I really love this gym. The people are great. The problem, seems to be that they obviously don't have support from higher ups to take care of the basic things that need to be taken care of.
It took months for them to fix the bench in the sauna, for instance, and only did so after they were complaints of people being INJURED.
Even now, there are STILL nails and screws sticking out in different places that they don't seem to care about.
Currently they're cleaning the pool, but because today, apparently, can't keep the chemical balance correct, I still will catch an ear infection from their pool if I am not sure to get all the water out.
Going to a chlorine pool would solve this problem, but they don't want to do that, so they want to stick with what they've got, even though they know people are getting sick from it. I just listen to some of the clients talk, the tell you how they've gotten sick from the water
Then there's the hot tub, it literally has A coating of slime they can be felt at the waterline. The water is often cloudy, and the bubbles, actually have slime on them when they form. Of course, do not get me started on the trap near the steps, the inside of it literally has brown funk, The only word I can think of, growing on it, that has been there for over a year that they refused to clean.
And a special section, for the safety issues. The steps going into and out of the hot tub have damaged railings that MOVE and will shift away from you, easily resulting in a mis-step and I have seen multiple people, including myself, fall because the railing slipped out of our grasp.
The floor is EXTREMELY slippery when wet, and they refused to do anything about it, instead just putting out signs so nobody can sue them when they inevitably fall and get injured.
You better be a partial gymnast because you ARE going to slip, and nearly fall because they won't spend the money to get the floor treated to prevent that. This is true of the floors in the men's locker room, and around the pool. I can only assume it's the same the woman's locker room as well. I mean, wife's been what would probably be a hefty sum, the treat the floor to prevent slipping, when you can just put a sign out and then say, "Screw you" when one of your clients inevitably injures themselves.
So expect to fall down somewhere and if you're lucky you won't get hurt.
None of this I blame on the people that work there, I know it's not them it's the people that are getting the money that OBVIOUSLY don't care enough about the customers to do basic sanitation and basic maintenance to protect the health and safety of their clients.
I personally have decided that the only option I have now is to take photographs and send them to the health department and whatever happens next happens next.
Hopefully they'll get some citations that will force them to start taking care of some of this.
The pictures are of the filter I was talking about, and you can see how the railing can be shifted around. Both are like this.
Hopefully somebody will do something about this.
But in closing I do want to say again that the staff is incredible, they just don't have a lot of work with unfortunately
