The best gym I have ever been to. Absolutely impeccable as far as sanitation and I adore the sauna!

It's an okay gym in a good location.

It seems like they are less than respectful and appreciative toward customers once they have the contract signed though.

Even as a paying personal training client I had management LITERALLY take away gear I was actively using so someone else could use it - 3 times in a month - yes you Sharon.

The management is not very interested in maintaining the facilities or their gear. There is paint cracked and peeling, rust and mildew in the pool and hot tub area, grip tape peeling from the tile, the electric assistance chair is a rusted mess and may be a hazard.

The hot tub is regularly broken, typically the breakage is either half or none of the jets working. It was fully down for almost a full month right after Christmas. Sometimes this also affects the pool filters/heaters. Willy told me to "go to another location" when I asked how long it would be a problem...no joke.

Limited squat racks - It's nearly impossible to get a squat rack on any day ending in Y unless you are first in the door or have a long time to wait.

The gym i went to over the summer was with my friends to go swimming but it did not have as nearly as many machines or even a proper punching bag. Definetly recommended for people on the grind

Great place to workout. Saltwater pool, open design, lots of room and light. Great apparatuses to tone your whole body and amazing trainers.

I hate this company. I had a membership over a year ago and wanted to cancel but they are still charging me. They tell me I HAVE to come in to cancel. I finally make time to come in and low and behold they wont cancel me because.... The manager is not there I need to come back later. This brand needs to die, scammers dont give them your money.

I Love going to a swim workout, a water aerobics workout, or just to relax in the hot tub and sauna to unwind. They even have a kids club so you can drop off the kiddies while you do so. If you are planning to take the kiddies, make sure of the hours first so you can plan accordingly.

I want to give a shout out to McKenna Wale. She gave us a 3-day pass to see if the swimming pool will work out for my husband's disability after we were turned back by another sales manager in this location. Unfortunately for us this swimming pool is very busy at any time of the day and it will be impossible to do PT exercises in water. At least we save money by not purchasing the membership to find out if it will work out or not and will be back when my husband gets better and can just swim.

Now first and foremost I want to give the staff of LA fitness a 5 out of 5 stars for friendliness and cooperation and the actual management of the facility 1 out of 5 stars. The reason I want to post this rating is, I was and still am, very furious with them and their personal training sessions.
How it started was I was very optimistic and motivated in what my goals were; getting healthy and finally obtaining a beach body. That never happened. I approached one of the members to briefly show me an exercise to better work my grip/forearm, instead they sold a personal trainer claiming that they can "get me stronger and get me 6 pack abs", they did not. After a few months with the trainer I felt that, that was enough and I didn't want to do it anymore and I requested to cancel the personal trainer KNOWING THAT I HAVE TO BUYOUT. I felt good about the program, nothing wrong with it, it was just that I didn't want to pursue it anymore and was committed to do the buyout. The fitness manager named Sharon called me and did everything in her power to hold me into the program. She didn't want me to quit even though I told her it was enough and I was more than willing to buyout. She didn't do anything about it, instead she tried to sell me a "master trainer program". She obviously didn't get the memo. At this time, I was pretty aggravated about the situation. The fitness manager didn't want to help me but wanted to sell me another program, the trainers couldn't do anything about it and left me alone with these sessions. What else could I do? These guys are money hungry and didn't care about their customers, I was given terrible customer service on a corporate level.
Now I do want to say that the staff members at LA fitness were at least nice and were pretty down to earth. I told them my situation and they tried to comfort me saying that I should just get these sessions over with and to never come back. The trainers I had were very understanding and pretty much did whatever I wanted. They knew I was pretty angry every time I came in. Also, I do want to point out that these staff members are not getting the best treatment either. They're getting underpaid and overworked. I can't go into details on how so, but I know that compared to the members I worked with in the beginning until now, most of them have changed saying how they disliked working there.
To sum this all up, I want to say that LA fitness IS NOT A BAD GYM. The corporate decision is whats making them terrible and they're out to do whatever and say whatever they can to take your money. The staff members are great and they'll definitely help you out but don't expect them to jump hoops for you.
SHARON is the FITNESS MANAGER of LA fitness and highly advise anyone to NEVER SPEAK TO HER. She will give you terrible customer service and will try her absolute best to take your money.

Has what you usually need. Can be a bit crowded at times with no great lanes to do lunge walks and other odd work outs. The crowd is usually pretty laid back. Pool and locker rooms are clean and kept in good shape. Sometimes the day shift front desk employees can be sticklers about having your barcode available and it is a bit frustrating when they have the means to look up your information very easily.

me and my husband joined last year it was going fine until this month when my husband had to change the payment to the credit card because there was not enough money in the checking account to cover the payment well then today my husband called me from work and told me that they took money out of the account and over drew his account wel when i called then to talk to them about what was going on the manager told me that it was not there problem and that we had to deal with the bank on the matter i'm going to corp office on this matter and if they do not do anything about then i will turn them in to the bbb

This is a gym. It's not always the cleanest. The sales staff are a little rude but this may be a management issue, pushing training services over general member enjoyment. Still, it's a functional gym.

Typical gym setting. The Vancouver location needs to step their game up like the NW Portland location with new floors (tile) that aren't all nasty and old. The shower stalls aren't cleaned very often and the mats are usually pretty dirty. The gym does have just about everything you need though. Just wish it was a little cleaner and nicer which I am more than willing to place partial blame on some of the patrons.

Awful! We have been trying to cancel our account for about a year and no matter how many times we called, go in, sign papers, they still continue to charge us! Avoid at all cost! Negative 50 stars. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I've been coming to this LA Fitness since 2014 when I switched from the Orchards one. The Hazel Dell has always had a high turn over rate. I think there is maybe two people that I recognize that still work there from 4 years ago. Yesterday, I witnessed one of the reasons why. I normally don't work out mornings but did yesterday. I brought my daughter with me as usual. I knew that the daycare was from 8am-noon, so I stopped my exercise at noon and went straight downstairs to get her. I arrived at exactly 12:03 and the manager was visibly having a cow. Asking me, "Is this one yours?" in an accusatory and unprofessional manner, as if to berate me, since my daughter was the last one there. I guess they are very strict about making sure the girls that work in the daycare clock out ON THE DOT. No wonder people come and go so easily. With that kind of work environment, I wouldn't want to work there either. This, combined with a less than friendly staff, dirty equipment, shower stalls and an inch of dirt along the bottom of the hot tub, if you have the choice...go somewhere else. When time permits, I definitely favor the Orchards one. And if you've been going here for a while, you know that most people know this. Even businesses in the surrounding area know of their poor reputation.

I use this gym three to four days a week. Friendly staff. I use the pool for water aerobics and also do yoga on Fridays. Great instructors all around. Would like to see some remodel in the locker rooms. Rarely hot water in the showers.

Been a member since it opened, I like this gym, the lady at the front desk is very friendly, hope saying something nice about her does not send her packing, but wow, what a turnaround rate on receptionist! Girlfriend and I have been swimming 3 days a week, I see stuff floating once in awhile but has not been a big deal until recently! Last week for the first time in 10 years, the pool was so murky I could not see my hands! Pretty gross. Usually I can see down to the other end, but not this time! I wish staff would monitor people not cleaning there machines, and not the receptionist, but one of those trainers that like to ignore us. Pool health is important, no?

The gym itself is fine. Has everything I need at a fair monthly cost. I gave it 3 stars because I'd really like to see a change in the Kids Klub staff. I've been going to this location for several years and really disappointed with the quality of staff they hire to work with our children. Plain and simple-- it's obvious they don't want to be there. I've met 1 or 2 that seem like they care but 90% of the time I don't feel good about leaving my kids there. Last week the girls were complaining to a male employee who went in that "all the babies were crying!" Like it wasn't the job they'd signed up for? Today the staff person yelled across the room at a 2 or 3 year old who was crying with total exasperation. That is a couple recent examples of the general attitude I see from them in the few minutes I am there to drop off or pick up. Unfortunately I have very few options to get my workout in so it would be really nice if LA Fitness could hire sweet and caring workers for their Kids Klub. I know many women who will not go there because of this well known problem.

An absolute poor excuse for a gym. Equipment is old and not maintained. Very little of the most important equipment pieces such as only 2 squat rack bars. Lighting is horrible, stains, dirt and dust everywhere. Bad smells everywhere. No towel service, locker rooms beat up and barely usable. Only 1 basketball hoop and the light sensor turns of the lights every 3 minutes... I was trying to think of one positive thing about this gym but there really isn't. I was going to say location but it's totally worth to drive just 10 minutes to 24 super sport, totally worth it.

Terrible experience overall - I give them one start since the facilities and equipment are in really good shape. Unfortunately, their customer service and systems are lacking.
Fist off and most importantly their Kids Club is awful. If you want your kids to just sit and watch TV (of the Spongebob kind) and have the personnel just sit around chatting among themselves, this is your place. Much different experience than what we had experienced at 24Hrs Fitness (my daughters still remember the names of the girls that watched over them while my wife and I worked out).
Also, we have not been able to consistently go work out because every time we take our daughters, they get sick (which tells you about the cleanliness of the place).
And as for customer service, LA Fitness is the worst! They always seem to have this attitude towards people, especially if you ask them for help...as if they were doing you a favor. Their system (managing IT system that is) is pretty bad also. I've had problems with my online account were I log on with my user name and password and it shows my wife's account info and not mine...and they have not been able to fix that.

Just very displeased and will cancel our subscription.
