Average fitness club that charges premium prices. Equipment maintenance turnaround times could be better. HVAC is a major issue for this location. This club was closed for a month while they tried to fix the issue, but the ceiling still seems to leak.

We just joined this gym and already love it. Not too crowded and for the amenties you get with only paying $50 a month, you cant beat it. Pool, showers, sauna, different types of classes, basketball court, and smoothie cafe. Its great.

Great atmosphere and equipment available at the facility. Personal training team is very poor. On first day of joining membership the embark you with 2-3 personal trainers to force you to join there training program. It sounds promising at first since the 1st session is free, however after signing all the paperwork you quickly find out you have committed to 1 year overpriced training membership. It is always impossible to get out of as they require your SIN, lease agreements, date of birth, bills, etc. to convince them you want to cancel.I would not recommend getting involved with there training programs what so ever.

I highly don't recommend this gym. I had an issue with my membership . I tried many times to cancel it , but they kept charging me for my "frozen" membership for more than 10 months. I tried to stop by the gym and ask them personally, but they kept charging me. They tend to claim that the Operation Manager is out due to personal issues and they can not do anything or help me. I tried to call them on the phone and cancel my membership. It is so simple task, but they made it rocket science.

My experience just shows you that they don't care about you but about getting your money. The facility is not clean as well. I was a member with them for more than a year. They tend to have management changes. I highly recommend the YMCA which is located one block away from LA fitness.

Cheers,

Pretty great gym

This gym should be better. They only have one station with sanitizer to wipe down the equipment, which means most people don't wipe anything down. The pool area isn't well ventilated. They moved the towel service to the front desk so if you need an extra towel while you're in the locker room you're out of luck. The hair dryers are weak and it takes forever to dry your hair (ok, I know that one sounds like a minor issue, but you'll understand if you ever used those dryers!). The staff isn't very friendly and I always feel out of place in there. I wish this place was just better overall. Unfortunately, the gym in my building only has two multistations and I like using the machines and the pool. Bummer.

This gym has a good location and excellent parking. It's fairly new, so it still looks fresh and clean. It has machines and group workout rooms. If I were paying for only these basic features, I would be very satisfied.

However: The towel service has been off and on since opening. The one time I asked, after two weeks of no towels, when they expected the washing machine to be either repaired or replaced, I thought this poster child for steroid abuse was going to come over the counter at me.

The women's sauna has been out of commission as much as it has been functioning for the past 18 months, and completely closed for the past five months. Oh, and they want to charge you for replacement when your 50 cent key fob disintegrates after over two years of normal use.

Cheapest in the area. Often crowded and hot. Staff is decent and amenities are somewhat generous.

July 2, 2018 07:06

It's a "signature" club which at the end of the day basically means towel service, really. Amenities are pretty much the same across all in the chain.

This particular gym is a bit smaller and has less equipment. As with all locations, free parking.

And alas, same issues with security, or rather, lack of. There's something about the area and petty thieves. This time, gloves. Yep, imagine that. Even sweaty gloves are stolen - nothing fancy, just your standard ~$20 variety. Not the gym's fault, but still is part of the overall experience.

I float between here and a couple other LA Fitness venues. Calling this place a "Signature Club" is silly. The parking situation is great, but it ends there.

I regularly come in to them telling me they're out of small towels. (If it's that much of a problem, buy more towels.) A few times they had none.
The venue is *tiny*. I came here to get away from the Kelsey Creek location in Bellevue because it was always so busy, but the lack of equipment here makes it even more difficult. When signing up for the signature plan they tell you that being signature makes it a little less busy. But I'd rather be at a busier, bigger place where I can regularly get equipment.
They only have one of several racks that get regular use (Squat rack, military press, incline press, etc). There are only a few bench press racks.
Their vending machines don't even take credit cards! This location has only been up for about a year and a half, how do they have cash only vending machines? Every other LA Fitness I've been to provides credit card vending machines.

They argue that the towel service and the "shampoo, body wash, conditioner" provided at the location makes them signature. The standard locations offer a body wash, and that's plenty good enough.
I generally find myself having a better time at the other locations, even when busy. This location would be fine if they didn't flag it as a Signature club. For $10 a month I'll bring my own towels, thanks.

Decent gym for the price. Their (only?) washing machine has broken down mutiple times in the last year killing the towel service for weeks at a time. Even when the machine is working they are often out of towels. They've recently instituted a new policy where you need to ask for towels at the front desk, but only if you have a certain level of membership. While I do have towel access I feel the difficulty this company has in fulfilling this one, crucial, perk is making me start thinking of switching gyms.

I am having a hard time wanting to go back here. My wallet was stolen and at a very bad time because my payment for my trainer was due. I told my trainer, the trainer manager, and the club operations manager in west seattle that this had happened before I was even about to be charged and they all said it would be no big deal. I lost my card on Thursday (5/3/18) and my payment was due on 5/9/18. I got 17 phone calls between 8:07 and 8:55 on 5/10/18. I spoke to 3 different people and told them my situation. Finally one person said she would put a note on my account. Then on 5/11/18 I received 9 phone calls in 15 minutes. I am a professional person who can not have my phone ring that many times in a row in a meeting! What the f###!!! I got my card yesterday in the mail and updated, but I am super put off!!!

Good equipments and good people. Not too expensive. They have plenty of parking. I usually go later in the evening and don't have to usually wait for equipment to become free. They have a swimming pool and basketball court, although I don't use either of those. The only thing that's consistently bad is the Wi-Fi. And to make matters worse cellular service (I use T-Mobile) is very low inside the gym.

I wish the machines were washed down more... for a signature club they are always pretty dirty and gross.

Don't get me wrong, it's up to the patrons to wipe their machines after useage which literally never happens. But I wish the club would tell people too more or make more of am effort with the cleanliness of the machines.

The roof is leaking on the free weights in two places and in the cycle room... and has been for at least a month...maybe more like two months. The sauna has been broken since mid- December in the women's locker room - there were two weeks in January when it worked. I've asked about when things were going to be fixed three times. I also enquired about discounts three times since I do miss the sauna. I've been told there is nothing anyone can do. There is no time-line for fixing as far as I can tell. Equipment in the weight area is decent if it is not wet. Cardio machines are decent. Most of the specialized training equipment (cow bells etc) aren't available to members who aren't in personalized training sessions. Spin class is great and I've heard some of the other classes are pretty good even if the facility needs serious work. Member for about 6 months but looking for a new gym now that has a working sauna.

Talking to these guys remind me of conversations with car salesmen. Pushy, pressuring, and at the end of the day you best be interested or be prepared to be hung up on or treated like you're an insignificant booger on the wall.

If I had any consideration of ever joining LA Fitness, it's gone after a single encounter with these guys.

I was a member of this gym for over a year. They overcharged me several times and then when I added my fiance to my membership, they made her pay a $150 deposit. What is the point of a deposit if we're already members!? Then when you try to cancel they get into a predatory cycle where they keep charging you fees and then say you have to pay for one more month after the month you cancel. Then they keep charging - as you can see from many prior reviews. This practice happens over and over and over. They won't even take your cancelation unless you physically walk into the gym when a manager is present. If the manager is not there, they won't help you and are all very rude. Its horrible service and they don't deserve to be rewarded with new customers. BOYCOTT THIS GYM IF YOU LOVE WEST SEATTLE !!

February 8, 2018 22:55

Great location, usually pretty clean (but my husband disagrees and says the men's locker room is gross). Machines are still in good shape. Biggest downside is if you go during busy evening hours they are typically out of towels.

February 6, 2018 12:05

Lights don't stay on in the cycle room. No one has an explanation. One person blamed it on old wiring. I relocated, provided proof, was told it was ok to cancel, then one month later I was charged for personal training. That charge has yet to be returned on my card. Fix that and your cycle room lighting and a higher score could be received.

Its a big gym with good machines, basketball court, swimming pool. Excellent locker rooms and sauna and showers. But only 2 squat racks. And only one barbell that can be comfortably used for jerks and pressing. And only one real pull up bar. If you dont care about that its a great gym with tons of space. The trainers let you do what you want with minimal fuss.

January 11, 2018 10:47

I was getting ready to deploy and went in to either suspend or cancel my membership. I was told since I had already paid for the November 11- December 11 that it would roll over till I got back from overseas. I was told by the manager that my membership would not renew but upon review of my finances this month I have been charged 2 additional months since I left. I am now out $100 dollars because I put my trust in the manager to suspend my membership until I returned. That has for obvious reasons not happened. I have filed a claim with my bank and will cancel all further transactions from LA Fitness. This is predatory to all those deployed by attacking those who cannot defend themselves in person. I feel slighted by the manager telling me not to worry when in fact I was still going to be charged for a service I couldn't use. I filed a complaint with the BBB and had to cancel my credit card to prevent them from charging me additional months. DO NOT TRUST THE GM JULIAN.

Update: I've been coming here since this location opened. Things are getting better. Juice/smoothie bar is open. A few more classes.
Summer workouts are ruff because it gets so hot and they never turn on the fans which I don't understand.

There are a very limited number of classes for such a large facility. The juice bar is still not open and most importantly the towels they hand out at the door are mostly stained which always grosses me out. I travel between LA and Seattle for work and have been a member for nearly 15yrs. This location is a real disappointment compared to the others.

October 23, 2017 08:02

The gym is great because it's always clean and doesn't have much of a wait for anything. Basketball gym has a full court and people running most of the time and competition is usually good.

October 23, 2017 08:02

Not nearly enough resistance equipment for how slow every one works out here. Zero sense of purpose, or urgency. Go to that purple and yellow gym if you want to chitchat.

October 23, 2017 08:02

Gyms are gyms... None are more special than the other. After a while it will get older, equipment and pads wear down, and it will have an odd moldy smell. This location is about 2 years old and it has a good number of members working out at any given time. General housekeeping is doing it's best to keep the showers and overall facility in top shape.
