I prefer this gym over others. I wish they would get some new stretching mats without holes. They look like trash. Besides that much better than planet fitness.
There has been a change at this club in the past month or. It is vividly apparent that there is a concerted effort in keeping the pool and locker room areas clean. For a club of this size and the amount of use it gets, I understand it is a huge challenge to do so. This is the cleanest I've seen it since I joined a few years back. The new management clearly show that they care
I really like In Shape! This particular one requires me at 70 to walk upstairs to work out. The pool is small as is the jacuzzi. People visit the steam room fully dressed after working out. They also visit the sauna with work-out clothes on. I find this distasteful since I wear a swimsuit and shower before entering the pool, steam room and jacuzzi. People also mess with the steam room to force it on by opening the door back and forth. They also put plastic over the steam device to force it on.
Haven't been here in a while, its nicely remodeled and the whole building is easily accessible. They also have a nice and large sauna and steam room
Usually pretty clean place not as ghetto as Modesto gyms
Sometimes I can get a descent workout. There should be more seperate latt machines and rowing machines and bench press machines so that the "me first people" that use the seats to rest as they text their confused gender friends will be comfortable.
To crowed always busy during weekdays but still gud staff n gud gym

Needs to be cleaner! Centrally located though! Love the steam room!

Downstairs smells like mold. Always out of paper towels to clean machines, IF anyone actually does take the time. The pool is overly full for 3 months every summer, leaving less room for the handicapped, such as myself, to do swim routines or exercises. The staff at the check in is either always on their phones or talking to other employees. It's rare to get a greeting on the way in or out. Rude staff overall.

I really used to liked this gym, it has classes, sauna, pool, child care, but the prices skyrocketed and is packed all the time now. Is hard to find parking even on the weekends when is supposed to be slow and classes, I had to arrive an hour early to sign up, therefore I had to cancel my membership because I was no longer satisfied. Very sad since I attended the gym for the last 5 years.
I believe closing the gym at hatch is what made the gym overflowed with people.

It's a pretty good gym, but it can be very crowded at times.
Very good plave to enjoy a full workout in peace an well sought enviroment
Good work outs and friendly people also lot of equipment so you don't have to worry about waiting.
Way too packed at every hour of the day. Reduced down to 1 from 2. Went today and every single machine was in use. Way too many people for anyone to get a good workout. Bunch of casuals taking up space.
Very clean. Nice and very helpful staff.
This is my home away from home so I might as well enjoy it and actually it's really true that's the last ingredient and happiness is exercise.!
Great people whom work there--+always around to help when needed.
Nice place to work out except from 4 to 7 pm to crowded
The gym is super crowded and all of the machines are close to each other. I'd rather go to the In-Shapes in Turlock.
It's my playground :) staff trainers all very helpful and friendly
If you want a gym for cardio machines, classes, and a few resistance machines this one will work fine for you. If you're interested in free weights and functional training, definitely go somewhere else. This gym is in desperate need of a remodel and reorganization. Sadly this is the closest gym to where I live but I'll be driving a little further to go somewhere else.
- teenie tiny free weights area with a lot of free weights missing, only one squat rack and an old cable machine that's cables get stuck when you're using it.
- depressing lighting and interior design. It's so dark it makes the small space even smaller.
- lack of mirrors. Mirrors will make the space look bigger and it's always important to be able to watch your form while you're working out.
- poor use of space. If someone would just take the time to reorganize the machines and place them in a smarter way, they could utilize way more space and it wouldn't feel so cramped. Also there's like 5 offices that are always empty when I'm there. Why are they wasting space on offices that they don't use or sales/ management could share.
- old or broken equipment. Both cable machines had stick cables or broken cables. I tried to use a couple of their stairmasters and both of them were broken and stalling.
This could easily be at least a 3 star gym if they just reorganized equipment, put up some fresh paint, brightened the place with some lights and installed a few more wall mirrors. For a 4 or 5 star they would have to update their equipment.
The goal here is fitness, not scamming someone to try to get a date or look down on people who are not perfectly fit. Nice front desk, business, and training staff. Fun place to work out. And they have a pool and classes.
Conveniently located within walking distance of my house and has decent eye candy! Although they need some help in the personal training and membership directing areas
I always leave so relaxed I've never had problems here staff is always friendly and helpful and the place is clean 95% of the time the other 5% if because sometimes I go at 2 in the morning and at that time I'm guessing their cleaning crew is off. Wished it was opened later in the weekend but that's about it.
This gym is good and while has a great potential does not have a good flow. Some of the machines are pretty worn out and very noisy. Other facilities have much better equipment.
You have to go at a certain time it gets way to packed for the size of that gym.. weights all over the place.
The weight room becomes extremely crowded during peak times. As it is, the equipment is so close together that you and a neighbor can't switch weight plates on your own equipment simultaneously.
I attempted to use a treadmill but it would not start, I hopped on the next one and and it had an error message.
It doesn't appear that there is anyone who maintains the appearance of the equipment. The facility is clean overall, but messey. There is plates all over the floor and leaned either against equipment or the wall. At one point, I saw the exact same equipment all over the floor in the exact same spot two days in a row.
The free weights are something you have to go on a hunt for. There is not enough dumbells; sometimes I have to go hunting for a certain weight all over the gym. You can occasionally find the fixed ez bar weights upstairs because someone removed it from the weight room and left it there. Not to beat a dead horse, but they should probably invest in some more weights for upstairs. They really just need to level it and build a larger gym.
