My favorite yoga studio in all of Northern Virginia - and trust me I've done my research. I have stuck with yoga through the years for what the physical as well as what the spiritual aspects of the practice (and community) provide. Journeyoga is that place! It doesn't have that big corporate impersonal vibe. In fact, just the opposite. I immediately felt welcome and part of the community. It's such a beautiful studio and the practices are amazing! Challenging physically AND spiritually. I love it!

Whether you've practiced yoga for years, or are brand new to it, there is a class for you. Sarah is a wonderfully contagious ball of energy and her core-focused classes will make you work!
Knowledgeable instructors, excellent classes, warm and welcoming.
Best yoga center in the locality
I love this place! Sarah Lynn is wonderful - so full of energy and warm love. The studio looks great! I love the felling from the decor and there's even a hot water tap in the front with hot tea available. My favorite classes here are Core Focus and Yoga II Active. You'll leave feeling a good workout and refreshed. Also, they know great customer service. One time, a class was accidentally scheduled (the teacher was unavailable) so, not only did they let me attend another class that night for free, but they also gave me another free class to use.
I loved the pre-natal yoga class (aka bootcamp for babies). It is not exactly yoga, but more calisthenics to up-beat music with a yoga foundation. It was absolutely grueling, and it really helped me through my pregnancy. But what's even better is that Sara Lynn blends in a lot of education on pregnancy and birthing, so you learn while you burn: signs of labor, when to call the doctor when you go into labor, how to deal with different symptoms.... Students also get to know each other and share their own experiences and ideas. Know that the other pre-natal instructors also give good classes at different intensity levels, but they do not give pregnancy education because they do not have the background that Sara Lynn has. But they are still good classes.
If you have particular issues with your pregnancy, they help you adjust your yoga to stay safe.
It is totally geared to pregnant women and totally separated from the regular classes; it is also made to be safe and comfortable for pregnancy (eg lots of air conditioning, holding the wall for balance). And because class is offered 4 times per week, this is the best value you can find. It is. I did the research.
The result: I had a safe pregnancy and now have a happy healthy baby boy.
I moved away from the area and am expecting again, and boy, do I miss Journeyoga! If you are local, take a free intro class when Sara Lynn (aka Padma) is teaching. And arrive early. Her class is very popular.

Love this place. They also got an intro deal $50 1 month of unlimited yoga.
