Gym is decent for working out but it is very dirty. Not the best gym to use in the area. Have seen better gyms with much cleaner equipment and nicer staff.
I've been coming to this gym for about 4 years. They renovated it so that's definitely a plus! It gets packed at around 5-8pm but that's okay since I tend to go at 5am anyway and it's pretty empty. Minus 1 star because there's only 1 smith machine and people are always doing chest presses on it even though there's lots of benches for chest presses lol, oh and parking sucks.
I have been lifting/training for years and ABHOR cardio/classes. This was by far the best cardio experience I have had. Don't get it twisted - this is a challenging workout. The first week I swore I was having an asthma attack and I don't have asthma. I woke every day for a month sore. #truth. But absolutely, unequivocally worth it. It is an intense, full body workout in 60 minutes. In less than a month, I saw my body change and my cardio improve significantly. You start and end on time and no workout is EVER the same.
Ive belong to a few gyms in San Francisco but this one is by far my favorite. The parking is plentiful and the gym facility itself is spacious. Also Matt McBride is a great guy for membership.
Good gym. 5 Olympic lifting platforms/areas and a few more squat racks on top of that. Never have to wait too long for a station/bench/platform. Street parking a bit dodgy if you can't get a spot in the lot. Best to go off peak hours.
24hr HOMELESS SHELTER.
There are vagrants that live and sleep in this gym. Here is are pictures of one of them as he uses the lockers to store food.
The staff don't seem to care. The place is often filthy, and there is only one working toilet in the men's locker room. Disgusting, the general manager at this location should be fired.
I love it! I usually go at night because its not as packed, but ever since the the upgrade its sooo spacious. There are so many new machines and I love the studio rooms where you can go in and workout. The only issue is the parking but the meters are free after 6pm.
Thieves came in today to the locker room and they cut my Gym Lock. Wallet was stolen, Social Security Card was Stolen inside wallet, California Drivers License. Filed a Police report, Staff said I was the 3rd victim today. The Operations Manager could not help, He said it was past 6:00 PM and he was already off the clock. I had to cancel my Debit Card, Change my Social Security Number and speak to police detectives to have them investigate Identity Theft and also pay the DMV for a Driver's license replacement.
It just not a safe place to leave your valuables in the locker rooms and this is the first time in the last 8 years of being a member in many 24 hour fitness that I have had this happen to me.
I can't recommend this gym because the security is not secure enough to prevent theft.

The new renovations are great.
1)The lockers are new and they allow you to set your own combination in case you forget your lock.
2)The cardio machines are ALL NEW.
3)New virtual y reality workout studio on the top floor
4)New free-weights! The best section of the gym in my opinion.
5)Sauna is really nice (180 degrees)
The only thing that can be better is if towels were free!!

Love the renovation. I regularly go past midnight and have to say the new cleaning lady does an outstanding job, the lady's restrooms and locker room extremely clean. That was for the cleaning, now about the homeless that happen to be members and use the gym as a hotel, was up it that, just gives a bad image to the gym.
It needs more free weight bench press. It needs more running treadmill and get rid off the useless cyling machine that are not too many people using and replace it with treadmill. The place looks great after renovation and they replace old equipment with new one. Still have to pay for parking.

This review is not only a review about the updated renovations but also because of one employee that really makes my experience grand. Her name is Jazz and usually she is there in the early mornings. She always greets me with a smile and is always so full of positive energy. It's because of her that made me be motivated to write this review. Thank you 24 for the recent renovations. This is officially my favorite gym to work out at. Thank you!

I've been coming here for about 10 years now and WOW the new remodeling is AMAZING.
I felt claustrophobic on somedays, especially during peak hours but it's so spacious now, the 2nd floor has literally doubled in size too.
The atmosphere and vibe has changed too, great job 24HR Wilshire!
Place recently renovated and it rocks! Brand new equipment, sauna, renovated lockers. Dedicated cycling room. Lots of space. Love it.
Upper management is unavailable and when I did finally get close to meeting the female half of the team. She barked ordered me to sit down and wait.
I left.
Over
I have spoken with several lower level managers, whom by the way were very nice. I left messages. Talked to security.
Finally I catch up with the head guy and he said he was on a phone conference and to email him.
I'm basically just worn out and done!
I have a serious medical ailment that stress triggers along with the lack of exercise . And not been able to workout because of this crazy toxic women that there when I need to be there. Which is early mornings.
She hates me because I accidentally used a shower she bleached and scrubbed down .
I apologized but she's not having it.
She stares me down and just has the most ugly negative energy you can imagine.
It stresses me and triggered one of my episodes.
So I go sporadically. But my Doc says no good.
I know I went on and on, but just be careful because some of those people could be psychologically challenged.
Randomly closes. Poor equipment. Paying an extra $40 a year to keep up with repairs. Very disappointing. Other 24 hour fitness gyms are much better.
Great location, usually busy but if u know what ur doing u can get a decent workout in. Other members complain about it being messy and weights all over the place but I'm pretty sure it's not the employees doing it. Having worked in the industry for over 20yrs it's difficult to maintain a gym where there members are filthy and inconsiderate.
I signed up for a two month membership and it is not positive after first week. It is a combination of factors. The gym looks and feels old and worn. The machines look dated and haven't been maintained as well. It is a bit messy with dumbbells all over the place from people not placeing them back on the rack. Also, the crowd is weird. That is mainly due to it being located in the heart of LA. Just weird and bizarre behavior from some customers is off putting.
A night time customer service rep named John is always very friendly and motivating. He greets everyone coming in and out and if I haven't been there for a while, he notices! John is younger than my children so I'm impressed that someone his age pays that much attention to who comes in and out. Without him, I wouldn't bother going because the place is very small and cluttered unless you go in the middle of the night. The staff are very friendly and it's walking distance from home. Im satisfied.
The reasons for not giving it 5 stars are; it's a very busy gym, small locker room, and parking is free after 7:30
Others complained about bad smell in bathroom, it was true, but it's now much better.
It's an Active Club, but it has a dry Sauna, and private shower rooms.
Parking: looks like no one is sharing this information - you can park on the underground parking structure. I think I paid like $12 or so, one time fee about over a year ago. You will have to go downstairs and ask for it at the parking office during their office hours, if i remember right, it was crappy office hours like closing at 2pm. For 24 hr fitness member it only works after 730pm until 7am i believe. Hope this helps.
Place is dirty and no one cleans it. The stairs to go up the gym are broken and also the bathrooms have a foul smell people who work there are useless. If customers pay money they should at least take care of all thier problems.
It was my 2nd day. I caught some creepry pervert videotaping me working out. He seemed so well known doing that around this gym. I called "manager" right away and "she" didnt know how to handle the situation apparently and didnt acted like it was a big deal. I felt humiliated and angry by the pervert and it felt even worst after this manager treated me. This was the def. Last thing I want to experience at the gym. I met the Supervisors next day and told them everything and cancelled my membership. They offered me some free months thing But god no no no no I wouldnt go there knowing that this pervert might be there. Ladies, please always be careful out there !
I don't understand how there can be homeless people in the dressing rooms or using the facilities. How do they even get in? Do they actually pay the membership? I guess it's cheaper to buy a 30$ month membership and stayed the whole night pretending to exercise than getting a motel room. They should find a way to get rid of this situation.
Parking situation is rough (expected in LA).
Literally not a single staff member made eye contact with me let alone greeted or acknowledged my presence the entire hour plus that I was on site. The equipment is garbage and not enough of it. There were multiple guests standing or (in two cases) sitting on the floor on their phones. The bathroom looks trashed from half assed repairs. Dumbells are all over the place with plenty of staff standing or sitting around doing nothing. The front desk apparently requires two women to man it who are having a non-work related conversation who do not greet or check incoming guests.
I've been to 24 locations all over the southern California area including multiple locations in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas and this is hands down the absolute worst location. Seriously, corporate should be bringing the hammer down on this location.
