If you want a good place to work out go here! The owners train you and they're very educated and they both take the time to teach you the correct way to work out and will do what it takes to help you get what you want out of a gym with the best results! I highly recommend this gym! This gym is the best in Pierce County hands down!

I've been working with Grit City for four months. I have seen a significant reduction in size and increase in muscle and strength. I had a back injury and they have been working with me on improving my mobility and strength. My back pain is almost completely gone and I feel great. I'm so happy that I decided to invest in myself.

Amazing, knowledgeable coaches who keep your form correct to prevent injury. Friendly, helpful classmates. Has a kids area that you don't have to pay for. If they had a way to shower it would be 5 star rating.

Grit city is more than just a place to work out and get fit, it's a community of awesome like minded people who want the best for everyone! Today's workout was a tough one, but Salim (one of the trainers) made it fun by adding some friendly competition at the end. It sounds crazy I'm sure, but once you go to grit city, you'll get hooked! I could go on and on but I'll leave it at this :)

Wasn't for me... But not saying it was not a good gym.. It's not for a beginner trying to get in shape more so for someone already conditioned.

I always come back to Grit City! They challenge me and make me dig deep to bring it! The local gyms do not compare! If you want a challenge, show up.and be prepared to Sweat!!

The gym has an amazing atmosphere, very welcoming no matter what your level, and I love the community and family feel. Having such a positive group and atmosphere helps to keep you on track with your fitness!

Best training program I've been involved with since my military days. Jowers' not only has the best regiment around, he also lays out a complete diet program, that coupled with the intense, motivating physical training workout, guarantees the results you're looking for. I would strongly recommend the Jowers Training System for anyone that is serious about getting in shape, while also improving their cardiovascular system and improving their diet.
Many programs promise results.....Jowers guarantees them, and delivers.

Jeff Jowers is a great trainer whose workouts will kick your butt and get you into shape. I've had other trainers before but Jeff's workouts are the toughest and produces results pretty quickly.

Very personal, very motivating, very different than any training I've ever had. This is a personal trainer that cares about your success and knows what he's doing. He's results driven and I am so glad I found him~ I will never need another trainer!

It seems like everyone has tried a gym or a fitness program at some point in their life so most people know what it feels like to go to a gym and workout. For me it felt like I was working out by myself, floating from machine to machine, listening to music on my headphones, and staring at the picture of some super fit chick sweating over a set of weights trying to tap into the motivation it was supposed to convey so I could talk myself into one more rep. At Grit City, motivation is not something you'll find hanging on the wall. It's something you'll find in the community of people that surround you as we all work together towards a common goal. It's little kids running around the gym to remind you that what you are doing will impact more than just your physical health. It's the high fives that you get at the end of every single workout. It's in the same question that the coaches ask almost everyday..."See you tomorrow?"

At a minimum, Grit City is the most fun and challenging workout around, so if thats all you are looking for, then you found the right place. But if you are looking for motivation, inspiration, accountability, community, support, and growth beyond just your physical self, then you really have no other option because you won't find what Grit City has to offer in any other gym.

Positive atmosphere. No boring repetitive workouts, they change it up every day. Man...have I got a long ways to go. See you there! By the way, they moved to a larger facility at 309 Puyallup Ave. (the old Tacoma Bike location.)
