I absolutely love having a membership with Planet Fitness. I am a traveling RN and the familiarity at my gym helps me stay on track.

This Planet Fitness is awesome and one of the best I've been too. The amenities are everything you need for the price, it's always clean, and if you come frequently enough, the staff greets you by name at the door. That's always so touching to me every time. I lost 20lbs for my wedding at Planet Fitness! Hooray!

I love Planet Fitness because it provides quality access to a gym at little cost to the consumer. People need a place like this where they won't be judged while trying something new. Exercise and training are some of the most healthy activities that help relieve stress, and Planet Fitness is a great place to get that into your life. Not to mention the summer promotion they have for young adults where they can work out for free! How awesome is that! I love to see it.
If I could point out some areas of improvement, it would be to have more than three benches for squatting, bench press, etc.. and to use something other than paper towels to wipe down machines. I can't imagine how much waste members are creating just by wiping down their equipment. Not sure what the cost benefit analysis would look like, but maybe an investment in some rags and some washing machines may be in order. Or maybe even a bring your own rag encouragement.

Friendly staff and good equipment. People complain about a lunk alarm. Yet, I have never heard it go off. I'm only giving 4 stars because of the bank account being required, other than that it is worth going for the price.

Awesome price, but they want your financial banking information. They refuse to do recurring credit card billing. Will only let you join if you give them permission do directly pull money from Checking account. I will never join as long as this policy is in effect

I can't get over just how trashy the people here are.. not just the dirty mongrels attending the gym (including the tough guy wanna-be types), but the garbage attitude of the staff as well. Most of the time there is about a half dozen *staff members* standing (or sitting) around either laughing at people or on their phones. They treat you like a drive through fast food customer when they check you in IF they say anything at all - I will say that it's almost always the female employees who are terrible, nasty, and apathetic, the guys are much friendlier and more helpful.
Beyond that, there is NO standard for people attending this gym. Several times I have had crazy people come up to me in the locker room and ask me for money, who look like they were homeless and on drugs. It's either that or the people who are typical Tucson trash, staring at you and pretending to be tough - which is quite funny when they're a foot shorter than you. I've complained to the staff about the people in the locker room and was brushed off, same people there the next day. It's a toxic atmosphere with an indifferent, if not antagonistic staff and wanna be thug-life clientele. It's pathetic, I ended up cancelling my membership and paying a little bit more, somewhere else, to avoid this dumpster fire location.

I think that the trainers at this gym are top notch really and they know their stuff. There are no easy and lazy work outs here! Out of all trainers I have worked with in past, they are the best!

The gym is clean and welcoming, the staff is friendly.... the only complaint I have is that it is so far away. I really wish there was a planet fitness in Marana.

Judgment free zone and they reward you with pizza! What's not to love? They also have hydromassage, massage chairs and great bulbs in their tanning beds.

I've been a member for four years. It is a nice, clean inexpensive gym. Lots of machines are available for cardio and strength workouts. I have the black membership. It allows me to take a guest with me anytime I go. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

I do love this chain. It varies by location. Traveling a lot and wanting to bring my partner, I have the black card membership. My partner can come for free, I can go to any franchise in the country, plus tanning, and it's $25 a month with fees. It's not for gym rats. It's about regular people staying fit. This location has foam rollers and a yoga area. It's kept clean and comfortable. If you want a nicer gym, feel free to pay $60 a month at 'regular ' gyms. I just like to do cardio and weights 2-4 days a week. It's a high bang for the buck if you use it. Also the gym rat douche bags have started avoiding it because they can't grunt, dress weird, and drop weights.

To me, Planet Fitness is a casual gym membership. It's a great place to go when you want to start getting back into shape and building good exercise habits. As you start to get closer to your health and fitness goals, you will start to realize that it lacks quite a bit as far as gyms go but that's okay because as I mentioned before PF is a casual gym.
As far as being affordable, that's what Planet Fitness is. Plans start at $10/mo, but if you want a black card it's double that. If you don't go to the gym everyday for whatever reason, you won't have that huge monthly membership fee to guilt you into going even when/if you can't.
They have a ton of cardio machines but as far as weight lifting machines go, it can be very difficult getting onto machines unless you go during dead hours. For me, that's between 2-4am. But check Google's popular times to determine what's a good fit for your schedule. I find that the graph is accurate as far as popular or crowded times go.
The place is extremely clean. The locker rooms are disgustingly clean. There's free Wi-Fi for music or whatever else you use to complete your workout. They offer free pizza once a week, bagels as well, and they offer free candy daily. This personally doesn't add anything nutritional to my diet so I pass on the offerings, but I think it's a great idea. It really sets the gym up for a casual, non-judgmental atmosphere which is what people who are out of shape sort of need to get them on the proper health and fitness track.
I have found that most of the employees are friendly and polite but I don't go to the gym to socialize with the employees so I don't interact with them outside of checking in with my phone.
As I said before, I feel the weight lifting machines are limited in number and sometimes quality. But for now PF is really helping me build positive long-term fitness habits with its casual gym environment so I'm happy to work with what they've got until I'm ready to move on to more serious fitness goals.

I just cancelled my membership today!! The reason why.I asked the worker about 2 weeks ago about the Handle push . Which is supposed to be have at least 2 of it and she told me I will let the manager know and today asked her aging she told me that will order it in Future lol really how so how can we play lol .. anyway they were friendly, but honestly they don't have enough things to play thanks

Within 4 months of going here and eating properly I lost 50 pounds. No it wasn't just the gym, but the atmosphere is great and makes me want to go often and eat properly to fit in a gym setting. Honestly this place kinda saved my life and got me to being as healthy as I was in high school 8 years ago. I've met great people there too, one I'd have to say is 2 months into being my best friend (:
