The idea of going to a gym and looking lost can be so overwhelming and intimidating. But the environment in Unify is the complete opposite. It's so welcoming and filled with friendly people who are focused on their own fitness journey and are not there to judge others. That's the kind of "workout culture" that Unify cultivates - no judgement, just patience, humor, and motivation. Unify trainers are all aware that not everyone is at the same fitness level and are extremely knowledgeable in tailoring each workout for each person to produce the best results. Shout out to my trainer Hannah S. (my first ever trainer) who has been so patient with all my whining (lol) and continues to push me to be successful! The biggest thing that owners Brian & Melissa emphasize is accountability. They truly care for the success of their clients and will work with you as much as they can in helping you meet your fitness goals, but YOU have to put in the work. They don't run their business like a traditional gym that will gladly take your money without any care for your success. The owners, the trainers, the people - it all feels like a bunch of friends pushing each other to keep going and work harder!
For people who searched "gyms near me" and are curious about the logistics (as I was):
- There's no annual fee. You're paying for a chunk of training sessions at a time, which you'll figure out with Brian/Melissa. Along with your payment for training, you get access to the cardio equipment in the lobby any time during business hours. No, you won't have access to strength training equipment/machines outside of your training sessions. But again, Unify is not a traditional gym. They primarily offer sessions with a personal trainer, which is when you get to use their full arsenal of equipment. Believe me, you get your money's worth with each training session.
- Group sessions are cheaper than one-on-one training. But for me, because I was too self-conscious to workout with a group, I started out with one-on-one training then switched over to group. I soon realized it was way more fun to workout with other people!
- HIIT Tuesday and Bootcamp/Yoga Saturday are free group sessions that come with your training. Other group sessions (of different workout genres/types) are constantly offered. They aren't free but are still worth it and super fun. You're told as they become available, but you are never pressured to join!
- If you're even a little bit curious if Unify is right for you, just schedule a consultation/visit. Brian and Melissa are honest and will answer any questions you may have, especially with pricing. No hidden fees. And while you're there, watch how they and everyone else interact with each other. That's what drew me in!
Unify won't be right for everyone, because it all depends on what you need from a gym/fitness studio, but it was the perfect place for me ^_^
