Great gym: friendly staff, clean, good assortment of workout equipment, lots of parking, personal trainers available. I have been coming here almost nine months now for cardio and weight training and it has made a huge difference

Teresa does an amazing job with Fundamentals if you're new to CrossFit. She's an encouraging and meticulous coach who has a keen eye for proper form and technique. Her tips have helped me immensely in this last year, even with everyday movement and posture. After birthing four little ones in five years naturally, my lower back and abdominal muscles desperately needed strength-training and PTV was incredible in helping with that. I definitely recommend this box for anyone hesitant to try CrossFit!

It has been a year since my wife and I had to cancel my membership due to personal reasons, but I felt I must leave a review for the great time we had here! Teresa and her crew and fantastic and she is a really great owner to deal with. The coaches are attentive and friendly, and there is a very congenial and motivating atmosphere among the folks in class. Class sizes are small so you get individual attention. I hope to return one day!

Great CrossFit Box! The coaches are very attentive to form to make sure you're doing the lifts correctly. Very family friendly with a kids' room and free childcare during select hours. I love that it's clean & has high quality equipment. My kids love the kids classes and I love that they're staying in shape and I know they're safe. Can't say enough. The workout programming is fantastic! I'm in the best shape of my life because of this place and have made great friends here!

My family and I moved to Seattle about 2 years ago and when I started to search a CrossFit gym, I found the best place because:

The knowledge and organization of Teresa James, the owner, is admirable! Before letting me join the group classes, I had an introduction to CrossFit fundamentals to learn the correct technique for many movements.

All the coaches are certified. The gym is clean and safe, well equipped with rowers, ski-erg, assault bikes, GHDs and everything that we need to practice all the movements of CrossFit and weightlifting.

Also the gym has child care and classes for children.

I am very happy and I feel very lucky because besides having found a wonderful place to practice this sport, I found great friends and very nice people that make me feel that I have a family here.

After being a member for over a years I guess a Google review is in order! I love this place, the workouts are great and dynamic, the coaches are so devoted and the sense of community here is really special.

I usually come 1-3 times per week, I alternate between crossfit and other less intense types of exercise depending on my mood, but when I really want to get whipped into shape, this is the place I go. Love these guys!!!

After moving from Chicago to Redmond I was looking for a CrossFit box that was almost like the one I came from. I knew what exceptional coaching looked like, a place where everyone encourages one another, endless great energy, SAFETY FIRST, and a non competitive environment. If you're a CrossFitter, you know how devastating it can be to leave your box.

Fast forward after dropping in at 3 different boxes (won't name names) and none of which had everything I was looking for. It's lucky I knew what I was looking for or I'd have ended up at a box that didn't exemplify all of the above, or injured. Teresa and her staff literally save my behind.

I did a Saturday morning drop in and instantly felt welcome. People introduced themselves without prompting, Teresa took us through the movements in the workout prior to, and the warmup was intense enough to kickstart a sweat. I signed up for a membership right after class and haven't looked back since.

I've now passed my year mark here and actively attend classes 5-7x a week, including doing the Open for the first time this year. I can tell you Crossfit PTV is quite amazing. The classes are very well organized and there's always bumpin' music which, at 8am is a great start to your day.

The coaching here is awesome. All coaches (I mean all of them!!) are very knowledgable, can help with modifications if needed, understand mobility, and prioritize safety first which is numero uno. No poor form allowed!

The workouts are challenging, dynamic, and fun. Yes, FUN! There's great energy here. What I really appreciate is the non competitive environment. In a city where boxes are super bro-ey giving CrossFit a bad name, this place is the complete opposite. You show up, do what you can, push yourself, and do your best regardless of your skill level. No one yells at you, tells you to add more weight, makes you feel bad, brags about themselves, or shows off. Literally, you do you. I love this.

On a sidenote, they have Childcare for those busy parents. And lastly, my final obsession, this places screams cleanliness. It always smells fresh and is spotless!

I joined CrossFit PTV a year and a half ago because I needed to try something different to get into shape. I finally realized that telling myself I was going to run when I got home from work wasn't translating into actually doing it consistently. I wasn't sure if I'd like CrossFit because a) I was really out of shape (FGM) and wasn't sure I could keep up, and b) I was not someone that liked to work out in a class setting (I'm more of a 'suffer in solitude' type).
Here's what happened: the coaches are amazing and supportive. Scaling is not only okay here folks, but encouraged when appropriate so you don't get hurt trying something way above your skill/strength level (FGM). The focus on safety and form is the hallmark of a good CrossFit gym, in my opinion. That being said, the coaches are all very experienced and can tell when you're ready to move to the next level even if you aren't aware of it yet. I've even come to enjoy working out with others, which I never thought would happen. The reasons for that include that the people are very nice and supportive, and I've gotten to know some pretty great people. I also feel more accountable to myself by signing up for a class rather than trying to fit in a run here or there so I'm seeing good, consistent results. Lastly, but my no means least, I love the fact that we have training blocks to focus on certain skills for a period of time. We test ourselves at the beginning of the block and again at the end so we see real, measurable results. That is some motivating stuff right there. I never thought that working out would be the best part of my day, but it is now.

I've been coming to this box for almost 18 months. In that time, I've done things I've never thought possible, like rope climbs, pullups, and double unders. Everyone, from the owner, the trainers to the fellow members are great and very welcoming. Emphasis is on form and technique, which, being new to weightlifting, I appreciated. I do crossfit to be keep up with my kids (they even have kids and preschooler classes!) and play better tennis but I do crossfit here because the atmosphere seems to be focused on improvement rather than competitiveness.

The class times are convenient and classes with childcare are offered 8 times a week. They also offer weekly skill clinics to help you improve and open gym times and dedicated Olympic weighlifting times.

Not all crossfit boxes are the same. I highly recommend checking out PTV if you're thinking about starting crossfit. You'll be rewarded with a great community!

So first a note on crossfit in general:
I grew up dancing since I was very little and definitely had all the same fears regarding weight training that most do. I didn't want to "bulk up" so I was a cardio junkie. This ended up causing joint pain in my hips from over running, and also my weight continued to fluctuate based on whether I ran or very strictly what I ate. I wanted to be free of that non sense. A friend of mine had been crossfiring for years and suggested it. I was skeptical. But started with the two-week intro with Teresa and despite being inexplicably sore- I couldn't stop going. One of my most memorable experiences was back squatting for the first time and one of the ladies I was partnered with looked at me and said "you're stronger than you think you are." It's cheesy, but I'll never forget it, both in the physical and metaphorical way!

The benefits of Crossfit
I gained weight but lost inches. And now I haven't weighed myself in over 1yr and half and it's the best thing ever.

I walk in and someone else tells me what to do! I don't have to self encourage or plan out what I should be focusing on because the coaches at Crossfit PTV are thinking about it for me. Plus, everyone I work out with is super friendly and willing to help. And they want you to be the best YOU you can. It's not competitive in a way where you feel small because you aren't lifting as much as the next guy- it's about are you pushing yourself for what you can accomplish that day.

The staff! Are all A) extremely competent. B) Very different. C) Remember you. I've been here for about 10 months, and whenever I meet a new coach, they ask me my name. And when I'm like "this thing with my elbow" they listen and help modify based on where I'm at with my body that day. They also won't let me slack because they know me. It's empowering when a coach looks at you and says "you can put more weight on that bar". It's also comforting to know that they will also look at you and say "that's too heavy, take some off". And they aren't afraid to offend you for the sake of your safety and overall progress as an athlete. Oh, and they treat you like athletes which is awesome because I use to be the kid in gym class that would tie my shoe during the mile and wait for a friend to come back around so I could count that lap.

The Schedule! I have a crazy schedule, so I am always scraping together time to get to get a workout in. There are classes all the time here. And it's cheaper than the other gyms I've looked at.

Overall Crossfit PTV has truly been a great experience. As they say, I've drunk the Kool Aid- and let me tell you, it's worth it.
