Great classes here with serious yoga instructors who take their/students practice very seriously. I think the classes are pretty challenging, while not super fast flow you still get a good workout.
I truly love this yoga studio! I have been attending for about a month now and many of the instructors already know my name! Everyone including the students are very friendly! The teachers are very knowledgeable and have beautiful music in their classes. Some teachers also offer chanting with drumming or the harmonium before class which I love. The classes can be crowded but I enjoy the energy of a full room. I think I have finally found my yoga home! They offer mostly Vinyasa yoga classes and also a few Yin yoga classes. They also offer sound baths, workshops, and retreats. I highly recommend this studio. I have tried many studios in the area and this one is definitely one of the best!!
Nice teachers and location. I like that the studio is not heated.

All of the practitioners here are top-notch; they have an amazing range of skills and specialties, so whatever kind of bodywork you need, you can find it here! Relaxing atmosphere, wonderful service, and a great location in the heart of Midtown... after your massage, you can head next door to the Weatherstone for a cup of tea. Highly recommended!
Being a person who was restarting my yoga practice, I needed a place with a well trained staff who would provide patience, wisdom and skill. I found that at Yoga Shala. What else did I find? A place with spirit as well. Earthy yet fresh. I have frequented yoga studios where instructors insist that the form they know is better than the form you know... Yoga Shala has instructors who have been trained by time as well as practice. A quality I find very important for yoga.
Where to start!!!? This place is truly wonderful. All of the teachers are excellent and varied in their teaching style. Tyler's class seems to be my recent favorite, but I do love Bill & Annie's as well. Comfortable room with old timey wood floors & ample space. Loaner mats, towels, & love are always available for free! Tyler & Annie's classes are usually class is paired with beautiful music and really help to set the tone. I have been doing yoga regularly for a little over a year mostly due in large part to this place & these people. I can say I have truly found my yoga "home"!!
Wonderful place, need a say more. Peaceful and beautiful.
Words can't express what I feel for the yoga taught at this studio or what I feel for the people/energy it houses, but im going to try anyway.
I first began to practice at this studio back in 05 just a little after they opened their doors. Since that time the changes that I have gone through both physically and mentally are almost to many to count. More then just yoga I have learned the steps of a technology that have allowed me to change my life, and for that I will be ever grateful.
