Clean, professional, kind, safe , and realistic hours for people whos work schedule is not 9 am to 5 pm. Thankyou 24 hour fitness... Good staff...
new work out equipments and adequate space just dont use the shower or locker rooms, not so clean
The place is looking run down. This location use to be top notch about 5 years ago. They do have a brand new power lifting station that is great.
It is what it is. You have a huge gym for a competitive and low price. Yes, machines break and it takes time for repairs. Other than that it services my needs and the staff have always been kind and respectful towards me. It's not perfect, by any means, but it's my gym and I'm grateful to have it.
Dirty. 2/2 Paper towel dispensers empty on the entire weight floor. Weights laying around in no organized manner. Expect to see vagrants loitering inside the gym at night. People don't respect any of ghe posted rules here. This location has a lot of old machines, but that isn't necessarily a negative. It can get pretty busy.
decent gym but the hygiene in the men's toilets is inexcusable, no maintenance always disgusting
I mean, it's a gym - so expectation is low. However, while it has a lot of equipment, a lot of it is really out dated and they don't work super well. Weights stick or pins don't work as smoothly as they should. For a gym this big, it's kind of sad to see how outdated some of the equipment is. As well, the cleanliness of the gym is really lacking. Every time I've gone, the locker room is in disarray: towels thrown about, certain spaces have horrible smells, and everything just feels not clean. Even the machines feel like they don't ever get a good cleaning. I canceled my membership because I was just visiting for a few months and there isn't a 24 hour by me, however if there was I would probably still have canceled my membership.

Tons of machines, so much variety...way better than most other properties. I can just get lost and after 2 hours look up and know I had a great workout. Some annoying grunters and people who sit there and text while hogging plus, not too clean. Still, I switched from Montgomery for the equipment and sauna.

Very durty gym. Unfriendly staff. Couches dont have any idea what does it mean to train people. Equipment is measurable.
This location is definitely a 24 Hour Fitness quality facility.. Amazing customer care, very clean facility, great crowd with full of positive energy.. i wait for the day i work in CA so I get to workout at this location.. highly recommended!

There are plenty of other gym/fitness clubs in this town, the problem is always finding parking if you want to come with your car.
The smart thing to do is to jog or ride a bicycle, fitness sense.
Except for all the bicycle hijackers - cycling my not be so wise.
So walk or jog, after you get off the bus (muni).
On the other hand because the facility is located in a shabby run down old building l can honestly say it is not for the "fashionable" crowd, rather for the serious hard core fitness "bunnies".
Besides lots of muni buses run by on Van Ness late at night and early in the morning, including the #90 0wl.
Which makes it an exceptional find for serious fitness folk.
On the down side as of 1/27/2k18; two of the four toilets in the men's locker room is non functioning because the valves are worn out. So there are o only two working toilets for the facility.
Also there is not 24 hr access for those users with a disability as the wheelchair access is via the parking garage, which is closed at night. There is only the stairwell entrance on Post St.
Literally the place is the so disgusting it's scary. Everytime I'm there I fear I'm going to contract mersa or something along the lines of that. Not to mention it's literally jammed to the gills 24/7.
Spacious but a bit dirty, with a lot of older equipment. I kinda like that you have to go up a few flights of stairs before working out here though haha, it's a nice warm-up.
2-level gym over-looking Van Ness, with plenty of cardio on the first floor, and weights, ab room, showers and sauna on the second. It can be a bit messy sometimes from people too lazy to re-rack weights, or cleaning their sweat off the machines after use (which makes is disgusting having to clean someone else's mess before you work out) but other than that, decent gym and great central location. Also, they falsely advertise playing NFL games on Sunday. I don't work out here on Sundays anymore.
This location is ok I guess, but Wayne the fitness manager is extremely rude, and he doesn't seem to have the basic knowledge on fitness, sports, or safety at the gym. He was encouraging lifting techniques that could cause injuries, he really shouldn't be getting paid as a fitness professional
I recommend going to FITNESS SF SOMA instead, much friendlier and more knowledgable employees
I canceled my 24hour fitness membership after 3 years, after dealing with Wayne the fitness manager, fire this idiot to keep your customers
This is the best gym in town. Awesome facilities, plenty of locations, great price.
Largest gym in the city. Lot's of equipments. Where trainer's workout. Best time to go is in the morning as it gets very hot in the afternoon given the big windows.
I've had a membership at 24 hour fitness before in multiple other cities, I like 24 overall, but this location is terrible. All the equipment is old and poorly maintained. The thing that bothers me most though is that they charge extra for "towel service". Getting a clean towel at a fitness club shouldn't be an add on. It's basic sanitation. If you don't give people clean towels many of them will just not wipe down their machines, it's gross and unsanitary. I gave this place two stars because they do have everything you need to get a good workout. I'm going to be looking for a new location though, or a new gym.
