Great studio!
Fantastic studio and the instructors are amazing! I had never done any yoga before and now they have me hooked :-) I recommend it for beginners and experienced yogis
They have been patient with me. The new member trial is a good deal.
I had been practicing for 5 years when I started at this studio and I continue to have classes where the teachers explain a pose in a different way and a light bulb goes off. I really enjoy this studio and especially love Heather's class. Her classes are the best and I've been to studios throughout San Francisco and the East Bay. She sprinkles in a touch a spirituality and I just love it!
Love this studio
This is a very legitimate Bikram studio. I have been practicing for 10 years now and have practiced at Mission Yoga in S.F., Funky Door in Berkeley, and now in Walnut Creek. All studios are different, in size, in make up of students, and somewhat in instructor mix (though I have seen some instructors teach at all three of these studios). Walnut Creek attracts excellent instructors, some of the best I've experienced. They've just added a humidifier so the heat is totally up to snuff ... sometimes I wish it wasn't quite so hot but that's me being wimpy :). They just installed new carpet. Parking is good ... there are free spots in the back and on the streets a couple blocks away, and there are always available metered spots in front. And Virginia the owner is quite sincere and passionate about yoga and running her business in an ethical, friendly fashion.
This is a great Bikram Yoga Studio that is friendly and welcoming. I have been coming here for nearly 10 years. I have visited many other Bikram studios around the US and the world and this is the best. Virginia, the owner, really cares for her students and maintains the studio very well. The heat system has just been upgraded and there is brand new floor covering for 2016. Virginia is also an energetic talented teacher with a very good sense of humor. The other teachers bring a variety of useful perspectives that keep your practice progressing on an individualized basis. Two of the teachers have recently placed 1st and 4th in the California Yoga competition. Other teachers provide a nice mix of energetic intensity and more laid back approaches. There are both men and women teachers and a mix of men and women in the classes. There is almost always free parking available in the back which is a plus in busy Walnut Creek.
This Bikram yoga center does not meet the standard of the required heat. Some of the instructors including the owner of the this facility are rude and unprofessional. When one of the students confront the owner of low heart, she told that student "you came her to meditate" Wow, if someone need to meditate, they can go to meditation center free of charge not paying for not getting basic service. I hope the owner follow the heat requirement standard of the Bikram yoga and not making too many excuses
My instructor was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. I went with my sister and my friend who doesn't have the best health. She wanted to try it out and figured if she felt sick during the class she could easily take a breather outside the classroom. In the past I have had positive experiences there and reassured her she would be fine. During my class my friend began to feel woozy and exited. After around 10 minutes I tried to exit the classroom to check on her as I was worried. The instructor(who was also the owner) yelled at me in front of everyone. She asked why I was leaving and then upon hearing my answer ordered me to "go back to my mat" and said she would check on my friend. Embarassed, and not wanting to cause a scene I relented. The instructor then exited and returned with my friend. Apparantly, she had bullied my friend into coming back in with the reassurance that it was okay if she passed out, the instructor would take care or her. After my friends return the instructor then gave the class a speech about how important it is to stay in the class for the whole 90 minutes which humiliated my friend further. I am never returning. I understand the instructor was just trying to help us work out but she went too far.
Love it here.
