The Barre Code is great! I am a fitness person, always looking for a good workout and prefer group exercise settings. I am fortunate to have been involved in a very supportive/warm/welcoming gym family before ... but things change and people move on. I looked and tried new things and found numerous good workouts but never a place like this. The workout is challenging, yes and that's extremely important when giving somewhere an hour of your day, but the absolute best thing about this place is the people and the environment. The owner, the instructors and the clients all care about you as a person. How are you doing in your personal life, your professional life and also in your fitness life. If you get to class early, they are always willing to chat and give encouraging words in all areas ... and then they start the music to give you a great workout that hits all the rights areas of your body that need to be worked (you know those places!). Throughout the class they give you great encouragement and tell you when you have your form right which makes you want to work to maintain the form even while you're burning and shaking. And they always end class with a restorative stretch and a beautiful mantra for you to carry with you the rest of your day. This place does it all right!

To be honest I've never really been one for working out. Also, I am easily embarrassed so new workouts or new space can at times be intimidating if I feel I can't do it perfectly. So it's important to me to feel welcomed and to find a workout space that is super supportive of me, and I found that at The Barre Code Tuscaloosa.

Even before I started taking classes there, I knew it was a place I wanted to be because of how kind and genuinely supportive the staff was. With very little convincing, I tried my first class and I absolutely loved it! There are different kinds of classes, so it's easy to find the workout that matches your energy depending on the day. The owner Cat and all the instructors are incredible and make each class fun and inclusive, which removes any stress from feeling like I have to know what I'm doing (because I don't). The instructors meet you at your fitness level wherever that may be from "never tried a barre class before" to "I do this all the time." The studio also has a kids room, which is great for busy and working moms.

TL; DR: The Barre Code Tuscaloosa is an amazing place and you should come and try it. I promise, you'll be glad that you did and love it as much as I do!

I am so happy The Barre Code opened in Tuscaloosa. It's exactly what I look for in a workout studio - a supportive and encouraging group of women and an incredibly challenging workout. You will feel welcome here no matter your experience level in barre. I always get a really good workout that challenges my mind and body. Plus, there are several different types of classes, so you can work cardio into your weekly routine. I love that classes are 50 minutes long and every second is planned so you feel like the time you are putting in for yourself everyday is maximized and no minute is wasted. The staff is incredible and is so well-trained. They all have a different routine that is changed very frequently, so your workout never feels the same. I think that your workout place should be a space where you feel known, and Barre Code is really good at making everyone feel like family. With barre, cardio and stretch classes, it's truly a place you can get a well-rounded workout experience and never get bored.
