Great gym. Personal training available.
Awesome little gym that has everything you could need. The owner was kind and very responsive to any questions I had. 10/10 would come again!
Does not have a rock climbing wall or a basketball court.

This is a great gym! Not to big not to small. The owner is great too!

Very understanding and easy to work with. Nice gym. Quiet and has all equipment.
Troy was awesome, I'll use this place whenever I'm in Portland. Highly recommended
Great facility and the owner Troy is a super stand up guy!
I purchased 2- 1 day passes which I used a week apart. The following issues were presented to the owner as a friendly written note with a subject line of , "An outsiders view of some issues That may need addressed". The owner responded By throwing away the note in front of me and said every gym has maintenance issues and that if I didn't like the condition of his gym I could leave. Here are some of the things that were on that list.
1. The Squat machine cable was broke rendering it unusable.
2. The cable on 1 of the 2 adjustable cable systems on the "Smith-like" machine broke loose while I was performing a seated row rep.
3. Some of the machines have pulleys that either need lubricated or replaced making the motion of the machine feel like something is binding.
4. 1 of the mounted pull-up bars downstairs and 1 upstairs are pulling away (separating) from the wall they are mounted to.
5. If you want 50lb+ dumbbells you must use a un-user friendly adjustable set.
Right before I left I was told the upstairs part of the gym was for personal training and the owner just "let me use it". Unfortunately that is where the majority of the free weights are located so if you are into strength training like myself you may or may not have access.
Granted I'm not the typical clientele of this gym but given the condition of the equipment and the hostility I felt from the owner when pointing some safety and non-safety issues, I would not recommend this gym to the average user.
The best kept secret in Portland is the Hayden Island Fitness. Nestled between Double Tree Hotel and the expensive waterfront condos, the fitness club remain affordable, for the amount of machines, and the cozy ambience that greets members. The cool breeze music, and the relatively safe environment makes the place ideal for family workout. I particularly like the punching bags, and the cadio machines. I am way into my one year membership, and I can't wait to renew again. The owner Troy is a marine vet, and a superb personal trainer..
