I just finished Bellingham Fitness' six week challenge. I'm not usually the type to sign up for things on Facebook, and if something sounds too good to be true I've found that it usually is. So I was skeptical when I had my initial meeting and tour to discuss the "free" personal training opportunity, and pretty soon the catch revealed itself: I had to put my money where my mouth was. The personal training, gym membership, and nutrition planning would only be free if I took them seriously and showed results. If I did things half way I'd have to pay to the services I received just like everyone else. I had just found the perfect storm, because those who know me well know that I am: 1.) Cheap 2.) Very competitive, and 3.) Always carrying around some visible evidence of my love of food.
So I signed up, put down my $500 deposit, and steeled myself for a challenging six weeks. It was tough: no more drinking, eating many of my meals out of little plastic boxes that I had prepared the weekend prior, and working out every day (and often twice a day) whether I felt like I had the motivation or not. But I kept at it, and with the help of an awesome trainer (that's you Lenny), a great group of workout partners, more workout equipment than I knew what to do with, and a strict but still tasty diet plan, I just weighed out having lost 35 pounds and dropped my body fat by 7.7%. The challenge (like most diet and exercise plans) works, but only if you're committed to the work (especially the diet).
I highly recommend Bellingham Fitness and their six-week challenge to anyone who is serious about losing weight, getting healthier, and breaking away from the complacency that is keeping them from being who they have the potential to become. Good luck!
