This place is nothing remotely like when it was called decathlon club. It is now all the expenses and none of the benefits once existed. That bar and TVs that gave the entrance a look and some excitement are gone. Indoor stream of water and rocks and trees around it are gone, instead there is one picture of it on the wall showing what it used to be, like customers pay to get into a museum and see how great it used to be!
Soap and shampoo are bought in bulk and look cheaper than in any average normal gym. To me the smell of shampoos identifies with insect repellents. Even under the urinals is always wet. They do not even spend money getting enough cleaning persons to take care of that. I remember a time when they cleaned and dried that place continuously.
I had the monthly plan. When I went to the office and gave them 1 month notice they asked me to fill the separation form online! They also asked me after separation was approved [as if I need their approval] they send me another email to sign. When that email arrived it literally has an "addendum" that I have agree to pay for 2 more months. Well, no, I do not agree to any addendum (literally their own phrase) when I am cancelling my plan!
When I tried to get a hold of any sales people or manager or even managers of other Bay Clubs and left messages, nobody answered for 5 days, playing the delay game. I decided to let my bank know, I had let the 1st month notice payment go through, I blocked the 2nd. It went through anyways, and I eventually recovered it. The shameless people are still sending me mails asking for money as if they are completely oblivious of their own behavior!
Go to any other gym. No other gym has anything less than Bay club has now. They do not spend any of all those membership money to reach even the level of service of an average Bay area gym. If you have not found a better gym yet, you really have not been looking around.
Who are interested in physical activity that's best place, for all kinds of activity but u must be in elited community.

The new fitness area has some wonderful new machines and bright, airy feel.
The locker rooms look nice, but the functionality leaves something to be desired. After classes let out there is usually a wait for showers and sometimes lack of towels. Family changing rooms closer to pool.
Pools are great. One dedicated to lanes, one for general use. Small kid area too. Nice big pool towels provided.
Childcare is doing the best they can while they wait for the new childcare space to be built. Those ladies are wonderful.
The trainers are friendly, good at getting results, and worth trying if you can.
Overall a fairly good gym with lots of good things. Can't wait to see what the finished product is.
Our family started our membership in January this year. With the new renovations, the facilities are amazing and a great way for the entire family to be active. We spent almost every weekend this summer at the club with friends and family as guests. It was a fantastic experience.

The swimming pools are amazing. It is a very nice place to work out and also spend time. Very beautiful place.
The only thing negative for me is that most people there are old. Not much young people.
Of course, the price is high. I think it is worth it.

I am a member since last October. I have been taking Adult swimming classes @ Bay club . Chris has been coaching me since the start. I practice swimming almost every day. When chris is not around, Josh has been very helpful giving tips improving my technique n swimming strokes. Nina is also very friendly n encouraging. Always been wanting to learn swimming and so happy that I could do it at one of the finest pool @Bay club. Recently I started training with Brian,one of the best trainer and friendliest person @ Bay club. I never believed I could lift that heavy weights but training under Brian has made that possible. Very encouraging n pushes your limit. Totally worth the price.

Very nice facilities. Currently under construction so it going to get even better. Definitely not cheap though and probably will get more expensive with renovation. Very nice locker rooms though. Biggest complaint is its pretty small. Especially the parking lot.

The place is really nice but dated. But they are renovating it. It is not just a place to workout it is a "lifestyle" club. Price will be in the upper $100s per month and there aren't deals. Negotiating a price is quite a process, because there are many options and multi club plans. Now they are renovating, you would think they would have deals going on, but that is not true. This club has prices that price out the rif raf that 24 hour Fitness and Citi Sports get with their $30 a month rate. I am that rif raf. I did the three day pass and loved the pools and the steam room and sauna. Fox news was on the tv. In the end, I am like most, I wish I could justify the price, because there are no better, affordable optons in that area and they know it and price accordingly. The issue is that they used to make their money on the corporate memberships, where companies paid and the people didn't go. Now most companies in that area have their own facilities. We will see what it looks like after the renovation, and what amenities are changed.

Kids friendly club but the entire place stinks with old carpet odor and sweat. Yes, they are renovating the interior but I would then suggest closing the entire place down and getting over with it in a few months rather than dragging the process for years. Equipment too is stale, and the odor of this place just makes you not want to work out.

Great for tennis but the main facility is undergoing a major renovation for the next year.
In the midst of a gut renovation. They did a good job building the temporary men's locker room.
Always enjoy going there! Great facility, courts, staff. Hard to go wrong.
This is an updated to my previous review about the basketball courts. Laurie (VP of Operations) has really stepped up with nets, jerseys, and Basketballs. We are just waiting for the Rim to be fixed and all will be perfect. Thank you
Facility is decent, but the gym gets hot even when it's not summer. They turn off the AC during non-peak hours, anytime that's not lunch time or after work. Their AC is so weak that they need to use fans also. Considering it's $215/ month, that's really cheap of them! Make sure you smile at the front desk staff, especially guys like Josh & Victor (can't miss him with the huge glasses & 70's pony tail); they're easily offended and got to be the center of attention. Nevermind you're working out 110% and too exhausted to smile.
I play squash here, but it offers a lot of other workout/sports options. Has basketball, squash, tennis, swimming, and other facilities. The locker rooms are quite clean and they have a sauna and steam room. Overall nice place.
It is a great place for the whole family to spend time and offers multiple recreational options. They organise events for kids and adults on a regular basis as well. A bit pricey for people looking only for gyms.
Renovating the club, but the vision is suspect. Seems very 24 Hour fitness. Not the country club I joined anymore but still charging premium dues. Many things broken or in poor repair. Renovation plans seem to solve these issues by reducing services not fixing them. I would not join today.
Be sure to bring your own Jersey. Lori the VP of Operations is too cheap to buy $200 worth of jersey's for the basketball players. $292 per month and no jerseys. Better Service at the YMCA. Much better management as well. Bay club has went from five stars to we don't give a crap about stars. Do not waste your time at this club. Operations in horrible. She needs to be fired and they need a real VP of operations. I guess they hire anyone these days. Decathalon club was so much better.
