Genesis Health Clubs overall are pretty good. I like the classes they offer. I wish they had an app for your phone, and that the website was more user friendly. I also wish they offered popular classes more often and at different times. Unfortunately, when I have emailed this request, I don't get a response.
I started on my birthday in August .... decided to change my life ... I have been training with Zach ever since and he has made it an amazing journey. He is so patient and pushes just hard enough!! I am stronger and so much more confident. Thank you Zach for helping me find a love for the gym. I look forward to the changes here with the remodel.
I have been a member for many years. Upon my review I paid dues for over 6 months while living out of state. I attempted to freeze my account and finally had to cancel my membership. What a shame...told that I would get no credit and still have to pay an additional month in fees. Disappointed in this type of service.
I'm a new member as of Sept 2018. I have read through all the reviews on Google. I like this club. That is the main difference from FCC and other gyms. FCC is not just a gym you go to and work out. Its meant to be a social club and gym. If you are coming here expecting the typical gym experience, this is not for you.
Seems the new people who were transferred here from Miramont Central are quite upset because they were used to a gym, not a club. Also the long time members of the club are experiencing new members who dont have the respect of others in a social club setting vs a gym.
I have had time to meet many members, new and long time, and I have to say I like the long time members and feel they do deserve to be given more respect from this new owner/company.
I also agree that the entrance area needs some improvement. It feels very congested in the main lobby area. The air cleaners need to be cleaned or you should add some. The entrance area does have the aroma of an old bar, which it is, but there is no reason for that when there are air cleaners.
Overall, yes the club could use a serious deep cleaning. A professional crew needs to come in and do a top to bottom and bring the life back into the club.
I like it here, and its fine with me if more people want to quit.
I was approaching 7 years at the Fort Collins Club before it was bought out by Genesis. It used to be a community space that I appreciated. Old, young, families, singles and college students. The new regime came in without telling long time members. I found out in the newspaper on a Saturday after being there on the previous Thursday. They instantly changed the space, most of the classes, schedules, and staff. It was a corporate buy out, and we we treated not as long time loyal members, but as Expendables. My membership ended shortly after their takeover. They sent a bill for the next year without their name on it (a 3rd party handling it) without saying what it was for, orvthat they wanted my business, that they even noticed they'd displaced a long time loyal member. I just had to guess from the amount. They have a lot of machines now, and if you want to be a machine it might just be your fit, but it's not mine. I value people and community more.
Always great but now....it has a new name and New machines. Let's see how this goes...
Poor customer service. Membership team never contacted my wife back after multiple inquiries for membership and when I called they put me on hold and then when they picked the phone back up asked if they could take a message and have someone call me back. They must be doing very well to not want new members.

I hate to think what actually happens in there, and how long it is not cleaned. My concern has not been addressed in several months, either verbally, by phone call, or by action. Needless to say, nothing has changed with the condition of the Steam Room. Aspirating human feces is not something that I want to do. I want Fort Collins Club to provide a clean and fresh men's steam room.
UPDATE: 8-1-2018 With the transition to new owners, the only thing that I can see different is that the club is more packed now, and they put in brighter lights in the locker room, which makes it easier to see that the dust on top of the lockers and light fixtures still is about 5 years thick. I called membership several times in the past 2 weeks to inquire about a family membership, and have yet to receive a call back.
The front desk staff is managing check-ins on 3 different systems, and the new staff doesn't know me at all. They also are closing down Salon Georgio, and gave eveyone there a 60 day notice.

Machines are dusty and cruddy, floors are dirty and there are piles of dirt along walls and under machines. There is a men's room next to the weight room and the urinal doesn't flush. Last week there was no sink, this week there is one but it leaks into a bucket. The locker room is gross, lockers are junky. I got shunted over here when the Miramont Central location was bought out by Genesis and after two weeks I'm not going back. There are better alternatives.

As a long-time member of Fort Collins Club I was disappointed when the club was sold to a chain with no notice to members. The new owners also own Miramont, and have closed one of the Miramont locations and moved all of these members plus equipment to the FCC. This has made for cramped quarters and over crowding (as much fun as it is to work out with my face basically in someone else's armpit, I'd rather not). They are also systematically getting rid of everything that made FCC unique - community boards (replaced with a pop machine - nice touch for a gym), kids rooms, the long time staff members - gone. More than one star only because of the eight years I enjoyed being a member. I will be finding a locally-owned establishment and cancelling my membership.
We loved Fort Collins club but now we are quiting. We are in shock. The club sold with no notice and because they merged another club into the same location it is so crowded that it has become a nightmare for all members new and old. This transistion was handled so poorly. What a trainwreck. We are taking our family elsewhere. Why pay premium prices for something that is no longer premium.
Coming from Miramont Centeral, this place, FC Club, is filty dirty and crowded. I've cancelled my membership and hoping to get my money back..
Miramont Central was very suddenly closed and all members pushed into Fort Collins Club. We were given zero notice. We tried a yoga class (our main reason for membership) and the yoga room was dirty, loud, and reeked of chlorine. We will not remain members unless something changes at FCC.
Great gym, fun/relaxed environment, and a great community feel! Has an awesome basketball league as well!!
Been going here for about 3 years now, and feel like family. Love the staff, the weightroom, and the cardio area.
I joined FCC approximately three weeks ago. The staff and fitness instructors and equipment are great. There are definitely plenty of classes to choose from. The club is always very busy, almost too many people for its size.
I'm learning quickly to try to adjust my work out routine for off hours.
My only criticism is the limited floor and free weight area. There never seems to be enough room for the amount of people.
I've noticed there are signs on the machines to be considerate of the amount of time you use them. Why not post the same for these very cramped areas. I attempted to place a matt down for a short ab work out but was informed by a gentleman that had laid out his step up platforms that he needed the entire area to do his work out there after he finished using the treadmill. The area would be available after he finished. Then after I waited more than a half an hour for two other younger people to finish their conversation on the matts I finally gave up and left very frustrated.
Hopefully this changes soon. I am pursuing other gym options.
Tons of Great fitness classes, awesome instructors! Friendly staff, lots of equipment, super gym w racquetball, indoor and outdoor pool, bar and cafe w daily homemade delicious meals, free coffee. Fun to place to workout and hangout. Affordable. All ages feel welcome!! Love this gym!
I'm not sure about the negative reviews, but I love this place. The gym has everything I need - from a solid set of free weights, to nautilus, to huge cardio space - its great. They even have a "vibration" machine that is fun to give a try (great for moving lymph). Everything is clean and there are towels and spray bottles for equipment - so I'm not sure about the review saying things are dirty... After a solid workout, I get to chill out in the hot tub, sauna, and steam room. The outdoor, and indoor pools are nice. Staff is overwhelmingly friendly and treats you like family. Yesterday, I got in a biking accident on the way to the gym, and the staff member at the desk did not hesitate to give me band aids and neosporin. The members here are all great. Positive vibes from all has been my experience. Cheers to FCC for running a great operation.

The Fort Collins Club is a nice facility but, there are some serious maintenance and management issues. Many of the exercise machines are in bad shape with non-functioning features. There is also a lot of crowding with too many machines packed closely together. The temperature in the exercise rooms is poorly controlled. The owner/manager is a guy who looks like he would be hard pressed to walk a block or two. He has an obnoxious, complacent attitude and is totally unwilling to listen to customer concerns. I do NOT recommend this health club.
We went to the pool to go swimming. We swam for about 10 minutes than a guy without the fcc shirt came and kicked us out because there were to many ppl swimming even though a lane was open. I don't think he worked here. But this was a horrible experience and I would not recommend the pool. Otherwise this is a good place.
Not worth the money for bad equipment. Be careful of contracts going longer than intended.
