They say it's a place without judment and the put judgemental signs insulting people that grunt or wear tangtops while they work. Equipment is old and no free weights. Terrible gym, not even worth 10 dollars a month.

So, I had a 5 star review here... until... this happened... I had an extra account for someone in my family. They work a lot of hours at the hospital and just couldn't make it in. I went in in February to cancel it. Went through the process with the lady at the counter. March... I am charged a yearly membership fee for this account that has never been used.
I speak to someone at the gym and she leaves a note in my account. I go in the next day and the manager decides that I am lying and she would rather charge me a yearly membership for this account. When I protested she pulled up the "contract" and starts reading it to me like I can't read.
Super offended and super disappointed that service doesn't mean anything to businesses nowadays. It's about the all mighty dollar. So I went ahead and cancelled the extra account and downgraded to regular member from black card member. If I didn't have a specific weight loss goal and time - I would have cancelled my account right then.

I really, REALLY enjoy this location. The staff at this location knew me by name the first week that I started going there and I have came back very often (average of 3-4/week) and I have felt welcomed every single time.
I initially joined out of concern for my health and quality of life. Being young, but having early onset medical conditions has really alarmed me and going through physical therapy has pushed me to see what I can do to help myself. And that's when I joined Planet Fitness.
I don't feel judged, I don't feel uncomfortable, and I feel like I'm able to work at my own pace and in my own space if needed, but I enjoy seeing unfamiliar faces that become familiar. We all have goals in mind and it can be motivating for one another. In addition, they offer personalized training for those who are targeting a specific goal.
The fact that they operate 24-hr/day makes it super convenient for virtually anyone and their onsite showers and locker rooms allow for you to get cleaned up before leaving.
I plan to keep returning over and over again! Thank you!

Absolutely love it. So many great offers and great prices. Everything in ome place. Tan, body enhancement machine, 2 different types of massages. Really clean positive atmosphere. Professional and friendly staff. And all for $23 dollars a month. Some places charge more just for tanning! Highly recommend

Absolutely love this gym.... I don't understand the pizza on Mondays due to the fact its unhealthy but hey it is what it is. The tanning beds are way better than paying 80 a month for a tanning salon. They are clean always bright bulbs and the staff are amazing

I love working out here, but it takes too long to make repairs. The beauty angel is a very important part of my workout and it's been down for about 2 weeks so I have to drive all the way to the Madison location if I want to use one. I have been a member for about 3 yrs and I've gone through this quite a few times with different equipment.

This place is like my second home, and I just had to write a review because I saw people 1-star it.
It is super clean. Staff is cool. This facility is truly 24/7 which is different from most other Planet Fitnesses.
All the standard amenities.
There's a raffle for a ridiculously large T.V. right now too.

I really enjoyed the relaxation in the message chairs after work! But the lady when we walked in took awhile before she noticed us due to her playing on her cell phone. Which bugged me but after she stopped her attitude was great and kind. Although I do believe limited phone use for employees would be ideal!

I had my membership for 2 months and then was charged $39 for an annual fee. I moved and was charged another annual fee the next year (cancelled my membership a month after). The annual fee should be for the year you use it (or at least 3 months into the year). A membership here cost me $100 the first 3 months. Please know it is not just $20 a month. There are fees that are not refundable. My just $20 a month black card membership cost me $360 for 14 months.... just a heads up. You sign a yearly contract with the black card...

I had finally talked my BF into becoming a member so we could go together. We walked into the Huntsville PF and I said sign him up! The girl at the desk said they needed a checking account routing number. I said "here's my debit card that you already use for my payment", but she wouldn't accept it. I don't have any checks for this account anyway. She seemed like she had an attitude and wouldn't even try to sign him up without a "routing number". I will immediately be cancelling my membership with Planet Fitness.

Great place to get back in shape. Not a fan of the lunk alarm or weight limits, however it is a great place for someone who is more interested in health than bodybuilding

Fun staff. Great price for what you get. Lots on cardio machines. Parking lot spaces are a little tight especially if you have a big SUV or truck.

Always come late at night. Night staff is very kind and personable. Malachi is helpful and i enjoy chatting with him when i come in. Tanning beds are always clean and the massage chairs are so comfortable. 20 bucks goes so far here!!!! Its the perfect place to start your fitness goals without dealing with the stereotype "gym" folk . No judge zone!!

This is a very clean and well taken care of gym. Definitely good if you are just starting out and don't have strength-specific goals considering it's 90% cardio machines.
However if you're tempted to join because this is a cheap gym, you should know a couple things:
1. The black card membership is a complete scam. If you're doing it just so you can bring your buddy, you're both better off just paying 10 each. The "black card membership spa" is literally just some tanning beds and massage chairs a step up from what you'd find in a mall.
2. The charge to downgrade from a black card member to a regular member is $60, so three month's membership charge.
3. If for any reason there's a month that you cannot pay your gym membership, the gym will refuse to freeze your account unless you're in the hospital or the military
4. PLANET FITNESS DOES NOT HANDLE THEIR OWN BILLING. They personally charged me twice this month and told me to call a collections agency to handle that. So in short I just have to accept that I've been charged twice this month. And I've heard other members complain about the same thing.
There are other gyms on University alone, think carefully before you join

The manager Kerry there is just plane rude. We canceled out service with them and were not told that we would still be charged for the month or that for that month we could still use the gym. We go in to get refund on our money and the manager Kerry is very rude in asking what we need. I can tell that she is busy so we wait patiently as she goes back and forth from helping us and other things and we explain the situation to her and she makes as if we are lying and tells us no she cant help there is nothing at all she can do even though she is the manager.

Everything is clean and in good condition. Nice atmosphere, everyone minds their own business. My only complaint is that the staff is horribly rude. It's like the management offers a $100 bonus to the most rude staff member each week, so now they're all trying to out do each other.

I walked in for the first time this morning and the guy at the front desk was so unprofessional! I believe they say you come in and sign up and they show you around the facility and he threw my tshirt at me and diidnt read nothing... just stood there like I was suppose to know where to go and where things were! I asked him was that all and all he said was yeah with a dry face and won't even move And look at me! I legit could have just walked out and canceled this membership before I even use it! I'm already turned off! Beware of the rude front desk employees!!!!

Membership is $10 a month. Pizza at Little Cesar's is $5 per pizza. I can go once a week and get free pizza for half the price it would cost to get pizza from Little Cesar's pizza once a week. How's that as food for thought? LOL get the joke? Probably not if you're considering going to Planet Fitness. If you want to actually get in shape there are much better options. MUCH better. If you like pizza, it makes economical sense. It is more of a pain to go in and cancel the membership than it is to pay $10 a month for this "gym".
