I love this YMCA! It is a clean and friendly gym with child care you can actually trust. I used to go to Universal Fitness and the child care involved them playing Mario Kart for an hour- here they get your kids active to promote a healthy lifestyle. I saw a previous google review ripping John's customer service abilities and I couldn't disagree more. He has always been super friendly and professional. As far as him being referred to in an over the top manner in another review about his "bathroom monitoring" I appreciate he doesn't just let any random in without verification. I have witnessed non members trying to use their bathroom facilities so it's not that serious to be asked to verify your membership. The discounted rates for sports that are included in the membership are also a plus because they allow my child to be exposed to a multitude of sports at a discount. Love this gym and the atmosphere the staff and other members provide.

I had an unpleasant experience when I asked the receptionist named John where the restroom was. He ignorantly responded "We don't have public restrooms." I was so taken aback that I was certain that he must have that understood my query so I asked again where the restroom was.

His response again was we don't have public restrooms. I then said "So are you saying that there are no restrooms in this building?" He said "Yes, but we don't have public restrooms." I said "what EXACTLY does that mean?"

He replied "Our restrooms are for Members Only." I said, " And WHY would you just ASSUME that I am NOT a member!?" I then pointed out that I came there all the time and was about to go into a meeting but I need to use the restroom first.

At this point one of my co-members came out of the meeting room to get me and tell me they were about to get started. I said "I'll be there momentarily but I first have to teach this guy about proper customer service."

The self-appointed, presumptious, restroom monitor then pointed to the restroom location. Upon returning I asked for whomever was in charge and he replied that "NOBODY" was in charge.

Only after I persisted did he give me the name of the manager. I guess John seems to think that if his manager is not physically on site that they are no longer "the person in charge."

After looking at the other complaints in regards to the tacky and unprofessional level of customer service that I experienced from John I'm truly not expecting much results from complaining about this so I'm going to take it to the next level and file a written complaint several levels above this one.

If we tolerate less than satisfactory customer service and do little more than whine about it on Yelp then NOTHING will ever change and our complaints will never be taken seriously. Far too often do low-paid bottom rung employees get away with bringing both their conscious and unconscious bias into the workplace which results in discriminatory responses such as Johns.

Also, there is a REASON that John chose to respond in this way and to just ASSUME that I had no right to use the restroom ...even though I come here all the time and he surely has seen me several times!

(Does ANYBODY go into this YMCA from the outside JUST to use the restroom? ...EVER!!?) An idiot could tell from my attire that I was not jogging, biking or meandering around on foot and NOBODY would park their car there just for that reason!

Regardless, the ONLY response should have been "ARE YOU A MEMBER", if anything ...but even THAT would have been a bit much unless he was CONSISTENT ...and we all know that is NOT the case.

Sorry but I shall NOT endure the pettiness of small-minded people who are uncouth and poorly equipped to respond properly to such a simple query.

Went to sign my daughter up for the summer day camp program. received a packet with all info needed and a page with the payment options as seen below. in the packet it stated to pay weekly the amount due for each week and options on how to pay ( cash credit ect ) when dropped the packet off they stated that this was new and they needed to implement in the system. it took 8 calls and me having to go to the office in person for them to tell me it was actually wrong and i would need to pay $1500 upfront. if its in the packet of info provided it should be honored!! now school is out in 2 days thanks for leaving me time to make other arrangements YMCA. you would think with all the money you were going to be getting paid you could at least return a f****** phone call. For a " non-profit " you guys sure know how to stick it to them.

Positive vibe here. Busy place, but employees keep it friendly. Love the lap pool. Only real problem is when lessons spill into lap pool when there is a shutdown for maintenance in aerobics/lessons pool. Quite a few times that pool gets shut down due to a child pooping in the pool. There are regulations requiring swim diapers that, apparently, get ignored. Parents ought to be required to sign a waiver that they will be billed a large financial penalty if they ignore the regulation and an accident occurs. Not fair to others who must deal with closures of up to three hours.

Been going for almost 2 years now and it's a Decent gym. I go here for the kid zone mainly. The cardio machines are good tvs and charger ports on some. Fans on machines are great because there's very poor ventilation in the main workout room, it smells of mental, rubber, sweat & chemicals. Hour on the weekends are very limited closing at 3 on a Saturday is a disadvantage, for the amount people pay the hours should be longer on the weekends.

It's an ok place it's small and extremely busy depending on the time you go they could improve the space by removing their desert garden in the back they don't let you go on. They have a pool, they're cheap and got good classes even if they are a bit crowded.

As a mother of two young boys, I decided that I would enroll them in their swim lessons. That was a BIG mistake from the moment they walked into the pool the lifeguards were micromanaging EVERYTHING they did. (And I was a lifeguard/swim instructor for over 10 years.)That is something you don't do with young children. But the icing on the cake for me was when the head lifeguard put her hand around my youngest sons neck to restrain him from getting back in the pool to sit on the first step. I voiced the problem to the site director which he did nothing about it. So, I took my boys out of that hostile environment. Also, the cardio/weight room is lacking several machines if you are really into building muscles. They do offer a fair amount of classes but overall the place is okay. If you are a parent who has children please think twice before enrolling them in swim classes.
