Love that this gym is open 24 hours. Great staff and fitness equipment from free weights to machines. Good place to workout at anytime
I love this location! Its clean, well-staffed, great equipment, and everything you need for total fitness!
Last week, a friend of mine (who is a member) decided we wanted to work out together after work. He sent me a link to a guest pass. I filled out all the information. When we went to check in I was told, because I didn't live in the area, I couldn't use it. I live in Studio City but work in Pasadena. So, I had to actually purchase a $15 day pass. However, my problem isn't with the policy, it's with the unprofessionalism. The email I received clearly states I was able to use the pass at any location and did not mention anywhere that it had to be a club within a 5 mile radius (apparently-found out after phone calls to corporate). This is just really slimey to me. You shouldn't be sending misleading information via email that contradicts your apparent "policy". Definitely never looking into a membership in the future after this. Also, side note, this place is gross. It's like in a dark, dingy basement and it's very small and not updated.
Don't plan on anything there that needs fixing to be done during your lifetime. In the men's locker room there is a place in front of the lockers where you sit down. The corner edge of the tile had been broken so that if anyone tried sitting down there the back side of their leg would be severely cut from the sharp edges that resulted from the breakage of the tiles. Instead of replacing the tiles they put electrician's tape over the edges. The tape and the broken tiles have been that way for MORE THAN A YEAR!
One of the men's showers has needed repair. Instead of repairing it they put a sign on the shower door that says something like "This equipment is temporarily under repair." Well it has been more than 4 months now which to me hardly qualifies as "temporarily"!
Get the picture of the management there?
It's a gym, mind your business while you working out and I'll do the same.

Evening gym goers need to really consider re racking their weights. Otherwise, a nice gym.
Weights are alway racked, great staff.
Staff are very professional. They always greet me with a smile and call me by first name. They are willing answer questions that pertain to the issues of working out. Thank you for making everyday a special day.

This Active-class club is well equipped with machines and free-weights, and cardio bikes, treadmills, stair steppers. The facility has a utilitarian look to it. I personally like the compact architectural layout for circuit training. They also have Zumba, yoga, and other fitness classes.

Maintenance is not a high priority, and pins for the machines are frequently missing -- I haven't seen one of the small ones in 4 years. Things get broken and take weeks to fix. The shower rooms are even worse, and the maintenance they do is just WRONG. They spent money on a cosmetic remodel while NOT doing functional repairs.
BUT... It's certainly adequate, and the price is right -- especially if your insurance company gives you free membership.
So I was riding the elliptical when a piece of the machine broke off. Went to the front desk and told them what happen, they verified if I was ok, however I was then asked to go back to the machine and get the serial number so they could document it.(I'm not an employee) why am I being asked to go back downstairs and then back upstairs to provide them with THEIR equipment information??? I have been a member of 24hr fitness since I was 15yrs old and I am now 34. And out of all the 24hr locations I have visited this is the first time this has happened. Once I gave the front desk girl the information, she just asked if I was ok? And kept sweeping. What happen to documenting? So I basically took time out of my workout to do an hourly employees job! WOW! Just WOW!!! Had I known this didn't need to be reported I would of left the broken piece on the floor and contained my workout! SMH!
One of the older gyms. Like a rathole with equipment. Underground with poor, non-natural lighting. I have no idea why this gym has a good rating.
Lots of cardio machines : treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, stair climbers. Lots of resistance workout machines. Now... if you are interested in doing weights, there are 2 things you need to know before going in. You can find most weights including dumbells and those you can adjust with weight plates but i feel like they are very limited. So you may want to consider another location if you are only interested in weights. Secondly, since the weight station is limited, if you go at the wrong time, then you may wait for your turn to use the weights that you want to use. I may suggest 1 p.m - 2.30p.m. is the slowest time during the weekdays. Personally, i am only interested in cardio and resistance workout machines so i have no problem. Bring your ipad, or whatever tablet you have. They have wifi here. You can workout while watching your fave shows and you may forget that you are on the cardio machine sweating away your calories!
This is my favorite 24. This place is not very crowded.
There are too many mirrors. I got confused on where everything is located because there are too many mirrors. I understand that they want to make the basement of an old building look retrofitted and with lots of space, but not at the disservice of the customers! When I went, it was post-work workout time with LOTS of people and hardly any free space to lift weights. I walked around several times to get myself re-oriented.
Limited free weight benches & only one set of free weights/ dumbbells. Only one squat rack, bench press, military press. Really low ceiling so you have to find the perfect area to do standing shoulder press or even pull ups (without hitting ceiling fans / lights). Little to no internet connection so streaming music while at the gym is going to be slim to none.
If only I could give this gym 0 stars. Been coming here for 10 years. They have only done 1 "remodel" and to be honest they knocked down a wall and powder coated some of the old machines. It SMELLS LIKE $#!+ AT ALL TIMES. Your hands smell after you're done using any machine
