I started my CrossFit journey over 5 years ago and have had the opportunity to travel to different affiliates across the country. Now that I've settled back in San Jose, Brickhouse Fitness is where I call home. Great coaches (selfless, passionate, and knowledgeable), diverse community (humbling and inspirational), and a positive and motivational environment all around. Lots of wholesome camaraderie and community building fitness events throughout the year.
If you've ever considered giving CrossFit a try... I highly recommend checking this place out. Common discouragements I've heard is feeling intimidated and not being fit enough yet to start. Every workout is scale-able (meaning the workouts are not one size fits all. Instead, they can be modified to fit each person's current fitness level so they can effectively perform the workout alongside everyone else, still get a great workout in, and progress by building those muscle groups!)
Starting out with something new is by far... the toughest part of the journey, but rest assured, everyone you will meet at Brickhouse was once in your very same shoes when they first started! My first workout had a ton of pull-ups in it... towards the end, I needed the thickest resistance band and a coach holding my legs for a boost to complete the reps, haha! 4 months later... I was doing unassisted kipping pull-ups.
All it takes is stepping through that front door and being open to something new!
