The club is nice and the employees are courteous. The set-up of club is perfect I have a lot of options.

They say hi and bye but I hate the way the kids get away with anything in the pool area all summer.
There's been so many comments as others tell me and staff. Hoping it's better this summer.
The pool area is very nice, otherwise. I didn't enjoy it that much during the summer due to kid chaos, bad parents leaving kids unattended, no staff checking it out.
I wish staff could walk out every half hour and tell kids please go to kid pool and ask where their parents are.

I was on a mission to find a gym for our employees to set up a corporate membership. When I arrived at the front desk I could not even hold a conversation with the representative because of all the screaming coming from racquetball courts. I was impressed with the entire facility until I came to the fore mentioned courts. Half of the courts had members playing handball. The yelling coming from the courts appeared to be more like a prison yard and not a respectable gym. As i walked around the gym on my own I asked a few members who were working on the weights and machines if the yelling was frequent. Every member said it was. One member said even when she has her ear buds at full volume she can still hear the yelling. All members said the yelling was very disruptive to there workouts. I will continue my search and report my findings to the decision makers but In Shape Demaree is not on the top of the list. It is rather unfortunate because this gym is close to the industrial park where our plant is located.

It's getting way too expensive they had 4 to 5 in Visalia at 1 time, now when a club closes more people show up to the bigger gyms and it seems like I pay more for other people to come here. If you were a member at the smaller In Shape's they give you a free upgrade to go to the bigger gym to keep the customers but I feel like my rate goes up everything is always broken or full of people babysitting the equipment I would like to use. And the personal trainers are a joke.

The pool is really nice, but the water is not usually clean of debris (trash, hair), the equipment throughout the gym desperately needs to be updated or replaced. The workout areas and locker rooms are clean sometimes and sometimes only cleaned minimally-they really could do better. The staff, while some of them are very friendly and genuine, for the most part most of them are not. They are either somewhat egotistical and act as though they would rather be elsewhere or they have the attitude of 'I simply can't be bothered' Please, In Shape-Demaree, show your current members and future members that you could do better with the beautiful property you have. Make this a gym worth the price tag. Visalia is growing and other gyms are coming in and stepping up. I really want to be proud of my gym and tell others about you! If you respond to this review, please don't just say you'll improve, put it into action!

How about a Tuesday morning body combat class? Not interested in Grit even though it is free this time around.
We requested a Tuesday morning Body combat class from class scheduler and Demaree manager since the Caldwell inshape closed. Unreceptive scheduler and manager says good idea but no class yet. Also the Saturday BC class needs to be adjusted to 8:30 or later rather than 8:00 to align with weekday classes.

Great gym with great cardio space and an incredible pool area. Free towel service I like. I only take 1 star away for the confusing weight rooms. It's gonna take some time to find where everything you want is and how to get there from another room.

Demaree location is very unorganized and needs to update the equipment. I know a lot of the mess is associated to members but that's what housekeeping is for. During summer it is super hot in there. The air does not circulate. Fans would be a good economical idea.

I love my cycling class on Mondays at 6:30pm. The instructor Joe really pushes us- i actually sweat! I leave feeling like I had the best workout ever. He is funny and he actually gets to know us, making it encouraging/motivating to want to go back.
A large gym with several rooms of equipment, fitness classes all throughout the week, tennis, racquetball, swimming, an incredibly personable staff, all contribute to a great lifestyle when you join. It's easy to make In-Shape a part of your life!
Great spot, if a little too crowded. It seems like parking is always an issue here, as seen below, but staff is courteous and seem to know what they're doing. Very clean. Sign up when they're running a deal.
I moved out of state and realized i needed to cancel my membership with them, i was with them well over the annual agreement i had signed and they still wanted 30 day notice and wanted me to provide my new address before they would consider not charging me an additional month. Unless you like to be put on hold for up to 30 minutes and continually request to speak to management at their corporate office to get a simple cancellation done don't go here. Even when signing up originally, i come to find out that people i referred over to them actually got their membership for $20 less monthly. This isn't a utility or an rental complex its a gym. don't ever give them auto pay or your banking information as they will try to continually charge you hoping you won't notice. Planet Fitness before i left was offering $10 monthly membership fees i would go with them if i still lived out there.
