Signed up for some training sessions. I had 4 originally for the $19.75 promotion. I couldn't make it to them even told the trainers I couldn't because work and school. Ended up charging me $128. Spoke to the GM Brian Shaw about opting out of the classes. He told me I was stuck on a 4 month plan minimum. This was never shown too me right at the beginning. He told me he would freeze my account until the issue is resolved. This morning I checked my account and I was again charged $128 for the classes he supposedly froze. I tried getting a refund for the first charge of $128 and now I will have to "try" to ask for a refund on this $128. I read the reviews about sketchy business practice and read it was really hard to get your money back. The other reviews are right. Be careful to all those who sign up with EOS. There is an on going theme with cancellation or refunds. The staff always imply the manager is on break or something say they will call you back and they don't. Please be careful with this gym.

This is an amazing facility, with an amazing group supporting it. Eos should consider themselves very lucky to have such a team behind them. First off, this is all based on my personal experience, having been in and out of many gyms since the high school days. Any equipment you're looking for, you should be able to find here. If you cant, one of the trainers are always willing to help you find a substitute workout that will give you similar, if not better, results.

Speaking on the training staff, Justin is a real talent. Not only will this guy put you through a tough workout, but he'll keep you safe from injury, and will also show you proper technique... plus the dude is just athletic, plain and simple. Very intelligent and will not let you down.

Zach is a top notch manager, with a great sales/front desk staff. A few that stand out to me personally would be Emily, Justin, and of course, Miss Sunshine. Any and all questions I've ever had have been handled with care, kindness, and a fair resolution.

Anyone considering working here should consider it even more, there's a real family bond between these guys and you can feel the passion they put into their work each and every day. I would love to be a part, but sadly it wasn't meant to be.

I'll continue to recommend this company, and this gym specifically, to anyone I meet. Thank you all staff for making me feel so welcome.

It's hard to beat this price for what they offer. I have always had a good experience at the childcare center, and my kids love it. One of my favorite parts has been how easy they are to work with. In the past I've had to cancel my membership twice for different time periods, and I didn't get any runaround or difficulty. Which is why I will never hesitate to sign up again in the future.

Love love love this gym. Vee is the most welcoming person there and always motivates us when we walk in. Garrett is amazing and explained everything clearly and made sure all of our questions were answered before we signed up. Got 5 friends to join and still referring more! This place is awesome!

Love the variety of equipment from the past decades when it was Gold's and how they're remodeling it to improve it's atmosphere?

I was at the gym this evening, planning on becoming a member. I live five minutes away, and I saw a man yelling at another employee in front of everyone in the gym, very unprofessional. I later found out the man was the manager. I cannot belong a health club with such a asinine manager. he must be on steroids
respectfully,
GJ

I gave this gym a 1 star a year ago due to incompetency of the staff. I still stand by that. The gym itself is not bad at all, it's the staff. Everyone at the front desk is rude, if you have billing issue. You're better off going to entirely new gym then working it out with them. As simple as changing a form of payment you can hear the staff's frustration or sass. Depending on what staff it is. Point is the owner of this gym should really retrain their staff or hire a new manager who loves their job and will represent the company in a more professional setting.

Staff doesn't seem to care about customer service. It's like a slap in the face with a smile. I plan on leaving to another gym as soon as my contract is up. I will pay more for a gym with good customer service that will try and find a solution for you. I don't see this at this eos Location.

I was a Planet Fitness member prior to this one and I'm so glad I come here now. They have minimal cardio machines and mostly weight lifting! I'm an early bird and I love that I don't have to worry about parking or a crowded atmosphere. The pricing is right for the member benefits! My only negative is that when signing up, I was not made aware about the free PT session. I received a call saying they were so happy to see me for my appointment that was scheduled. I was so confused, I told the staff I was not aware so he said he'd have the trainer call back to reschedule. It's been about 3 weeks now and still no call back. I'm not worried about it but the staff communication can improve.

Sneaky annual membership dues with no reminder email, even though they have your email address.... no attempt to make it right with late fees (1 day later because I didn't keep extra in that account, only what was needed to cover auto bills)

Peace, I'll lift somewhere cleaner and nicer for a little more. Returning to L.A. Fitness.

I am completely fed up with this gym. There are a couple cardio machines that have been malfunctioning for the better part of a year. I've stopped notifying staff members because they haven't done anything about the issue the last dozen times I've asked. I have been requesting for them to turn the AC up at least once every week or two for over 4 months now. They keep this place heated up to 78- over 80 degrees or more. This isn't a hot yoga studio and shouldn't be kept at such heated temperatures. I've seen multiple pregnant women trying to workout in these temperatures and brought the attention to multiple staff members that this is unsafe for them (as well as the rest of the population) to workout in such temperatures. Each time I ask, the staff member claims they can't do anything about it but will let the manager know. Either the staff members are full of it or the mangers don't care about the safety and comfort of their patrons.
This place is filthy on a regular basis and smells like a sweaty locker room all throughout the gym. There is a small circuit room that is surprisingly cooler than the rest of the gym. I decided to workout in here to avoid the heat. The corner was pooling with what looked like dirty toilet water and a dirty wet paper towel or piece of toilet paper was left lying on the floor. It appeared that someone tracked the water onto one of the machines I sat down at which dripped dirty oily looking water on my pants that I'm not sure is going to come out. I've lifted free weights before that grazed my shirt and left permanent oil marks on clothes in the past as well.
This gym needs some serious attention! I wish the management would clean this place up, show a little more courtesy to the patrons here, and turn on some air before someone ends up having a heat stroke. I've been to other EOS locations that are much better so I'm wondering why they can't seem to get it together over here.

The gym itself is good and the price is right, but this place is so damn busy all the time. Goodluck with parking and ever getting a complete workout without having to sub or skip something because it's always occupied.

Edit I've been a member for a month and was charged a $50 annual fee after 1 month? While signing up was made aware of the $50 sign up fee but not an annual fee after a month which makes no sense given the fee name being annual. Instead of waiving the fee or offering something other than " you signed " I'm just gonna complain with their finance department and update my review. End rant.

DO NOT change anything about this gym! Love the metal plates, the sound of them clanking together motivates you while you lift! Usually go to hilgley pecos, but will be switching over here now

Pretty good gym. This location is always busy and limited parking. I've been there at 9am-3pm times and usually busy. There are usually many spots open on the cardio equipment and none that are out of order currently as they were fixed. There are lots of guys on the weight lifting machines and usually hard to find a spot at the pulley cable weight station areas.

Whoever keeps cooking whatever it is at around 1130 every single night should stop. Literally stinks up the whole gym and makes me want to throw up. People should be more considerate. It's a gym. Not your house.

Can I give 0 stars. I
literally hate this place parking is horrible it's an extremely small gym the people that work out are completely rude and do not realize there are other people around the day care staff is great but completely crowded
I go in to the Gilbert and baseline location for what I was told a 2 week trial the day I go it they sign me up I really didn't understand if I was only there for a trial but the corporate guy said its procedure fine I get charged around 150 that day and 2 weeks later another 150 which is ridiculous at the end of my 2 week I just don't like the gym as listed above I email the man that signed me up he doesn't respond so i go in they say i can cancel and not bill me any more which is bs I want my money back I feel like I was scammed and taken advantage of as a single mom I don't just throw away money like that and to make it worse I'm miserable while working out I don't know what to do

Good place to work out. The only issue is how busy this place gets. In the afternoon it's hard to get your routine in when 5 of the 6 machines are taken. Also when something gets damaged or broke, it takes weeks to get fixed. They have got better at putting new weights and stairmasters in.

May 15, 2018 02:26

They need to step up their game with coaching the locker/bathrooms. It is very nasty. Good equipment, nice staff. Would have given 4 stars I'd not die the lack of cleanliness.

May 9, 2018 01:31

The staff are great but compared to the EOS in Tempe, Olive Ave and a few others, this one is pretty outdated.. I usually drive farther daily to go to the other locations because this gym resembles a giant box with limited space. Tons of Meatheads there and I do respect that.

Good, affordable gym. Never too busy and the staff are always great. Machines are kept in good shape.

April 12, 2018 17:47

They scam you by misleading you into a contract. The equipment is old and dirty. The staff is rude. The Zumba class was a joke. The sound system had blown speakers and it was very lame. I wish I did not choose EOS. They just want your money. I had been lied to numerous times. Please choose a better gym dont waste your time it will save you a ton of headaches!

March 11, 2018 20:40

I am disappointed because I was misled in my membership. I originally signed up at the Gilbert location but usually work out in Tempe. I have been doing so for months now. I recently was made aware I'm only allowed to work out at the Gilbert location while signing in at Tempe. I was very upset and did not enjoy my workout. I was about to just go ahead and cancel my membership. I was told I would be able to work out at any location minus the downtown gym at the time of my signing. Obviously this is not the case. I was explained by Kevin at Tempe what I signed up for and I get it but I was initially misinformed.

January 9, 2018 01:31

When I joined EOS I joined because I had had a cervical spine surgery and I had been laid up prior to the surgery for quite some time and I was just ready to get my life back and be in a better place and came in there with the super positive outlook. From day one they lied to us they were deceitful to get us to make contracts and to join and then after joining there were a few issues but all-in-all at first I was just more focused on getting healthy and working out and then I went through a force and because it set me back financially and I was really struggling and I went to EOS and ask them very nicely if they could put me into a lower membership that would save me about $10 a month knowing my story and how much I had been through and the difficult time I was having the only thing they cared about was sure will be happy to put you in a lesser membership for a fee of almost $35. Mean I was pretty emotional when I went and talked to the girl about changing my membership and she knew why I'm at zero compassion and was only about making money I was just appalled at the way that they treated me and their complete lack of compassion or any regard for my well-being. My membership contract is over next month and I will be cancelling and I will never be returning to EOS Fitness and I wouldn't recommend anybody else go there either they don't care about people they care about money and only money.

October 24, 2017 13:58

I recently had signed up here just last month but decided to cancel due to it being so busy and having to wait upwards of 10-15 minutes for each machine. After I decided to quit I tried canceling but they cannot cancel my membership at the gym. It seems to me that their operations needs a bit of work. That being said, they gave me a number to call to cancel my membership & it had me waiting at least 10-15 minutes and I finally got a hold of somebody to cancel my membership but they still charged me for a month of being at the gym when I was there for not even a half hour on my first day there. I am truly disappointed & I do not reccomend this gym at all. They also let people in without a membership from what I heard.. At this time I'm fighting the charge with EOS and they are denying it.. The customer is always right...

October 24, 2017 13:58

NOTE: THIS IS AN OLD REVIEW THAT WAS WRITTEN ABOUT GOLD'S GYM. THEY ARE NOW EOS FITNESS, WHICH I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO.

I hate this gym unlike any I have ever hated, before.

Firstly, the place is always packed. I've gone there as early as 5:00 AM and as late as 7:00 PM. It is always difficult to find a parking spot. It's in a plaza, so you can park in front of another business and walk, but the owners of those businesses don't appreciate that, and I can't blame them. If you're lucky, you'll be able to walk in and start working out but, much of the time, you're going to be waiting around doing nothing for a while.

Secondly, the employees don't enforce the rules, except for the ones at the front desk who will fine you for not bringing a workout towel and bar a guest from coming in and working out with you because he/she forgot to bring ID. You may want to go out of your way to wash down any equipment you plan to use because, more often than not, the person before you didn't bother, and the employees couldn't care less.

Thirdly, many of the members are extremely rude. Large groups of five or more people will come in and hog a bench press machine, doing one rep and then three or more other exercises around, but not involving, the machine just to make sure no one steps in and takes it. You want to say something while you're waiting around for a half hour, but you don't have the heart to tell them that they're using the machine backwards.

Fourthly, their own, personal trainers often don't know what they're doing. I stood and watched one trainer attempt to teach someone how to do barbell squats, telling the person that it's a perfectly cool thing to have bent wrists. When the trainee's elbows and wrists started hurting to the point where he was shaking, the trainer just told him to power through it.

Lastly, a lot of the equipment is old and needs to be replaced. I've been to much smaller gyms that have had equipment that was more in date. The elliptical machines, especially, leave a lot to be desired.

All-in-all, you get what you pay for. Sure, membership is dirt cheap, and if you like incompetence, stupid rules, bad equipment, rude people, and waiting, then I guess it's a pretty good deal. Honestly, though, I would much rather pay $50/month to know that I can go to my gym when I want to and get a good workout without being rushed and without worrying about getting fined because of idiocy.

Love this place.. the staff is awesome and my daughter loves the kid center staff.. Ashley & Jenny specially... the trainers are also Excellent.. I've been lifting there the last 3 years and I must say..."the prices for this 24hr gym are insanely low!".. it use to be Golds so they have all the power lifting equipment plus a bunch of cardio and multiple types of circuit training equipment so ensure you will never plateau....5 stars since I first started...

I am a retired disabled veteran, and I was sexually assaulted and harassed by one of the EOS female personal fitness trainer's. Who also, happened to be engaged. She placed her breast on the back of my head and neck a minimum of nine times during a 30 minute session. To include, several advancements to get with me. In addition to, I was verbally assaulted, as well as, made fun of by one of their young arrogant male fitness trainer's when I shared my fitness goals during his so called assessment. Truly not a place who appreciates clientele. Even when you are paying $380.00 dollars a month in personal training fitness dues. Corporate dismissed all of my firm evidence of the sexual harassment text messages and gave me a partial refund. Which covered the paid training sessions that I had not utilized due to the sexual assault and harassment. I have not returned to any of the EOS facilities. The sexual assault and harassment was also, in front of my 16 year old son. This corporation, made it perfectly clear they are not concerned about the people who help them to thrive. Their only concern is placing you on the books as steady income to keep the lights on not you as a person nor your fitness or health needs. I would never recommend such an unprofessional business. Lastly, men and women are victims of sexual assault and harassment. It would have been a very different outcome if I was the predator instead, of being the victim. Boundaries are necessary. Regardless, of the gender, unwanted sexual advancements or sexual attention needs to be respected. Furthermore, sexual harassment is how it is perceived by the one being sexually harassed. Sexual harassment is not something corporate headquarters, nor the personal fitness trainer can say, did not happen.
