Simply the best in Seattle!!!

This is hands-down the best Pilates studio I've ever been to, not just in Seattle but anywhere. I'd been doing other Pilates styles (Stott, BASI, etc.) for several years before coming to Metropolitan, and everything I'd done before paled in comparison to the Classical method taught there. The studio is co-owned by Dorothee Vandewalle, who trained directly with Romana Kryzanowska and now runs a world-renowned teacher training program herself. The teachers at the studio are graduates of that rigorous program, so everyone you work with has years of experience and is able to tailor your workout to your body, ability, and needs. I can't agree with the reviewer below who felt out of place - I'm not the most athletic type myself, and I've seen students of all ages, sizes, and abilities work out at the studio. There's absolutely no judgement and some of the teachers have even shared with me about their own "problem areas" such as tight hip flexors or stiff lower back.

I don't think there's anyone who wouldn't benefit from properly taught Classical Pilates, and Metropolitan Pilates is the perfect place for it.

Metropolitan Pilates is great! The studio is nice, clean and modern, and everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. I see people of all ages and body types there and everyone seems to feel at home. The instructors are very well trained and very attentive to details such as body position, which are so important to avoid injuries and get the results wanted. I feel stronger, more flexible and with much better posture!

The studio is nice but felt out of place here. The teachers on my visit were clearly not all of the same standard. I am not a slim dancer type and felt very out of place. Enjoyed the workout but this studio is not for me.

This is truly one of the best places to go for Pilates training and teacher training. The quality and professionalism are top notch. Everything about Metropolitan Pilates is excellent; the teachers, the equipment, the community, etc. If you want to learn Pilates and change your body and life for the better, go here!
