If you need help the staff are friendly and helpful. James was an awesome trainer, he helped brake down some simple work out routines to help me target the areas i want to improve.
First off their new upgrades are amazing. Loved my LA Fitness spot before and now I'm ready to marry it! My wife and I really love the addition of the functional fitness area. Getting bored of working out the same old way...use toys! ALSO AND MOST IMPORTANTLY:
The personal trainer Damien is a super duper awesome AF! His guidance through my fitness journey, the level of detail that he pays to me, and the times he's allowed my wife and I to work together make him the fitness god in my eyes. His enthusiasm and infectious spirit also make him a cut above the rest. Seriously...go to Russian, clone him (cause Russia am I right), and install Damiens across LA Fitness locations world wide. You (LA Fitness) hit the jack pot with him!
Everyone there, especially Damien, deserve a huge high-five, a raise, and fountains that dispense local beer...well maybe not that last one cause calories and drunken exercising...but maybe so?!?!?
It just opened after renovations, new floor and equipment. Similar equipment but looking new. They did a full remodeling of the locker stalls and showers areas. See photos.
This gym is about as close to maximum capacity as you can get every time I'm there. Combine with the fact the equipment is outdated, its overall cleanliness is lacking, and the personal trainers are pushy makes for a inadequate gym experience. If you can find an alternative gym I suggest somewhere other LA Fitness!
EDIT: Adding photos to contribute to evidence that this place needs HELP. Their equipment and cleanliness has steadily declined and is just getting worse.
The steam room needs attention. Many guests are nasty! Don't even shower or rinse off before coming from sweaty steam or sauna and go straight to the pool! Disgusting...
One of the older - near 30 years - LAF buildings in Phoenix. In desperate need of a makeover, from decor to equipment to facilities. What they have might work for the average person, but I have never been average and I don't plan to start now.
I really like the variety of equipment this gym has. The steamroom is my favorite. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This will b my home gym forever!

Love the fact that this location is open till 11pm, wide range of amenities and the heated pool is great, only one of 3 locations in Arizona that have both a steam room and dry sauna, free classes and no cancellation fee, what more could you ask for!

Previous 24 hr fitness location bought out by La Fitness so not fair to compare to other La Fitness locations. It has an Average Joe's gym feel to it. Just the essentials with nothing fancy. Enough to get a workout in, but don't expect smoothie bars and luxury amenities or the latest equipment.

Men's room is always filthy, they're too cheap to pay to have it cleaned. And the last few days the air con hasn't even been working. But the final straw was today when I saw a large dead cockroach lying in the corner. But hey, it is cheap. Classic you get what you pay for.

This has been my gym for years now. But since being run by LA Fitness I must say it has been running at it's most efficient, the pool, the sauna, the bikes and treadmills all working well at the same time! This means my workout is seamless.

If I could put less than a one star I would. Kevin lied about the so called month to month contract that actually ended up a 6 month contract so when I moved I thought cool...it's month to month...but wrong! I was his best friend at signing but saw him the next day at Safeway and he had no clue....SMH. THEN, was told several times that it would end on a certain date and I would NOT be charged again....WRONG....charged again! One payment was missed due to my account changing...totally innocent. I travel a lot so I didn't see it BUT OMG, this organization called me like I owed them 1 million dollars!!!!! and stole their kid or something...unreal! Then I called and gave them the payment and I WAS TOLD IT WAS PAID AND DONE AND NOT TO BE CHARGED AGAIN......but the unauthorized...charged again..............WILL NEVER BE BACK!!!! This is a direct reflection of the leadership of the organization. POS
They put tile in the locker rooms which helped the cleanliness a lot. However, much of the equipment is older. Open 24bhours though, which is a huge plus.
I've had enough of this gym. I am canceling my membership immediately, I rather pay $100plus a month for a gym membership and assure that I'm going to have a clean environment to work out in instead of coming to something that is unsanitary and just downright disgusting. I brought this to the attention of the operations manager and she assured me that things will change. However, I've seen no progress. The steamroom and sauna are always so filthy. I'll be joining the village gym down the street.

An older club, was once a 24 hour fitness. Old equipment and old locker room. It is a big club but everything is stuffed upstairs except for the pool, kids club and locker rooms.
Went to this location when my gym was being remodeled. Equipment is dated. Has some yucky carpet. Needs a refresh like the one near 20th and Camelback received. Keep trying LA Fitness!
Im so upset, I paid first and last month member ship, I went to cancel member ship on 03.01.2018 and was told I had to come back in M-F 9-5 to CANCEL! I went home and was not happy with answer, due to when I signed up I was told no hussle to cance...As you can see this was a lie.. My member ship renews on the 4th, I went don there to cancel on the 1st, then called and was told not worry the rep would have this cancel by the 2nd. Well when they took more money out today the 6th I called to find out WHY, and guess what , no a surprise but there is no one there that can help me, and I have to wait for a call back!! This is not how you keep members!!
It has good equipment but the place is completely unpleasant. the bathrooms are disgusting, the bathooms' floor is very durty. All people share the same space. In the afternoons especially in the night it gets super full. The sauna is the dirtiest place in the gym. When you go inside the sauna, look at the door it seems like it has never been cleaned.

Building is old and my allergies act up as soon as I go in. Great instructors!
Nice equipment, very hot steam and whirlpool tub. However, facility is showing signs of age. Stained, worn carpet, showers lacking cleanliness, other fixtures in poor state of maintenance.
Given the condition of facility, overpriced.
I am an avid gym goer and I have never been to a gym that is as unfriendly as this one. Every day when I come in I get completely ignored unless the tag scanner isn't out in which case I get a very unpleasant look from whoever is working the front desk because I am making them do something. Every time I am here the staff makes me feel like I am a huge inconvenience.
In regards to the equipment, it is very old and there are only two squat racks!
This place is incredibly outdated and dirty. I was a member here 6 years ago when they were 24 Hour Fitness and the equipment, locker rooms and facilities are all still the same from then. I swear the out of place, different colored tiles in the showers and soap scum/mineral stains on the walls are all in the same place. There are much better gyms in the area.
It's okay. The equipment is a little old. Kind of beat up. But it works and not too crowded with people.
This gym needs to Open the hours on the weekends...not everyone goes out to the bars on Friday Saturday nights..going to switch to another gym so its open 24hrs..
Okay so here is an update I started this membership online and this company had no problem taking my money from me without me coming in in person to start an account. Now that I want to close the account all of a sudden it's only upper management that can close your account Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 at the actual facility. So now I have to be there in person for them to stop taking money from me is what I'm being told. While at the gym trying to dispute the bill and cancel membership management told me that I need to leave if I'm going to talk bad about the company. It is my legal right to call out shotty business practices when I see it. The facility was not in danger nor was anybody threatened but I was asked to leave because they did not like my dissatisfaction. Bad for new business because they don't want anybody to know how it really works. Contacting a lawyer now in regards class action lawsuit.
I was there once and felt like I traveled back to 93. Lots of space and old equipment. Floors were disgusting and so were the locker rooms. Staff was nice.
I only go to this location because it's close to me. This location needs major improvement. Most of the treadmills are always out of service. I've been going here for over a year now and they are still broken. The women's bathroom is disgusting. The stalls are usually out of service or not flushing. They really need to fix this location up.
No idea what's going on at this location but have heard horror stories. Girl at front desk on 07.01.17 was manning her front desk with her compact and makeup brush being really rude to people signing in. Don't like. Skip LA Fitness and go to another Gym - too many other gyms in the neighborhood, this one's not worth it!!!
