pros: Bottom level is really spacious. A lot of weight machines. Older weight plates, nothing to complain about. Cardio machines are newer. The snack/health bar adds a nice touch. Free parking in the garage for 2 hours as LA validates your parking ticket. Overall, a good gym to get your workout in.

Con: The clientele here...lots of people who don't rerack their weights, who sweat on machines/benches and don't bother to wipe, and, most annoying, who drop their weights making loud crashing sounds when they hit the ground, whether it's free weights or machine weights...they just dropped it from 100% effort to 0% while weights are in mid air. It is really annoying and it damages the machines and weights which I'm sure these guys don't gaf.

I went in person to cancel my membership, and discovered the following month that it was not cancelled (when I called the club to notify them of the issue, I was told it was the manager who did the cancelling). I asked her several times if there was anything else I needed to do, etc. I was assured I would no longer be charged and that I was all set. I was charged the following month and there was no documentation to support that I had gone in and done this - corporate even asked if I received a printout, etc because there was no note on my account that I had requested my membership be cancelled. So buyer beware. There are plenty of gyms in the world, I won't be back to this one.

Pretty nice, lots of equipment to choose from and very clean. When I first started, my personal trainer provided was very helpful.

Gym as ghetto as can be. Bathrooms so nasty. The people working out were mostly stuck up and not really good to be around.. staff was fine but the gym lacked a good gym. It was like being in a house basement gym horrible . And not to mention parking sucks

Overall an decent gym. I love that there are multiple locations that are close and convenient to my home, job, and other places I frequently go to. Very clean locker rooms. Weights needs be properly reracked. Equipment needs to be taken care of better. Did not like how the front desk attendant asked me to find a janitor to take care of broken equipment when janitors are not easily identifiable at this location. At other gyms when I told the front desk about equipment not being smooth, an attendant would immediately tend to it with some WD-40. Easy fix. Also, there is NO WI-FI! This location gets crappy cell service on top of that. Good luck trying to access your workout playlist if it's online. On the brightside, they do validate parking.

love the gym, very spacious, enough variety of equipment, so even when it may be packed, you still can manage to use desired equipment or it's equivalent. Staff membets are friendly as well.

Good location. Only 2 hours free parking. All the TVs have Fox News on so you can go there to get in shape and paranoid at the same time.

I've been coming here for over a year. It's a good gym, pretty clean, plenty of equipment. After 6pm is a pretty crowded, but I'm typically in well before then. I like having a basketball court to shoot around and warm up in. My knock is that when an equipment piece breaks, it takes a LONG LONG time for them to get it fixed.

Been a member for 10 years. My membership only costs $155 a year and they want me to pay $120 for towels. This should be complimentary to encourage lessening the use of paper. I only use a small towel. Does it really cost LA Fitness that much money to have a desk worker fold some towels once or twice a shift?

Rude personal trainer. I was the only person in the trainer area, which I used so I wouldn't hog the benches while I did decline push-ups. He walked in with his client and told me to leave even though I was out of their way. I wouldn't have gone in there if it were busy or if I needed to use the same equipment. I asked to stay for the last minute of my routine, and was firmly denied. I've used this area many times along side trainers in other locations without any issue as long as I wasn't in the way. This was my first and last visit to this location. The staff at the other locations are much friendlier, and the facilities cleaner.

The gym is fine, good even, but the corporation as a whole does a miserable job handling cancellations. Even if you move across the country like I did and end up nowhere near an LA Fitness, they very purposefully and knowingly make it as difficult as possible to cancel. You cant do it online, you can't do it over the phone. Your options are to mail in a printed form which might get there when you want, or to do it in person, only between 9 and 5 on a weekday, and only with one employee "operations manager" who may or may not be there when you are. On top of that the cancellation doesn't take place for another month just so they can milk you for anything they can. Horrible system reflecting knowing disregard for customer satisfaction.
