Asked if I could observe a class because I was currently in a cast. Person at counter stated that they were a private academy and would have to set up a time to take an introduction. I just wanted to observe to see if it was something I might be interested in joining. Based on this practice (public business), I will look elsewhere
We have been attending class at Changing Lives Martial Arts Red Mill Academy for the past 2 years. We decided to sign up at with red mill CLMA academy after carefully reviewing and comparing with other martial arts academies in the local area. We have found a caliber of the instructors and the quality of individual instruction to be among the finest in VB. Furthermore, I would recommend this particular program of instruction (fully and with reservation) to any parents seeking to focus their kids boundless energies into a positive developmental experience and direction. Bottom line, this program has really improved my children's discipline, listening and social interaction skills and their grades reflect. Since our association with the program, we have not observed or heard of any questionable business practices as described in a different post. Overall, this is a great program and I would recommend it in a heartbeat.
Adult classes (Krav Maga) are fun but also educational. The people in the class are all really friendly and the instructor is as well. He explains the technique in groups but if you need help one on one he will. He will push you hard but also be respectful of any injuries and complications you may have. It's a great workout and you learn practical life skills. Would recommend to anyone who wants to learn self defense, is in the military or law enforcement, or just wanting an extra workout! First class is free to try it out as well
I've had such a wonderful experience at Changing Lives Martial Arts. The instructors are great and it I have learned a lot about self defense. The Krav Maga class is suited for people of all levels and ages 13 and up. I have been with this school for 2 years now and have gained such a wealth of knowledge and improved self esteem. I highly recommend it for people who are looking for a good adult martial arts class or are looking for a great workout regimen. This place will not disappoint.
I visited this location for information on signing my son up for classes. I was not able to bring my spouse as it was supposed to be a surprise for our child, and they only offer afternoon, and weekend times when he would be home. After listening to a full 'sales pitch' the instructor filled all sorts of paperwork out so that it was 'done and ready' when my husband and I had a chance to discuss it. I was not convinced that this was what we were looking for. The instructor insisted that all the paperwork be filled out then, leaving off the start dates and a few other peices. He assured me that if we decided against it, all the paperwork would be shredded. If we decided to go with it, at the first class I would receive my copy of the paperwork. What I did not know was that this was a 6 month contract which we could not back out of after signed. He was notified less than 2 weeks later, and before the intended start time of after christmas, that we had gone with a different program. He did not shred the paperwork, or supply us our copy. Instead we have been charged for 3 months of services we are not using. The general manager has informed me that there is no cancellation option, even though it never should have started. She has been rude and informed me that she would speak to her employee about his false information, and that that is not how they are supposed to fill out paperwork. We are now being charged nearly $1000 for classes we are not taking. The manager has also not bothered returning phone calls, or emails over the last 3 months. There are lots of other local options that will not cheat you out of your money. There are other options in the same set of plazas. Save your self the hassel and poor customer service and go else where.
