Been coming to this 24 inconsistently for a couple years. They recently upgraded to platforms in some areas of the gym which is nice. I noticed within the last few weeks they switched from a 24 Hour Fitness to a 20 Hour Fitness. Major L for this 24 Hr "Super Sport"
I chose 24 Hour Fitness Santa Barbara because they have a lot more equipment, there is never a long wait for the machines I want to use and they have a pool, spa, sauna and steam room. Also they offer personal training and my membership is very reasonably priced at $41 a month and I get to access all of the 450 gyms they have all over the country. I like that there is plenty of room in the gym to move around without bumping into others. It's very clean and the staff is very friendly. They are always willing to help when they can.
Great place with awesome employees. Only problem is finding literally anything under a 35 to put on a barbell. Either PR by 35lbs or go home. Individual experiance may differ.
Great facility very big and great staff
Great facility very big and great staff
More of a two and a half, older equipment hasn't been freshened up, lots of dust on the ceilings.
Its a convenient distance to my current project.

Hard to find it first but once you do it's well worth it. Everyone there is very helpful.

Parts of the gym seem broken down if you go during hours when it is not busy it is quite nice. they have wifi and are taking steps to improve the facilities!
Unkept and germ dirty. Needs some love.maybe a new spot. I would have never bought a membership if I had to go to this facility.
Gym never have towels to clean equipment and weights are never returned. I have had experiance with other 24 hour Fitness gyms but was very disappointed in this would. Would not reccomend.
Great gym plenty of equipment front desk help is great just needs a little cleaning
Really good. Although slightly crowded during some parts of the day. Therefore 4,5/5
The club is inexpensive but very shabby and run down, quite unlike most of Santa Barbara. However, when I called to cancel, the employee would not process my cancellation saying I had to speak to a manager. I asked the manager to call me, which call I never received. So I visited the club and asked to cancel and was told the manager wasn't there and I would have to come back. I was not happy with this answer and after a rather unpleasant discussion, I was given an 800 number to call to cancel. At each interaction with an employee of 24 Hour Fitness, the employee tried to convince me not to quit.
It is quite unethical for a company to allow a standard employee to sign me up for a membership but not allow the same level of employee to process my cancellation. It is obviously a ploy to make it as tough as possible to terminate a membership. I would avoid doing business with a company that so blatantly tries to keep your money rather than respecting your wishes.
Dingy and smelly. Sweat and stains everywhere. No ventilation. Gross locker room and showers. A Super Sport with NO TOWEL SERVICE. One star for being open 24 hours. Even locating the entrance is painful. It's in the back, not even close to 820 State St. which is all locked up with a closed sign. Dumb.
Sadly one of worst. Dingy and smelly. Sweat and stains everywhere. No ventilation. Gross locker room and showers. A Super Sport with NO TOWEL SERVICE. One star for being open 24 hours. Even locating the entrance is painful. It's in the back, not even close to State St.
I used gym for 3 days as I was traveling and shower floor had same tooth paste tube in same shower stall. Cleanliness in question. For the late hour attended most lockers were locked and hardly anyone in facility. Street people storage perhaps.
The worst 24 hour fitness I've ever been to, the cardio equipment is ill-maintained, the weight room is completely awful, and the best part is they charge you a premium for being a "super-sport"!
I tell you this as someone using a semi-broken stairmaster, save your money and stay far away these people who are simply in it to take advantage of tourists.
Dirty, no cleaning supplies, terrible equipment. Would not recommend this gym to anyone who has the funds to go anywhere else.
Terrible service!!!!
I have membership from San Francisco sport-level club (I moved to Santa Barbara a couple weeks ago.) Today was my third time when I visit Santa Barbara's club (nobody stopped me before). Front desk told me that I have to upgrade my membership since it is a super-sport club, and I have to pay $10 extra every month. I asked them if I can cancel my membership, but they told me I can not even cancel it since I have a contract until May of 2018....
It was upsetting news for me, and I just needed time to think about this situation. I asked to just use the gym today since I needed time to decide, but, to be honest, I don't have any options besides an upgrade. Imagine how I was surprised when they told me that I CAN NOT USE GYM TODAY! Really?!
Since I can not cancel my membership and the only option for me is to upgrade it for extra $10, I will do it, but People STAY AWAY from this gym because they DON'T DO ANYTHING for their MEMBERS!
