I started practicing at HYI since 2013. I just love the infrared heat so much. It helps me to warm up my muscles very fast, and the same time it releases toxins out of my body from very deep areas throughout my skin. I sleep better than normal. I have a lot of energy afterwards. The class passes are reasonable. Awesome instructors. Always wanna come back to practicing my yoga at HYI.

I always feel AMAZING after class. I am so glad that I started Sculpt, I am finally able to get into crow pose after strengthening my arms! All of the staff members are so welcoming and knowledgeable. Thankful that I only 15 minutes away!

THIS PLACE IS PHENOMENAL! Shannen took us through a dragon flow class yesterday and it really brought out my inner warrior :) I feel so much stronger and i loved the opportunity to try something different! It was so much fun and i cant wait to go back as soon as possible! Id also like to give a shout out to some of the other fantastic teachers; Eunice, Maja & Jen. I always leave their class feeling so refreshed, not only physically but mentally and i really recommend everyone give hot yoga a try!

Hot yoga in federal way was definitely a first time great experience! I was really nervous to try yoga out for the first time. When I walked in I was instantly welcomed by the manager Tarik. It was almost as if I knew him and the staff already. He asked me a few questions to help direct which package was best for me and off I went happily with a great 10 for 10 deal. Wall yoga was my first class with Maja, she walked me through everything with much ease and became my favorite instructor, such a peaceful aura. Second class was power yoga with Ashly, def another great yoga instructor. She gets everyone pumped up and involved. I can't wait to go back! I love the atmosphere the staff brings to this studio, it was the yoga experience I'd imagined with the music and all. I'm so glad this was my first yoga experience. Ohhh and the studio is spotless and clean I felt like I should've took my shoes off at the door lol. I think that's def important when you come into a specific studio like this. Thank you Hot yoga federal way staff! Lovin yall!

First, I would give this place no stars if I could. Where do I even start.

1) To start, horrible service. I have been to several hot yoga places and have been taking hot yoga classes for years and NEVER have I experienced such horrible customer services. The "instructer" if that's what I even call this TROLL, was rude and extremely impolite. He made me feel stupid when I asked basic questions to make sure I wasn't doing a pose dangerously, and seemed to single me out as a joke to the class. When I left to go get water becasue I was very dehydrated, the lady at the front desk yelled at me for getting water. FOR GETTING WATER PEOPLE! And told me I better get back in the class. There was no music playing during the class. The instructor doesn't go to each person to help them with their poses, he just works on his own thing, and had the workout plan written on a loose leaf paper that he constantly had to go back to to remember what position was next. And dear God DON'T ask questions, because he will just look at you with a look of disbelief like, "how dare you not be 100% already experienced in what I am teaching!?"

Secondly, THE SMELLS! The corner of the room, where I unfortunetly happened to be smelled like week old tacos or poison. Literally, while doing my poses the only thing that I could think about is "I think this is why people have noese, to actually warn you when something could kill you, what if there is a leaky valve and something is actually going to kill me." These are not the thoughts you want to be thinking while in a hot yoga class.

Learn from me and please put your dollar somewhere else there are so many other welcoming and amazing hot yoga classes in the area. I couln't get my money back but hopefully I save someone else out there some cash.

It's less about the place, and more on what you're trying to achieve.
Stillness? Balance? Finding those golden nuggets no matter the environment or position you're in, is what is being focused on, within those classes.
The instructors are real and are only there to deepen your experience, which you hold the toggle to.
Ignore the positive comments. Ignore the negative comments. Go make an assessment first. If your experience left you worse off, don't go again. If you feel better - do it again.

Their $10 for 10 classes starter deal is pretty smart because half the people who get that deal don't like the classes at all and don't come for the other nine classes. $10 per class is actually comparable to the other classes (like barre) offered at boutique fitness centers.

I went to a class at HYI Federal Way in January 2016. The studio was very clean and I loved the atmosphere of the hot room. There are a lot of large windows that make the whole place seem bright and cheery. The staff was very encouraging and gave great advice on how to improve my postures. I would definitely recommend HYI for anyone looking for a welcoming hot yoga experience.
