Dropped in for a morning workout. Great coach and great workout. Everyone there made us feel welcome
I was with Riot Athletics for only a few months, but I very much enjoyed all their classes. The instructors are enthusiastic and friendly, would definitely recommend trying performance/riot cycle, as well as Zumba on the weekends. Because I am such a night owl I eventually couldn't make it to the class times since they're mainly early mornings and in the afternoons (5pm ish), I was worried about having trouble cancelling my membership but all it took was 1 email.
Riot Cycle, part of Riot Athletics, has been a great find! I started attending Stacy V's Sunday AM :60 "Performance Cycle" rides a year ago and have been hooked since.
CROWD:
Riders range from very experienced regulars to drop-in novices. Everyone is made to feel welcome. No intimidation factor here regardless of whether you want to be pushed or take it a bit easier one day.
EQUIPMENT:
--New, very well-maintained spin bikes that are positioned far enough apart to be comfortable. Don't know how to set them? The instructors will be happy to help before class starts.
--Big screens connected to the bikes show who's leading the pack overall and for sprints, but each rider can opt out of tracking at the front desk if that's not what you're into.
--Cycling shoes are provided by the front desk
--Towels provided both before and after class
--Remember to bring your own water bottle, and there's a refill station by the front door
PARKING: 2-hour free parking on Sundays along both sides of the street, pay parking Mon through Sat, and a handful of street-level pay lots 2 blocks away.
LOCKER ROOMS: The basics are there, including 3 showers for those looking to get in an early workout before work.
Highly recommend!
Really fun group of trainers, nice facilities, and overall encouraging vibe. If you work downtown and want a short commute to your workout, you should check this place out.
Riot Athletics has a very Crossfit-focused gym, with a training regimen that is top notch. They know how to push you to the limits so that you can achieve more than you thought possible.
Ok. This is one of the few reviews that I'm actually excited to write.
For those like me, who have never done any serious workouts, has the will, but doesn't know the "way", is unsure about how sustainable it is, is worried that other fellow members are way way better than you, works well in a friendly environment, then Riot Athletics is that place for you.
I started last year in October after I saw an ad for "6 week challenge", and realized it was the "way" I was looking for.
I took 20 classes, but I knew within the first few classes that it wasn't ending after the challenge.
Saying that my mentors: Aeden, Kristen, Jordan and Courtney were great, is an understatement. I made a million mistakes, but they just correct you until you get it, and repeat even if you get it won't again. It's not just a "get them to workout for an hour and be done with it", but more like "let's do the best workout, together".
Our progress is recorded, our strengths and weaknesses are noted and the workouts are built around these factors. Our goals seems like their goals. When I was able to do a movement that wasn't easy for me, I was obviously happy, but so are they. As a novice, I was afraid to ask questions, afraid I'll make stupid mistakes, afraid I'd be embarrassing. But I think that's the best thing about Riot Athletics, the mentors make you workout (a lot), and they just don't care about how many times you all them, they'll just be there.
There are still monthly challenges, and they really test you. But now, after a year, I feel happy, I feel strong, I feel healthy, and I feel going here is the best part of my day.
Also, this is not just for newcomers, if you're already good at CrossFit, there are amazing people with whom you can workout with, who would support, inspire and challenge you to do better.
Has locker rooms, clean shower, street parking nearby. They offer CrossFit, Cycle, Twofer(mix of CrossFit and Cycle) Circut, Nutritionist and Boot camp.

Honestly, I've never been to Riot. However, having worked with Aidan Malody as a fellow trainer at a different gym, I know for a fact that he is one of the best trainers in Seattle if not the entire Northwest. Five stars and high recommendation here.

Really awesome place! Great coaching, super welcoming people, nice programing, and cool installations! I loved dropping in during my visit to Seattle.

really cool club that is all about getting fit. I highly recommend you check it out.
"Jordan is a great, fun motivator who really makes you work! I enjoyed the partnership with Kimpton hotels which allowed me to go to classes at Riot athletics and I enjoyed a few cycle classes as well as 30 minutes of CrossFit which was my first experience with that. Great studio with a nice laid-back feel. Definitely would recommend to anyone in the area!"

Killer workouts, great staff full of knowledge, and SHOWERS!
Seriously, if you are downtown or close to downtown Seattle, this is the place to go to change yo' body. CrossFit is a great, fun, challenging-as-hell way to get in shape and put your lazy ways behind you. Jordan and his tribe know all there is to know about fitness and will help you beat your goals.

If you are looking to workout and community this is the place for you. Workouts are scaled or have options for all types and you have support to push yourself to the distance. I love this place and all the people!
Great coaches, great people, great programming. I'm seeing great results from attending the crossfit classes just ~3 times a week! It's also clean and has proper locker rooms which is a plus. They just need to get the fabled yoga studio up and running and this gym would be perfection!
Riot's bootcamps are my favorite in Seattle! They do a great job of pushing you but still meeting you where you're at. Any athletic levels can participate and have a great time - great team environment and stellar workout!
Do yourself a favor and try the Twofer class. You won't regret it. I mean, you *will* regret it, but you won't. If you know what I mean.
I was a member of this gym from 2014 - 2017 and the only reason I left was I had to move out of state. I had only apartment gym or YMCA self circuit before joining and thanks to them fitness is now an important part of my life something I never saw coming when I was an obese nerd teenager and early 20yr old. I owe them a lot for how they helped me along my path of change.
Jordan, Kristen, and Aidan, along with other trainers always made me feel welcome, pushed me when they knew I could do more or backed off when it wasn't going to happen that day. They supported me in all my goals from supposed physique goals for cosplay or helping me recover from my herniated disc. They genuinely care about their community and make sure everyone gets that. That said they can be an ecxentric group of people which is a little at odds with the way people expect to interact in Seattle but personally as a Midwesterner it was one of the best features. Even now at my current place the programming is similar and class coaching is similar bur the community that Riot demands due to it's size limitations just isn't present.
The best feature is they want you to be the best you possible and they want you to move weight, correctly and efficiently, improve your health.
When ever I traveled and went to CrossFit gyms (or joined new gyms) one of the biggest complements was that my form is "excellent". And that's the thing they want you to move right before you move heavy. I would watch our trainers spend entire class sessions with drop-ins just to help them with there form (provided everyone else they trusted or knew they could rely on a senior member to keep an eye on people), that's how committed they are to form enabling function. Something I took to heart and if I ever getting into being a trainer I want to be half as good as them.
TL;DR It's a close community that is lead by some attentive, if excentric, people that truely believe in health and fitness. Allow them to help you and you'll be surprised how much you're capable of.
Love the place! Great coaches and people!
My favorite class is "Iron Addicts" (11am) which is, you guessed it, more weight focused. As am endurance athlete that is exactly what I needed to put on some muscles.
Great trainers. It's now called Riot Athletics.
Xplore Crossfit is an awesome gym. The people are great, the trainers are amazing and the programming works. Jordan will push you hard but you will be in the best shape of your life!!!
Convenient downtown location and easy to find, solid facility and equipment, good coaching, friendly community with a variety of athlete levels. Definitely recommend for a drop in and wish I could stay.
Dropped in here since it was within walking distance from my hotel. It's always nice to find places that do early morning classes. Everyone was super nice during the 2 days I was here. If I lived in Seattle I'd totally be a member.
Been using this location for a year. The staff is attentive and friendly. They have classes throughout the day. They accommodate you and your schedule. Clean bathroom and shower.
Great box and great coaches. I dropped in for one class and everyone went out of there way to welcome me. The work out was tough and the facilities are first rate.
