I'd been intrigued by the idea of Orange Theory Fitness since living in DC, but avoided it because the idea of having my progress charted for all to see stressed me out in the hyper competitive environment of Washington.
Now that I'm in Colorado, I decided to give it a try. This Orange Theory Fitness location offers one free class, which I love - I think all gyms and studios should do this considering the investment. I went on a Saturday morning and was greeted by the owner and instructor - both very nice and helpful. The equipment was nice, new, and clean. And the best part (at least to me) is that phones are not allowed in the studio.
Since I work out on a regular basis, I decided not to join because 1) I develop my own HIIT workouts + have access to all the equipment in their studio (treadmill, rowing machine, bikes, weights) and 2) I would rather spend the money on barre, pole, or yoga classes. That being said, I think this would be good for someone who needs others to be motivated / give their all during a sweat session. I'll probably visit sporadically when I have guests in town.
