With Melissa Meyers practicing her divine alchemy on Monday nights, harmonizing distorted frequencies, balancing unstable molecules into equilibrium and centering frenetically spiraling particles of dark matter into blissful, blinding radiant light...Shakti Vinyasa Yoga is THE place to be in the Seattle Yoga-verse!

I've been attending classes here for more than 10 years. Shakti offers a style that is at once athletic and meditative. For someone who just wants a workout, you'll get plenty of exercise. For those who are interested in the spiritual aspects of yoga, there is plenty to learn here. However, there is a balance between the two so there is something for everyone. It's not cheap and the quality does vary between instructors so try several out before you make up your mind about whether or not this studio should be called home.

I went for a morning meditation. The studio is very pretty and it looks like a nice, high end yoga spot. The meditation was after a yoga class and I suspect most people in attendance came from the class. The instructor spoke the entire time which isn't necessarily my style, but that's okay. I can tune it out. However at the end they had us stand in our circle, turn to the side (facing the back of the person next to us), and they said to "give your neighbors some love." I was between two strange, sweaty men and suddenly one was massaging me and I was supposed to massage the (shirtless) one in front of me. Then we were supposed to go in the other direction.

I should have stepped out of the circle, but I didnt realize what was happening and froze. If they want to have massage circles, they need to let people know ahead of time so that they can opt out. I did not consent to two strange men rubbing my shoulders and it was not relaxing to say the least.

I can't speak to their yoga classes, but saw some reviews bring up similar situations with lack of awareness to consent. Instructors should know by now to let people opt out of being touched by strangers in classes, including by the instructors themselves.

This place has an awesome vibe...however the second time i went the teacher was a total douche, played a bunch of really inappropriate music, totally throwing me off my vibe...other than that, i love this place, Definitely not for beginners...you are on your own for most of the class, no adjustments and initial direction is limited. but overall a beautiful space, amazing view and totally accessible.

Nice friendly staff. The have a specific style of yoga they follow and for me it was intense but enjoyable classes. I loved that they have early morning classes! I had a full moon over me that I could see through the skylight one morning class I took in the winter, it was magical.

The atmosphere is great. There are some fantastic teachers. I find myself sticking with a few and avoiding a few.

The Pacific Northwest is full of different yoga places that all have different vibes. I particularly love this place because of the adorable selection of leggings they sell and the fact that they often have a 30 to 50% off section (my budget.) I'm particularly fond of the classes they offer for beginners or people who are out of practice and their yoga games and I find that the teachers I have experienced are informative and make yoga fun and easy.

I have been going to Shatki for little over a year and truly enjoy this studio for many reasons. The instructors are thoughtful and well trained. I get inspired by there technique. In the classes I have been attending there is a nice vibe with the other students and the interaction is fun. I have recommended this studio to others and they have all enjoyed it as well.

Decent classes, but their pricing policies suck. Punch card expires in only 2 or 3 months -- too quickly if you want to save money and only come occassionally. Why have an expiration date when they take your money up front?

Very calming, nice atmosphere. These classes are taught by TRUE professionals, don't be fooled by other locations and their claims.I took the Intro Series, which I highly recommend. The personal attention is unparalleled, whether you are in the intro series or not. They truly want to make sure that you are doing things correctly (so you can get the full benefits AND so you don't hurt yourself!)

My only complaints are that sometimes it feels a bit pretentious and as if people are taking it a bit too seriously. My husband was made fun of on his first class...I know the instructor was joking, but it has made him not want to try Hot Yoga again.

The other complaint is that you can really be packed in tight into these classes. Sometimes I thought they were too full.
