Inspirational and motivating studio with knowledgeable teachers. Great for beginning students through advanced. Always great adjustments, makes one stronger and able to accomplish anything. Do not get discouraged, it takes a little time to develop muscle and stamina. Rewards come quickly, be patient.

This review has been long overdue. I left SF -- and my beloved DM --almost a year ago. Since then, I have traveled pretty much everywhere -- catching whatever barre class i can get. If a DM isn't there, I opt for another chain. This puts me in the position of being able to evaluate the difference across the chains. I know most think all barre classes are the same -- a little variance depending on the instructor. WRONG. I have been to every national chain in more than 6 major US cities in the past 12 months (not to mention International locations). I can clearly say that there are 2 key differences between DM and every other barre chain: 1) the caliber of instructor and 2) the focus on alignment. ON POINT 1: The training required of DM instructors vs those of the other top 5 national chains is incomparable. The specificity of DM instruction is unparalleled. There is no question on what exact muscle fiber needs to be doing what, where and when. Also, I have NEVER (in my 4 years at DM) seen an instructor with nothing less than perfect form. I am incredulous at the poor form demonstrated by instructors at other chains. My form is often better than theirs -- and I'm OLD! Seriously, I just watch injuries unfold before me. Scary! DM instructors also will not hesitate to adjust (realign) you. YOU WANT THIS! I am so disappointed at little adjusting goes on in other chains. How can I know if I'm doing it right -- if the instructor isn't letting me know through my alignment? ON POINT 2: I am horrified to see the focus on gadgets and weights (heavy ones) in some chains. At DM, the entire focus is ALIGNMENT. It doesn't matter how much weight one can do--- or how many reps... it is all about ALIGNMENT. Weights are even discouraged -- until form is right. If you are new to barre.... start here. Every other chain really does pale in comparison.

Very little attention to form. Way too much strain on the hip flexors, almost no attention to the inner thies, and big gaps with the upper body routine. So far my least favorite barre routine in sf.

Best workout I've ever had! You don't realize it as you're working out, but I'm always sore the next day. The teachers are extremely friendly and helpful, and although I can't do every move perfect they always make me feel welcome and comfortable

I like the convenience of going here because it is close to work and they have a lot of time slots which makes it easy to fit into my schedule. But the downside is I don't find all the instructors knows how far to push their students or knows how to articulate or explain the positions well. I've done Pilates elsewhere so I've got my fundamentals down. I don't think everyone does and they can potentially cause physical injuries!

Do this workout!!! It changed my life and my body. One hour and your abs will look insane. Run do not walk to the Dailey Method.

Where it *all* began. After cursing that I would never go back after my 1st class (Katina lifted her leg higher than my line of sight; could not walk for 2 weeks), I did and unexpectedly transformed from a size 6/8 to 0. The small classes create a personal instructor type of environment with hands-on adjustments, without all the pressure of being the center of attention. Thank you, ladies!

Katina is awesome!

The Dailey Method opened up in my neighborhood, Castro/Mission and it's amazing. Anybody looking to get stronger, get long and toned this is YOUR spot. I promise you it doesn't get easier instead you are challenged and gain strength from each day you go to class. The facility is clean has nice showers and lockers. Another great perk, child care! The owner is also an instructor, Brittany! so helpful and such a great teacher, her energy is infectious. All the instructors are very well trained so even if you don't start out strong (cause it WILL kick you butt) it will take no time for you to carve out your ideal body. Love it nothing like it!
